Hand in Hand (1961)
Life-affirming
Saw this movie a couple of years back on Talking Pictures and loved it. I've just seen Loretta Parry in an episode of The Saint again on Talking Pictures - what a wonderful little channel it is. Had to comment here because the episode (about a dodgy countess) moved me to tears just as Hand in Hand did when I saw it. So thanks Loretta for the part you played in making me cry again.
Knives Out (2019)
Great fun.
Not sure how this passed me by when it came out last year. Whodunnits not really my bag but my son was keen to watch it so we did. Clever plot with super performances from all involved.
Two Thousand Women (1944)
Great fun!
There are some excellent reviews above so I'll not waste any time explaining what happens. Suffice to say, I'd never heard of this film before and just happened to catch it on Film4 on VE Day 2020, and found it an enjoyable and undemanding way to spend an hour or so. Take it for what it is and it's an easy 10/10.
