Fantastic Four (2005)
You people are stupid
Why are there people here who hate this movie? It was a pretty good movie and not at all a piece of garbage like Scary Movie, and all those other dumb movies that people patronize. And its not just this movie. People have also found reasons to hate movies like Are we There Yet and King Kong, movies meant to be comedy, family, and romance for all kinds of stupid reasons. In my personal opinion, they need their heads examined! I don't mean to go off topic, but really! People can be so stupid sometimes. If they are going to criticize a movie, they should at least see it before they spit out all these things. Getting back on topic, Fantastic 4 is a good movie, although it might be a little scary if you're under 13.
Are We There Yet? (2005)
Nick shouldn't have done that
I liked this movie,it was very good, but I have one complaint: that part with the deer where Nick gets Kevin to feed it a cookie. Feeding wild animals people food is a very bad idea. By doing so, you can cause it to rely on handouts, and the animal stops following its natural diet. Also, the animal could hurt you. So, even if Lindsay didn't make the deer all crazy by taking its picture, it would probably have ended up hurting someone anyway. And that's another thing, didn't Lindsay realize that it was her taking the deer's picture that made it act like that? Why didn't she just stop taking pictures? However, this is still a very good and funny movie, and I recommend watching it.
The Ant Bully (2006)
Pleasantly Surprised
I have to say, when I saw this movie, I was pleasantly surprised with it. The movie had a good plot, and they did very well with the ants. I mean, they worked together, and they were able to sense danger and stuff like that. I think the only thing they did wrong was putting a lot of male ants in the movie. In real life, ant colonies have little or no males. This movie wasn't in any way, a rip-off of Antz. A great family flick, great for kids (of all ages) and in general, a very good movie. My favorite line: Zoc: Curse you rock! A curse upon your children! Hova: Zoc, I don't think rocks have children. Zoc: (throws rock to the ground) They don't now!
Back to the Future (1985)
Time Travel?! Woo Hoo!
Now, I haven't actually seen this movie yet, but it sounds absolutely amazing. I mean, a boy of the eighties traveling thirty years back in time and meeting his parents as teenagers? FANTASTIC!!! What I wouldn't give to travel through time at will! The whole 'Darth Vader from planet Vulcan' joke sounds pretty funny too. And two sequels?! Wow! And I thought this movie was cool! It still is, but, you know? I would really like to see this movie, so I will see if I can catch it on T.V. I would definitely recommend this movie to Sci-Fi fans of any age. It has a great plot, and some funny quotes, sounds like. I would say it is at least worth a look.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006)
Typical Jack
Jack Sparrow continues to be full of surprises. I knew he was crazy, but I didn't think he was stupid enough to make a deal with Davy Jones. That's actually no surprise though, he'd trade anything for the Black Pearl, even his very soul. This is a great movie, however, and I enjoyed it a lot. However; I do have a couple problems with it: 1. That part in the beginning where the guy gets his eye pulled out by a crow was very graphic (I'm deadly afraid of crows now). and 2. Why was no one surprised to see Pintel and Ragetti again? They were part of Barbossa's crew. Did anyone even recognize them? Here's an alternate scene I came up with which I think they could have done:
Elizabeth Swann: (seeing Pintel and Ragetti again for the first time) You! Pintel: Oh, you remember us poppet? (Elizabeth slaps him and Ragetti) Ragetti: I take it that's a yes.
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
Two things
First of all, did anyone notice that there was a reference to Star Wars: Return of the Jedi in this movie? Eowyn: No, I'm going to save you. Theoden: You already did. In Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, there was a scene with dialogue very similar to that. Luke Skywalker: No, I have to save you. Anakin Skywalker\Darth Vader: You already have.
Second, I have an alternate scene for when Frodo, Sam, and Gollum are in the cave and Gollum is trying to get the ring:
Frodo holds the ring above the lava. Frodo Baggins: You want this? Gollum growls. Frodo Baggins: Come get it then! Drops the ring. Gollum: NO! NO! MY PRECIOUS! Jumps in after the ring.
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)
Swashbuckling adventure!
