The Driller Killer (1979)
Embarrassingly bad
This film is notorious only because of the huge fuss that accompanied its release. It certainly isn't because of the effects, set or acting. It's laughably bad, almost like a bunch of six formers with a Cine camera. I give it 3/10 for silly entertainment value.
24 Hours in Police Custody (2014)
One of the best programmes on TV
Gripping, unpredictable, shocking. A fantastic insight into the Police in Beds/Cambs. Unmissable TV.
Things Heard & Seen (2021)
Starts well but all downhill after that
Poor script, so-so acting, terrible ending. Very disappointing.
Ozark (2017)
Up there with the very best
This show is an absolute revelation. Completely gripping, superbly cast and acted, wonderful characters in clever storylines and a real pervading sense of tension and fear. It is very violent but I just couldn't stop watching. TV at its best. Don't miss it.
Cobra Kai (2018)
I don't know how it works so well but it does!
It's a bit silly and over the top sometimes but it is hugely entertaining. It's a great laugh and combines just enough reminiscing with a new story to grab the viewer. Hope they make another series.
Frasier (1993)
A spin off that may be even better than the epic original
Great storylines, brilliant casting and acting and genuinely funny and warm comedy makes this one of the best sitcoms ever made. The depth of the characters and their interactions is what sets this show apart. I loved Cheers and thought it couldn't be surpassed but I think Frasier might have just done that. It has just the right mix of the old and the new and is brilliantly made. It will be sorely missed!
Joker (2019)
Not as great as I expected
I expected great things from this film but, to be honest, it didn't quite live up to the hype. It's pretty good and Joaquin Phoenix is phenomenal in it but it just didn't grab me the way I thought it would.
Knives Out (2019)
Outstanding
Not really a fan of Rian Johnson after his Star Wars abomination but I have to tip my hat to him here. This film has it all; fantastic casting, acting, directing and writing. It builds to an absolute crescendo with twists that keep you guessing at every step. It's simply brilliant and I can't recommend it enough.
Last Christmas (2019)
So bad it'll make you wish electricity had never been invented, never mind film
Sanctimonious claptrap. Poorly acted, predictable, hammy, contrived, trite, preachy, PC nonsense. Just dreadful - you'll never get the time back, so swerve it.
Love the Coopers (2015)
It's quite boring
It's well acted, with a stellar cast but.... it's just rather dull. Save yourself a couple of hours and skip it. Wish I had.
The Last Leg (2012)
So woke it's unfunny
The usual woke, lefty, lecturing, virtue-signalling BS that clogs up TV schedules now. This particular one has the added bonus of not being particularly funny, despite the best efforts of the "comedians" presenting it and their echo chamber guests. Drivel. Avoid.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
Oh dear....
Just complete and utter nonsense. As if no one involved in making this awful, convoluted mash of a film knew anything about Star Wars at all and got all their information on the subject from a drunk madman. It's boring, badly acted, poorly cast and has huge plot holes but the worst part is the writing. Star Wars is dead and nitwits Johnson and Kennedy, backed by Dismalney are to blame. Avoid if you can. That's it for me, no more SW now it's been hi jacked!
