You People (2023)
Painfully unfunny.
Yay! More tired clichés coupled with a very weak (and cheap) storyline. We viewed this as an attempt to discredit stereotypes, but instead it reinforced (and even expanded on) stereotypes in a very painful way. We watched this based on what we previously perceived as quality actors. We'll look at reviews more carefully before viewing future movies starring Loius-Dreyfus and Hill. The script was weak. The scene transitions are bizarre and abrupt. I almost laughed once. It's sad that in 2023, this is the best Hollywood can create to attempt to bring us all together. It actually creates MORE division in my eyes. Definitely a missed opportunity. Pass on this one.
The Gray Man (2022)
Yawn.
It says a lot that a movie with extreme amounts of action and incredible 3D effects could be so boring. Typical modern day formula of canned storylines and over-the-top ridiculous action scenes. It's the same reason I can't bear to watch the Mission: Impossible movies. Hollywood really needs to get back to being creative. We've seen this type of "entertainment" too many times already.
Outside (2021)
Interesting film.
I was reluctant to view this film at first, based on the lower score. I really liked the strong character interactions between the lead actors. The storyline was good after you get used to the slower pace. Very impressed!
The First Lady (2022)
Very enjoyable
Fine acting coupled with a beautiful production and interesting views. Looking forward to more episodes! Gillian Anderson gave an incredible performance!
Ambulance (2022)
Shaky cameras, ridiculously over the top action and a yawner of a script.
A few things come to mind after attempting to sit through this mess of a film:
1) Extreme amounts of crashes, spewing blood and rapid fire guns cannot make a really lame script appealing.
2) Continuously shaking the camera is nauseating to the viewers.
3) Two hours is too long to spend on a story we seem to have seen many times over.
4) Sadly, It's no wonder we see so many people resorting to gun violence in the real world.
5) What was Gyllenhaal thinking when he took on this project?
6) I determined it IS possible to be extremely over-stimulated (with violence), and yet, be SO bored.
What the hell happened to American filmmaking?
Uncharted (2022)
Gave up trying to endure this...
This film lost me at the beginning with the ridiculous airplane/sky jumping scenes.
It's insulting to the viewers. I also felt embarrassed for the actors.
These same waaaaay-over-the-top action scenes are the reason I can no longer watch the Mission Impossible movies.
I assume they were aiming for a (very) young audience? If not, oh boy!
Hard pass on this one.
Friends with Better Lives (2014)
Lame, contrived jokes with overpowering laugh track.
Yawn. Grade school humor with cheesy 80s situations. The very loud laugh track was annoying. Barely made it through the pilot episode. I felt my IQ drop while trying to endure this mess.
Marry Me (2022)
Mind-numbing stupidity.
This plot type has been poorly reworked what seems like a million times. Predictable after the first few minutes. It kills your brain cells. Is this seriously the best Hollywood can do?
The Humans (2021)
Dreadful.
The movie is like eavesdropping on an apartment of very boring characters with mostly meaningless dialogues. The extremely slow pace was painful. I actually cheered when the closing credits appeared.
The Skin of the Teeth (2018)
A movie without a plot.
It started off interesting, then floundered through nothingness. I feel cheated.
West Hollywood Motel (2013)
Painfully unfunny.
Some of the guys are cute, but the story is not.. Not sure how they got funding for this.