This is one of my favorite movies. It mostly centers around 'Captain' Jack Sparrow, who is obsessed with rum and is as crazy as they come. He also has his good and bad parts (like a Han Solo from an alternate dimension :-D), courageous and selfless blacksmith Will Turner, and Elizabeth Swann, the beautiful daughter of Governor Swann. Captain Barbossa was an excellent villain, the kind of person you love to hate. Pintel and Ragetti also added a fair share of comedy relief to the movie, especially Ragetti. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys pirate movies. Believe me, you won't be disappointed. Also, be sure to stick around after the end credits for an additional scene.
Scooby-Doo (2002)
Not bad
This is a pretty good movie. Sure it's goofy and freaky in some parts, but it's not stupid like some other movies (coughSCARYMOVIEcough). I think the actors they got to play the Mystery Inc. gang matched their characters personalities very well, especially the actors playing Shaggy and Scooby. It was very funny when Fred and Daphne were in each other's bodies and the Daemen Ritus (is that how you spell it?) kept switching everyone's protoplasm around. It was also pretty cool when Daphne, the one who always ends up the damsel in distress, was fighting, and beat, the masked wrestler. She's actually the one who ended up saving the day, if you really look at it. And Scrappy as a villain? I didn't even think that was possible. Well done guys, well done.
Titanic (1997)
I will never watch this movie
Okay now, before everyone comes at me with knives, I just want to say that this sounds like a pretty good movie. I mean, it centers around the developing relationship between a rich girl and a poor boy on the ship that struck an iceberg and took many passengers along with her. I heard about this movie from the time I was a little girl and it struck me as interesting. I am also a big fan of Celine Dion and I love her song "My heart will go on," the song I have always remembered as the 'Titanic song'. However, this movie sounds just a little too risqué' for my taste, like when Rose attempts to commit suicide, and when she and Jack have sex. I may change my mind sooner or later, but for now, that is my personal opinion.
Eragon (2006)
Why all the hate?
Okay, I will start by saying that I liked this movie. My cousin has the book and he let me borrow it. I finished it two days before we went to see the movie, and I will admit that the directors did make mistakes, like making Eragon 17 instead of 15 and frankly, I was quite disappointed with the Urgals. However, it was a very good movie anyway, and it is bound to be thrilling for people who haven't read the book. And to people out there who think that it's a cheap knock-off for Star Wars: A New Hope or Lord of the Rings, it is not. All the elements just go together really well. I also really liked Saphira, not just because she is a dragon, but because she is a very complex character. She can be gentle and majestic at the same time. So all of you haters out there, shut your mouths and get a life.
The Polar Express (2004)
So much is left out
Let me just start by saying that this is a great holiday movie. I was glad to see it. However, so many things are left out of the movie. First of all, none of the characters (except for Santa Claus and Sarah) are named. Second, there is no back story at all for the boy hero (I don't know this for sure, I didn't see all of the movie). Third, we don't learn squat about the hobo. He's just there and he makes brief appearances. And there's that line he says to the boy hero, "Do you believe in ghosts?" Does that mean that he is a ghost? After all, he just keeps disappearing. I think the movie probably would have done better if they did these things.
The Pacifier (2005)
Shane reminds me of my Uncle Carl
You know, while I was watching this movie, I noticed how disciplined and commanding he is, and it reminded me of my Uncle Carl (on my mother's side). I find that kind of funny, because my uncle is just like that. He isn't a Navy SEAL or anything, but he's all disciplined and stuff like that too. Whenever my brother and cousins and I visit my grandma's farm for a few days, everything is all order there because my uncle stays there. I find it easy to imagine him as a Navy Seal and being able to fight and stuff like that though. Now, before I get completely off topic, I would like to say that this is a good movie, very funny, and a great family flick.
King Kong (2005)
How could anybody hate this movie?
Okay, I've read some of the hateful comments some (I said SOME) of you said about this movie and what I don't understand is how anyone could hate it. It's a beautiful masterpiece and one of my favorite movies. It has an amazing plot, with Kong and Ann developing a romantic connection, and its special effects are sure as heck better than those from the 1933 version. So, if you can honestly say that you hate this movie deep down in your heart, I can only assume that something is wrong with you. I mean, listen to all the things you put up 'this movie is racist', 'how can a gorilla get that big', and my personal favorite (being sarcastic) 'how can a gorilla fall in love with a human'. Well, you're just an insensitive jerk if you aren't in tears by the end of this movie. My only complaint, it was very sad in the end when Kong died. Otherwise, I give it a ten out of ten.
