Black Beauty (2020)

Not Black Beauty
2 May 2022
I honestly find the movie horrible. And the problem already lies right in the contradictions of how it is presented, I had read somewhere that this would be a 'modern day reimagining of Anna Sewell's timeless classic'' but what I see in the synopsis here is ''A wild horse and a teenage girl forge an unbreakable bond which keeps them connected for a lifetime.'' This was not what the original was about at all!!

Black Beauty wasn't a horsegirl story! Is was a about a horse, and the difficulties it faced. There are still many things going wrong in the horse would, and many horses being treated unfairly. But instead of the horse trying it hardest to survive in this world, we get a whining pony that keeps wondering where that girl is, for years! That is not how animals work, they live in the moment something which was written a whole lot better in the first original movie.

If you want another unnecessary horse girl instantaneous bonding movie then go ahead and watch it, but if you are expecting the movie to actually have a meaning in it somewhere, then you are going to be thoroughly disappointed.

The Big Bang Theory: The Change Constant (2019)
Season 12, Episode 23

Am I the only one that finds it mean?
16 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I thought the episode itself was pretty alright. It's just pretty much every moment including Sheldon or people talking about him that makes me angry.

''But why?'' you may ask, ''Do you really hate the character so much?''

And the thing is, no, not at all. There are enough things about Sheldon that I don't like, and he is surely not my favorite character, but there is one thing that makes that I have much more patience with him then most of the other characters of even the audience seems to have. I know many people with autism, or similar disorders, making it easier for me to understand Sheldon in situations that other people would just see him as weird, rude or difficult. And that's the problem that I have with this episode.

Sheldon gets overwhelmed by everything that happens and doesn't quite know what to do. Many people, autistic or not, have problems with change. So a big change like this, even if it is because of something positive, can be quite overwhelming or scary, but almost everyone just says that he is being difficult or overreacting, the most help he gets is the conversation with Penny, and she isn't even actively trying to help him but is using his distress to fuel her drinking game.

And at the same time Amy decides that now, when her husband is stressed, scared and overwhelmed by all the changes, is the time to stop taking his feelings into account and just do it how she (or actually all of them) want to, even if that upsets him. And it is true that they shouldn't make themselves very uncomfortable just to please him, but why do they decide to do this immediately and at the very worst time, instead of having done this ages ago or waiting just a couple more weeks.

And Amy knew that Sheldon was like this when she married him, the fact that she now changes herself into a completely different person(outward appearance, behavior, etc.) and doesn't want to adjust herself to her husbands needs anymore, feels very mean. She knows him, she knows he always has had trouble with change, why not take his wishes into account and just slowly change some things, giving him some time to adjust before doing to next thing, this way she gets what she want and he doesn't get overly stressed. The ''many 300 tiny haircuts over a 10 year period'' comment of Amy was an insane exaggeration.

Now it feels like Sheldon made the decision that Amy was the woman he could feel safe with and that he could grow old with and married her, only for her to change completely into a person he might not feel safe and understood with at all.

Pretty much just annoying
29 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
When I went to watch the movie I was promised a strong independent woman. A woman who doesn't need a man, who learns to survive in the salesworld run by man and sends away workers who don't respect her. Except that is not the story at all. It starts that way, sure, but within minutes she shows her true self. She is a woman who barely makes any decisions of her own, and sometimes even active asks man to choose for her! She says she doesn't need a man but very quickly marries a man she barely knows and has never really shown any respect to her at all! Every time she speaks to any of the 3 main guys she acts like a crushing schoolgirl, either not saying a word or being easily flustered. The whole story is pretty much just three guys fighting for a woman who says she doesn't need a man. You could have replaced her with a sack of potatoes and it would have barely affected the plot.

Also, when she eventually chooses the shepherd(seeing as the soldier is dead and the rich guy is in jail, so not really an active decision), she is pretty much begging him to stay, offering him everything. Nothing strong about it, it any way.

Clearly a woman written by a man.

