Young Sheldon: A Clogged Pore, a Little Spanish and the Future (2022)
(Translated from the German original)
Review: #5.22 A puberty pimple and the future
(Translated from the German original)
So we arrived at the season finale of "Young Sheldon" and I'm glad to have already given full points two episodes ago, because this episode had a few tees, even if they have prepared some storylines for the upcoming sixth season, and so this season finale was not so strong after all.
Sheldon in puberty
In "The Big Bang Theory" episode#8.23 Mothers in Turmoil,Sheldon and Beverly addressed the topic of puberty. The latter had noticed that Sheldon did not look happy in a photo and he postponed it to puberty, which Mary commented by saying that her son does not like changes. The season finale of "Young Sheldon" deals with this puberty and I can say that Sheldon is really not happy about it. However, Steven Moralo had already announced that the spin-off would see a shift in perspective. Because while I had the impression with the mother series that it would be funny that Sheldon is so childish and does not like changes, "Young Sheldon" makes it clear to us why Sheldon was sad and that it did not necessarily have anything to do with the physical change.
Both Missy and Sheldon have been aware for quite some time that the house blessing in the family is crooked and that their parents do not really talk to them about it or, as in this episode, somehow do not talk to the twins at all, except that Sheldon has a pimple and thus enters puberty. But I thought it was good that with Grant and Linda he had two people who agreed (albeit reluctantly) to talk to Sheldon about puberty in their possibilities. It was perfectly clear to me that they were reminiscing themselves and I also found it very entertaining, as Grant noted, that he was no longer the guy he was back then.
But this also had the consequence that Sheldon dreamed of his future and it was quite strange to suddenly see him as George, Mary, Connie and Georgie. In the end, however, it also made for a wonderful and sensitive scene between him and Missy. As I said recently, Missy is the link with the siblings, because Sheldon is now afraid that a) not only his childhood is over, but b) also that he will not be able to achieve his goals. Thanks to "The Bing Bang Theory", however, we know that he has actually achieved all this little by little and that Missy, except Connie, is probably the person in the family who trusts Sheldon the most, which also refers to the magical bond between twins.
Mary works with Brenda
I still can't believe that Pastor Jeff actually fired Mary and I hope that will change in the upcoming season, but right now that's the state of affairs, but it's also important. Recently it was said that the marriage crisis of George and Mary will continue and that will change the perspective and this is exactly the direction in which they are heading all too closely. Because while Brenda and George haven't had anything to do with each other for a long time, because George has the impression that Brenda turned him on, Mary still doesn't know about this 'flirtation' at the end of season 4 and the guilt feelings of both.
On the one hand, I also think it's good that Mary has looked for a new job, even if I can hardly imagine her in the bowling hall. On the other hand, Brenda's behavior also suggests that the whole situation is quite uncomfortable for her and frankly, their cooperation only gets the ball rolling even more. I can imagine that the relationship of trust between the two women will only become closer now and at some point the topic will come up and what will happen between the Coopers... No, I'd better not think about that yet, because it will probably be bad either way.
To be honest, I feel really sorry for George. I can understand that Mary wants to encourage him to look for a new job, but I wouldn't find it so great in the supermarket either. Not because it's not honorable work, but because George's scar is still fresh and I think he has every right in the world to bathe a bit in self-pity. Considering that he has already turned down two offers to coach at another high school or university, it's really damn hard to lose his job, where he has been active for years and above all that no one has informed him beforehand, neither Wayne nor Tom and both always come to poker, to drink beer and call themselves friends. I don't know, but I can understand George that he doesn't want to give himself the nakedness to always meet his old colleagues in the supermarket.
Been arrested
Let's get to the storyline, which unfortunately I couldn't get too much out of, which I actually think is a pity, because I think Connie is really cool. I think it's great that Georgie is trying to earn more money because he's going to be a father and yet has a sense of responsibility. But Georgie is also a lovable idiot who likes to think up nonsense, or gets carried away to it. I wonder why Connie didn't use the car ride to really talk to her grandson, who is now afraid of not grabbing fatherhood. Instead, she makes fun of him that everything will be better when 50 years have passed and the children have grown up and because that's not enough, they were arrested in Mexico. The Coopers really don't have a winning streak right now.
Marginal note
I liked the fact that they moved Teller, who also plays Sheldon's father-in-law in "The Big Bang Theory", and Penn Jillette as A. V. to illustrate Sheldon's pimple drama.
Result
I have to admit, when I read the teaser for the season finale, I already knew it wasn't going to be as good as season 4's. I'm not really sad about it, because the rest of the season has been really strong and convincing. And the finale has also prepared the story arcs for the new season, which will also strike a more serious note, but I'm curious to see how everything will be implemented.

The War Game (1966)
Saw this as a teen, scared the sh** out of me
Saw this as a teen, scared the sh** out of me and has stayed with me forever. Now in my 70's, in 2022, Putin is threatening the same thing, with much more powerful weapons.
Nuclear war was on everyone's mind at that time, Cold War getting hot. Lived near our local police station and they would test their Air-raid siren monthly or so. Scary, 'is it a test or is it a missile warning'. We were told we had maybe 15 minutes warning, but only 2.5 minutes for submarine launches.
No-one expected to survive a nuclear attack, but this film showed the horror that would probably follow if you did
In terms of a film review, it was very realistic, documentary fashion, black and white and generally understated in terms of the horror
My first time sending a review so apologise for rambling memory of seeing it on its release.
Kitchen Nightmares: Dillons (2007)
Episode missing from All4 catalog... why ?
I'm sure that I have seen the name purmina while watching this program. However this episode S1E4 is missing from those available on the all4 streaming service.. Sometimes what is not said is more revealing than what is not said ?
We know what we know, we don't know what we don't know, etc. Do we know what we don't know what we know or don't know ?
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Moo Moo (2017)
Black lives matter
Saw this today, a few days after Chauvin was found guilty of the murder of George Flloyd a year ago.
I can never feel the same about police kneeling on the necks of our black brothers. I may be white but I stand with We the people...

Who Is America? (2018)
Just not funny, never laughed, never smiled
Just not funny, never laughed, never smiled...
...don't get me wrong, I have laughed with aliG etc but this "forced" twist on what they meant to say isn'y funny, it is just sad. And while we can hate the twistees, there is no humour left in the situation.
So a valuable social exercise but not funny. Just very very sad.
And hopefully that is the point of the whole exercise.
Bye sasha... hard to watch
