You (2018)
Repetitive and boring because of it
I'm into the second series to see if we'd have a new storyline, but no, Joe continues his killing spree of someone every second episode on average and it's just more of the same stalking someone who he gets together with at the drop of a hat. It's reasonable writing, but there's so many times when I think "why would do you that?" or "how did you manage to achieve that given the circumstances?".
There are large holes in the storylines because of this and it's just the same kind of thing over and over.
The Mist: Pequod (2017)
It gets worse as it goes on
I've got this far with this series but I can't take it any more. It's badly written with responses being really predictable as well as the storylines. It just doesn't feel realistic at all. It also annoys me how the extras, who can't say anything are standing there looking awkward, probably thinking "It would be good if we interjected here, but we can't."
You just know that something is going to happen with the way the direction sets it up.
I suppose it's okay for people who don't think deeply and want cheap entertainment, but that's all you're going to get.
The Invention of Lying (2009)
The Invention of Not Being Able To Internalise Your Thoughts
This is really poor as it starts out by explaining what the premise of the film is (inability to lie) but then immediately becomes all about not being able to keep any information from others. Just because people might think some things, it doesn't mean that they'd have to say them and a lot of the time they are saying things that would be in their subconscious only.
This made is very annoying for me and I couldn't watch the whole film because it it just over the top and stupid.
I gave it 3 stars just in case there waere any redeeming qualities that I didn't watch.
Fargo: Who Rules the Land of Denial? (2017)
Descending into farce
I've felt this series gradually gets worse and this episode is farcical. The scene where the two prisoners are in the forest is just ridiculous and childish, with the crazy fighting scenes. Nikki recovers amazingly quickly after getting a crossbow bolt in her leg and the employee in the bowling alley just passively serves the people covered in blood?
I thought David Lynch had directed this as a lot of it doesn't make proper sense and seems to have been put in just for the sake of it. As it progressed, I was just getting fed up with it. Rather poor.