Somewhat awful
29 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
To be honest the episode was not that horrible just many parts of it were. I think you could very much enjoy it if this was the first one you ever watched. The music is pretty alright and the beginning was good. The fact that some one gets shot(though it not the person who ran unprotected at a guy firing a machine gun)is something I feel happens way to little. It doesn't have to be such a dangerous thing as this one is(near an artery), it can just be a shot that isn't at a dangerous place, or even one that didn't get through the protective vest, real cops get shot all the time, and I find it a bit unrealistic that they almost never do.

But the problem is that the characters act very out of character and some things just don't make sense. The fact that Deeks feels its better to call of the wedding because they don't agree on want they want in the future(an indeed very imported thing, and a good reason to reconsider. Except for the fact that after this episode it is NEVER mentioned again, so the problem was only created for cheap tension)and Kensi being shocked at this and seeing that as blackmailing... I've never seen them communicate so poorly and Kensi react so dumb.

The rest of the team is supporting Mosley, I don't know why as she has almost always been mean or disrespectful or bossy to them and she is now constantly threatening them if they don't do all the illegal stuff she wants them to do. Why is everybody so okay with that(except for Deeks)? And I would expect some of them to simply say No and say they rather be fired than do something like this.

What also didn't make sense is the fact that Mosley is constantly saying she is doing all this to save her son(while I agree with Callan, that kid is in no danger, just being with his father, having a pretty good life. It is bad that he doesn't get to see his mother but he is not is real danger), but when she hears his voice she is surprise and says ''I didn't think he was alive''. But if she thought he was dead, then why did she keep saying that she was doing this so save the life of her son.

But the most annoying thing for me this entire episode is Sam. He gets shot and doesn't want anesthesia as they take the bullet out, they do this to make him sound though or strong to us, but it just sounds stupid. Then he gets out of the hospital and takes no care of himself at all! His leg is bleeding, somebody suggests to him to sit down and he doesn't! Why not?! Why would you purposely slow down the healing progress by not sitting while there is a chair right there! This doesn't make him cool and strong, just an idiot. And he wants to go and help 'save' Mosley's kid, but what about his own!! He is all they have, and he is going on a suicide mission. What a horrible father!

Don't like the Nell/Sydney relationship
25 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I liked the idea of getting to know the relationship between Nell and her sister a bit better, but this just doesn't make sense now. Last time Sydney was there we learned she was always hard on Nell because she hoped it would make Nell tougher, Nell then told her that she had never liked the way Sydney had treated her, sorry's were said and the problem was somewhat solved.

But now her relationship with Sydney is completely different!

Sydney is still somewhat bullying Nell though it is now about her being Togo, like when they were little, something mentioned in the other episode as well but it was just a part of the things Sydney did to make Nell 'tougher'. But now when she is told off by Eric and Nell comes to find her after running away, she says something about that she always hurts people without meaning to. But that was never a problem, the times she had been mean to Nell when they were little was deliberate to 'help' her, so since when is this a problem she isn't aware off and has with everyone. Also they put in the cliché 'People always liked you, you were always the best in things, you always had the high grades' kind of jealousy with has no business being here and is completely forgotten the rest of the episode! And why do we end with:

'I didn't like being Togo.' 'Why didn't you say?' 'Because I wanted to spent time with you even if it meant I had to be a dog.'

In the other episode Nell had already told her she didn't like the way Sydney had behaved to her, including the Togo thing, so why do we have to resolve this again? And why is it suddenly about Nell desperately wanting to spent time with her and that being the reason she never said anything, since when was that even a problem? I never heard them mention anything about her barely seeing her sister when she was little or something.

By the way I found the Tiger thing at the end very out of character for Hetty.

Of course it will end well
18 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
To be honest the ending was too obvious. The fact that Mosely didn't want the office decorated was meant to avert expectations, but so many shows do this, so it becomes the thing you expect. Then she small hints of her saying to that she could surprise him and that she told Nell '' I'll make sure it get exactly where it needs to go.'' Is just a bit overkill.