Monster-in-Law (2005)
This is a PG-13 film?
When I saw this movie, I didn't know what to think. Sure, it had a good plot, and it is kinda funny in parts, but in my personal opinion, it had way too many sex references to be a PG-13 film. Now, I am 15 and old enough to watch PG-13 films, but this movie, for me, was just a little too risqué'. I am pretty sure that it would do well without all the sex references (not to mention cursing words). The idea of a woman trying to scare off her son's fiancée by becoming the world's worst mother-in-law is hilarious, and the movie had a pretty good ending, but with all the sex references, I think it almost got an R rating. This is just my opinion, though, you can feel free to agree or disagree as you please.
Jumanji (1995)
Imaginative (spoiler)
This is probably one of the most imaginative movies I have seen in a while. I mean, it has an entire back story, as we can see in the beginning, when those two kids are trying to get rid of the game. Then it goes to 1969, when Alan finds the game, he and Sarah start playing, and he gets sucked into Jumanji. Then, throughout the rest of the movie, Alan comes out of the jungle and he, Sarah, Judy, and Peter continue playing the game and unleashing all these dangerous animals (and Van Pelt) and the monsoon and killer plants into the city. And at the end, those kids in Japan find the game. Very well thought out. Certainly worth a look.
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Palpatine is a monster
Even if you haven't seen Episodes 4, 5, and 6, you can tell that Palpatine is up to no good from the start. We can often see him filling Anakin's mind with (dark)amibition by telling him that he will become the powerful Jedi ever and stuff like that, and we know that he is the Emperor and he is really powerful and stuff like that, so he probably gave Anakin that premonition he got of Padme dying in childbirth, which led to him betraying the Jedi and becoming Darth Vader. To everyone out there who used to like Anakin, I just beg you to please not hate him for turning evil. It was all Palpatine's fault. He turned him against everyone he ever cared about, and he is so full of evil, greed, and cruelty that even the devil would hate him. I know I do.
Shark Tale (2004)
Am I the only one who liked this movie?
I just don't understand why you people hated this film. I mean, the plot was pretty good, and it teaches an important lesson: lying brings nothing but trouble. This is a kids' movie, they wouldn't just go out screaming 'homosexuality is good!". Are you trying to stereotype against vegetarians of something? Cause that's what it sounds like to me! I am putting this post up because I liked the movie and I don't like hearing all this hating! You just have to search for flaws, don't you? If a movie's good, it's good, and if it's bad, it's terrible, but you just have to find every single fault. I just don't get how you can hate a good movie like Shark Tale but love bad movies. Whatever, you're lost. X-(
Scary Movie 4 (2006)
Stupidest Movie ever!
This is probably the stupidest movie ever created since Ace Ventura and Bruce Almighty. I wouldn't even have gone to see it, but my dad encouraged me to. I really regretted it though. I found myself bowing my head through most of the movie to avoid seeing it and got a neckache. This movie is so horrible that my mother would have gotten a heart attack watching it. It's so bad that I am surprised that it didn't get an X-rating. I don't even know why you people like this garbage. I don't even know why you make movies like this. I have seen better things in the sewer. It is so horrible that it almost makes 'Dumb and Dumber' look good.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005)
Kooky, kooky,kooky
This movie is probably the kookiest one I have ever seen. I'm not complaining though, it is very funny (and a heck of a lot better than those Scary Movies!). Well, actually, I do have a couple complaints: their spaceship looked pretty stupid and the aliens were some of the fakest I have ever seen. But the plot is pretty good, and the characters were pretty funny, especially Zaphod. It's actually quite ironic once you think about it, I mean, everyone has bad days. For Arthur Dent, this is probably the worst. He finds out that his friend is an alien, his home planet gets blown up, he winds up traveling through space with some strange characters, and he never gets his tea! I have not read the book, but this movie was so good, I suspect the book wasn't anything less. However wrote it must have had a pretty wild imagination. I enjoyed the movie a lot.
