Found (2023)
guilty pleasure
It's a pretty ridiculous show, and probably isn't realistic at all. But it's incredibly entertaining and has a good message. There's plot twists, mysteries, and honestly some episodes have me on the edge of my seat. It's a pretty simple episode structure, but the character backstories and traumas make the show for sure. But at its core, it is a found family feel-good show that is about working through trauma and mental health. Margaret's storyline is maybe the saddest, and it's the most believable and best acted. And Gabi's relationship with Sir is just so compelling, it really makes the show. Who knew Zack Morris would make such a convincing kidnapper?
Regardless, this is a show I tune in every week for. It has literally everything.
Being Human: The Wolf-Shaped Bullet (2011)
An episode I will never be able to rewatch
Saddest, most heartbreaking episode of the series. Mitchell became my favorite character throughout the last season, and although I knew he would die, I still didn't want it to happen! It's a bittersweet moment, and yes I did cry, but it had to happen. Still, one of the most beautiful moments in the show, all three of the main cast really showed their acting chops. This episode reminded me of their chemistry, and why they all worked so well together! Of course it's disappointing that Mitchell left the show, but in the context of the final season, it made sense, and he got to act his ass off in the process.
Being Human (2008)
Never has there been a more perfect show
Being Human has no doubt become my favorite show. How lovable and funny are all three of the main cast? Yet despite its lightheartedness and hysterical moments shared by even the evilest of villains, I found myself extremely emotional during dialogue and exchanges between characters. It's a show that has everything, you'll be laughing one moment and crying the next, but that is what makes this show so perfect.
I agree with other reviewers. You don't really need to watch past season 3, it's finale ends in a bittersweet but good way.
I highly recommend the show, if you're looking for a fun and creative fantasy, you can stop here because you've found it!
The Sandman (2022)
Perfect
A perfect adaptation of the comics, the casting is on point! The story is captivating, the CGI is very impressive for a Netflix show, and I feel completely immersed in this world! I am especially impressed with the actor who plays the Corinthian, hard to make a nasty character likable and yet he is able to pull it off perfectly! I was a bit nervous of Lucienne's gender swap from the comics, but I absolutely love her! Wow, this show has just exceeded my expectations. If this show is not renewed by Netflix, there is no hope for this world.
Also, the musical score is absolutely beautiful! The original music is absolutely magical, and surely adds to the story. Definitely will be listening on spotify to some of the songs, the composer did a fantastic job!
Dead End: Paranormal Park (2022)
Fantastic!
Fun show for all ages! I read the graphic novels the series was based on when they were first published and fell in love, not to mention watched the original short that started it all! So it's amazing to see how the story has developed over time. I'm in love with the animation style, and the world-building is fantastic. The characters are funny, lovable, and relatable, I guarantee everyone can find at least one character they see themselves in! I hope Netflix will keep this one around, it's so well done! Great story, great art, and great representation. It's well worth your time!
Saturday Night Live: Rami Malek/Young Thug (2021)
Great episode!
Fantastic episode! Rami Malek was hysterical and the rest of the cast was just as good! The sketches had me in tears, and that doesn't happen often. Looking forward to the rest of the season!
Luca (2021)
So charming
This was such a sweet film. It felt so well created, and I loved the more cartoony art style, it felt so unique and sweet. The characters were adorable, and I actually teared up at the end (I guess it isn't a pixar movie if you don't lol). It gave me much needed Studio Ghibli vibes. Don't go in expecting an intense conflict, it's more based on the characters and their relationships, but I loved it regardless. I highly recommend the film, it was the perfect way to start the summer!
Saturday Night Live: Regina King/Nathaniel Rateliff (2021)
Enjoyable
Not a bad episode in the slightest, there were some good ones like the elbow skit or the gorilla glue skit. I enjoyed it, and Regina King is very good!
Resident Alien (2021)
Hysterical Fun
Been looking forward to the series ever since it was advertised and can say I am not disappointed. Alan Tudyk is absolutely hysterical, he's got me dying of laughter more than once each episode. So far, every character is very lovable in their own way, and I love their interactions. There's some aspects of the plot that are predictable, but it's entertaining regardless. Highly recommend this funny and heartwarming show!
Good Girls (2018)
So Good!!
This is such a fantastic show, so wonderful that I've rewatched it twice! The three main characters are so wonderful, they are strong and smart, and also incredibly likable! There are several laugh out loud moments, but also moments I've found myself crying or even yelling at the TV plot twist after plot twist. It never jumps the shark, there's never a dull moment either. I've never found myself skipping through any episodes or any moments, it's so captivating and I love every second of it!!!