But overall a pretty okay episode. I like the focus on Nell, feel like she doesn't get much at the moment.

They don't really try
5 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I thought the episode was okay, but the ending is kinda weird. Miller's sister asks Kensi to save her brother and Kensi says that they will try EVERYTHING they can to. But as soon as Kensi crawls through the tunnel she should be hearing the same words we are, so she should realize that the threat is already gone because Miller doesn't want to do it anymore and it can't be done with only one person. But sure, it could be she didn't hear that. But she cán see the woman with her back to her, meaning Kensi could very easily just shoot her in the back and Miller would be fine. But no, she throws the grenade. And she doesn't even really check if Miller is dead, she just sees him slumped against a wall and that means he's dead. He could also be unconscious from the blow!

Love at Sunset Terrace (2020 TV Movie)

Not for me
1 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The movie is very cliche and predictable, and the characters are very unbelievable.

Sophie is a amazing woman who is great at her work but can also bake, paint, do yoga, is great with kids, and a ton more.

Spencer is, well not really much, his most defining traits are the fact that he is a widowed father(who's kid it strangely focused on making the two fall in love, not that she really has to do much because they pretty much almost kiss each other before the movie is even at its halfway point) and that he is very protective of his daughter. The problem with this is that he only is protective like this about four times in the entire movie, most of the times at illogical moments, and goes from 0 to 100 and right back to 0.

If you like a simple feel good movie then I guess you could like this. But I find the characters poorly written, the acting very bad and the story a predictable cliche.

Pretty good
17 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I think the episode is pretty good, and the acting is fine. But I do find it is a bit weird, or not Ziva like, to not get angry at her father after they find out his reason for traveling to the US is to ask a favor from Vance, and not just to spent time with Ziva, which he assured her.

All other times that she is lied to by him she gets angry, but now she only gets angry a lot later, after she finds out he lied about the date he got there and the fact that he killed someone.

A bit ridiculous
12 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The episode was pretty alright, maybe not as spectacular as I would have thought, as the season ended with a cliff-hanger, people in danger or near dead, and I would have expected them to show how much it effected everyone or like show any drama at all and instead it is all pretty much solved in the first 10 minutes.

But there is one part that really bothers me. They sent a woman called Lorraine to lure Dearing to a room somewhere. And after he goes to the bathroom for a moment she lets in a couple guys with guns and they shoot at the bathroom door together. Then we notice Dearing has simply snuck out the bathroom windows and planted a bomb that kills the agents. But why didn't they just shoot him while he's looking at the tv's, or have someone standing inside the house so he gets shot as soon as he goes through the door, or shot him through the big window opposite the bed. Or, if they really wanted to shoot him in the bathroom, why didn't they just lock the fricking window! He is known to be a big threat, a smart man. Why would they take the chance?

Bit too much
24 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The episode was pretty good, just didn't like the scene with Gibbs, Tony and the boy. I understand that they need the answers quick, but the way Gibbs is throwing that kid around with his broken collarbone. It is pretty much torture, not to mention that the broken bone can cause internal bleeding.

Why are they so mean?
26 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I though the episode was alright, except a couple times near the end. I mean, there is a moment that Deeks and Kensi are interrogating a boy, they scream and try got get some information out if him but he doesn't tell them anything and eventually just shuts them out and starts humming a song, what we later see his his mom use to calm him down. So to me it is clear now that screaming won't give them any more information. The boy is in so much fear/stress that he has pretty much shut down and desperately tries to calm himself by singing the song. And what does Deeks do? He just shouts even louder and slams the table! This no longer has any use in the interrogation! Its just mental torture like this! I find this very out of character.

Descendants 3 (2019 TV Movie)
3/10
Sadly disappointing
14 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I'm a big fan of Descendants, I loved the first one, thought the second one was fine but was really disappointed with the third one. I don't like most of the song, there are way to many of them as well, and there are just so many weird or illogical things.

When they are at the island of the lost, every kid that is not chosen is still very happy for the other kids and wave and cheer. This is not normal villain kid behavior, when Mal, Evie, Jay and Carlos got out they didn't behave like this at all, but suddenly all the kids are just happy and nice, how can that be? I also think they look very healthy and colorful, making me think that life on the island isn't that bad anymore.

Audrey's grandmother says she is disappointed in Audrey because she should have been the one marrying Ben, making Audrey even more annoyed and causing her says something mean to Mal. Probably meant to show her more 'evil side', except for the fact Audrey has made mean remarks to Mal a thousand times and it has never really meant anything before.

Hades tries to escape and the boys try to stop him by simply running to him(they have no powers) and when they get knocked down Mal changes into a dragon to confront Hades. But instead of letting out some flames or something immediately, Mal waits till she gets attacked by Hades, who tries to drain her powers, and only when her friends ask her to fight back does she let out some hot air, which is strong enough to push Hades back to the other side of the border.

We then go to Audrey who is crying in her room, sad because she wanted to be a queen. The sadness quickly changes to anger and suddenly she is breaking into the museum, stealing not only the crown meant for Auradon's new queen, but also Maleficent's scepter. With like no problem, isn't there even an alarm at the museum? Also, she went from sad to fully evil in like about 10 minutes. This feels extremely forced. I also don't really mind the song but don't like that she is constantly looking at the camera. They never really did that in the other movies and I don't like it here.

Everyone at Auradon is freaking out because Hades was somewhat, not really, almost able to escape. But instead of thinking about bringing guards next time so the opening of the barrier isn't nearly as risky, or trying to make it so that the barrier closes quicker or like anything else, Mal just immediately decides no one is allowed in or out again, ever. Something I don't find fitting with Mal's character.

We then learn, to my opinion quite late, that it's Jane's birthday and Carlos made a cake for her but finds out a piece of it is missing, because two of the new kids ate it. Mal who already has her gift and walks out of the house to go to the party, gets surprised by Audrey. Instead of even trying to use her own powers(she is half fairy and even a demigoddess we learn later), she just stands there while Audray tells her she will make Auradon pay for betraying her. Aurday turns Mal into an 'old hag' which really reminds me of the evil witch from Snow white. Apparently Mal can't reverse the spell because ''only Hades's ember is powerful enough to undo the scepter's magic'', but what about the wand that was so very powerful before?

They decide to go to the Isle to get Hades's ember and Evie helps Mal, who has great trouble walking in her old body, but who has no trouble using it to ride her moterbike later on.

At the Isle of the Lost, Mal is back to her normal self after she crosses the barrier and Celia reminds her that evil magic gets cancelled by the barrier. But if the barrier can cancel out the scepter's magic and the barrier is made with the Fairy godmothers wand, I would think the wand is stronger than the scepter. So they could just use the wand, with is a lot more accessible then Hades' ember.

When Mal and Celia go to Hades' lair they use a weird bicycle powered cart which is just useless, they could have simply walked, and it adds nothing to the story. Mal lets us know that Hades is her father, kinda neutering what happened at the barrier a few days ago, and they talk about they fact that he left her, though Hades says he only left Maleficent. (Where is she by the way? She turned into a purple lizard in the first movie, turned into a green lizard in the second and now we never see her again). They sing a song about it which feels very much like a conversation being sung instead of an actual song, something I didn't like. It also doesn't feel like I'm watching a daughter arguing with her father, I feel no emotion in it, almost only jokes and funny meant remarks.

When exiting the barrier Mal gets a unnecessary custom chance and one again the barrier doesn't close quick enough and every one has their backs turns so they can't stop Harry and Gil from escaping, how do they make that mistake twice? Because Uma get the ember in her hands, she tells Mal that she will help her and give back the ember if Mal allows every kid of the Isle to go to Auradon if they want. But there are probably like a fifty or maybe more children on the island, they don't have so many rooms available at Auradon so soon. And these are still villain kids, how do you keep control of fifty young kids that still have to learn no to steal. But Mal agrees and we get Evie who tries to 'diffuse the tension' but sharing her gum. It is a funny moment that is just forced and out of place.

When they arrive at Auradon, we see Gil is amazed by things like flowers and fruit, and Uma reminds Jay that there is no fruit on the island. But why is there no fruit? Does nothing grow on the Isle of the Lost? So does that means there are no crops what so ever? Do they only eat the meat of seagulls they catch or something? What do they eat?

They go to the Beast Castle to look for Ben and get attacked by armor suits enchanted by Audrey. And Uma and Mal agree to work together for now. And then they defeat the suits.......by making them dance....why? Why can't if be an epic fight? Maybe make us feel like there is actually something at stake, instead of making everything a big joke.

Mal and Uma almost high five, showing they are at least a bit closer, but Evie has to go and wreck it by forcing them to become friends right there. I mean everyone is in danger, and Evie is busy making friends.

The boys find Ben, who has been turned into a beast, and just simply help him get a splinter out of his paw. Jane comes out of nowhere with magic water from the lake that partially changes Ben back and they go back to Evie's house. Like there was no danger, they didn't get attacked by him in beast form even when he was in pain after they pulled the splinter out. What was the use of him being transformed into a beast? There was no tension or drama, everything was fine, the dramatic 'sleeping is too good for you' just meant he had to run around like a beast for a couple of hours.

The girls on the other hand are just busy with Evie who is wondering if she should kiss Doug, and weirdly dances with him while he sleeps and she sings a song. Doug wakes up and everybody is enjoying the birthday cake. WHY IS NO ONE AFRAID? OR EVEN A LITTLE TENSE?

Audrey uses a spell to cover the house its windows and doors with boards but Mal and Uma just easily remove them with another spell. So it is pretty much a useless part in the story.

After everyone gets mad at Mal because she wanted to close the barrier they are suddenly turned to stone. Audrey is apparently just able to do that from far away. WHY DIDN'T SHE DO THAT AT THE BEGINNING? AND WHY DOESN'T SHE TURN MAL TO STONE RIGHT NOW? Mal sings a song that I also find very out of place. She is so calm, just singing about what happened and how she feels. Aurdey just turned your friends into stone! She can very easily do the same to you! Why are you not worried or anything!

Uma doesn't want to help Mal, except after she gets hit one time then she forgives her instantly. They defeat Audrey almost kill her.

Now they bring in Hades because Audrey almost killed everybody but they still want to save her and the only way to do that is with Hades' help.

Hades is confused by why they about Audrey, a "villain", and says that what Audrey has done is considered an error in judgement", while people like him are locked way forever for attempting to do the same thing. Which is not really true. The Isle of the Lost is pretty much a big jail. It is just a jail where the inmates get get kids. Every adult on the Isle was seen as a normal person till they did something wrong. Which is true is the fact that they forgive Audrey way to easily, and that suddenly Audrey is feeling really bad about doing it. She didn't do it while being under a spell, she was aware of every choice she made. The same as the other villains on the Isle. So yeah, she should have gone to jail, even if she felt bad about it.

Then when they celebrate the engagement, Mal tells them that everyone has the capacity for both good and evil, and Hades and the pirates helped save them so the barrier must come down. And everybody is just okay with it and they celebrate as the bridge is restored and all the villains kids come to Auradon. But this is horrible. It is true that everyone has the capacity for both good and evil, but the adult that have been sent to the Isle of the Lost have already shown they are evil. The isle is a prison, don't let everyone evil out just because a couple people helped. It's true they shouldn't have deemed the children as evil as their parents, but that's why in the real world, kids get taken away from their parents in jail when their old enough. Because if they grown up in a prison, they will think this is how life is. And think of all the kids that know go to Auradon that have only learned to be bad from their parents. To steal and deceive. I think its going to be a dark time for Auradon till the kids have learned to behave themselves.
