Parents ruined season 4
23 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I have watched the first 3 seasons with pleasure. But now in season 4, I lost interest. The parents had withdrawn from the buisness. But they couldn't let their sons shine. They had to come back. That showed me, they are not that nice. They are very domineering, especially the father. They have gotten rich because of the series, but still couldn't let their sons have the chance to run things. I can feel, I don't want to watch the parents anymore. I think this return is very detrimental for the show. It's a step back, and just more of the same. They aren't really such a happy family. There's lots of tension. The parents don't listen to the sons. They don't consider them. I don't like them anymore. And this is the kind of series that is relying on the people creating sympathy. I think the show is on the way down. Maybe the last season. Or next to last for sure.

Very little about the experiment
5 January 2024
I object to the presentation of this series. It says, it's about the experiment. But it's not. Except for episode 1, there is hardly anything about the participants. It's about how bad the food industry is, and how bad meat is for you. I agree absolutely that the meat industry is very bad. The word alone tells you that. But it's the skewed info on the series I don't like. Just say it upfront. We want to convince you, that veganism is best. You should not eat meat. We will show you a lot of bad things about the food industry, in order to make you change to vegan. That is the point of the series.

Disappointed
24 July 2023
I always love watching Michel Roux. And I thought, these must be really top chefs to be considered for this position. But they are not. I can't believe any one of them could run a 5 star restaurant at a luxury hotel. I don't think the winner will be there for long. I certainly would not pay a fortune to eat that person's food. I kind of didn't believe it. The whole thing was kind of stupid. Very inexperienced chefs. I don't understand, why one has to write such long reviews on here. It's really stupid. What more should I say? Michel Roux did not look best pleased, and I understand him. A joke.

The music is awful
3 February 2023
I loved the original series. And there is nothing wrong with this one, except for the music. It turns it into something soppy. It's very loud, very dominant. Very sentimental. I used to love British drama series. But I don't know what's gotten into them. They have some new sound people who seem to think, the music is the main thing. It's not. And that the music should be some sentimental, nondescript run of the mill string music. I hate it. I am watching now. There is not a quiet moment. I don't think I can stick it out. The old one was better anyway. More humour, more comedy. These reviews should not have to be so long.

Just fantastic!
25 September 2022
I seldom give a 10, but this series deserves it. It's just life, real life. A great script with superb acting. Nicola Walker is so popular now, and for a reason. You just believe her. Bean is no less good, they are ALL good. I can't understand the low rating. It must be from people who like slick tv series with beautiful people describing a fictive world. This series is about how things really are. All the little things going on between us. And about true love, the kind of love that lasts. I haven't experienced it myself, but I believe it. I hope there will be more. A second season. Though I believe, it's just this mini series. Enjoy!

First episode
28 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I am just on the first episode, but it seems too much. It's hard to believe someone faints because of fear of rain. I am a psychologist, and have never heard of such a thing. But I do know, if you drink from morning till night, you don't look dewey fresh and sober. Which this alcoholic does. It's stupid. Just stupid. But you get a good impression of where the US is at. A check OMG. It must be 25 years since I wrote one of those. The US is so undeveloped, we laugh here in Europe.

Author is noot an actress
26 September 2021
I don't recognize the series in some of the other reviews. The comparison with Sex and the city is totally off. As a Norwegian, I can say, that is very far from what they aim for. If I should compare it to anything, it would have to be Normal people. Though Normal people goes deeper. As to how they can live in apartments in the world's most expencive cities, they live in communes and at home. And if you didn't know, Norwegians are among the richest in the world. Housing is way more expensive in many other places, but people do live in apartments there as well.

I think the series is nice and realistic. I think they experience real life problems. I don't think everything is rosy. Why I don't rate it higher, is because of the aElise. She is the worst actress I have seen in a long time. If you don't understand Norwegian, you might not catch it. Every word sounds forced and contrived. She should stick to writing. I have never seen her in anything else, maybe she got the part only because she co wrote it.

Ego of chefs
12 June 2021
This is a study in self importance. It is beyond me, why people cooking food think they are soo special. It's food, for Christ's sake. The judges and contestants take themselves equally important. I find it comical. They all honor this and that. They all cook from the heart. There is soul in the food. They all find their voice. OMG, it's so stupid. Can you come up with some new platitudes? Please! I don't care who wins. No one has caught my interest. Some of them I can't stand. Are there any NICE cooks in this world?

Polluting the Mediterranean
4 June 2021
I like these Below deck reality shows. It's nice to see participants actually DOING something. Not like The real housewives, who just spend money. But what about the throwing of plates and such into the sea? How is it possible to be so unaware of the state of the world and the ocean? Hannah seems to be a real ignorant, thoughtless girl. It's bad enough with the enormous CO2 emissions from the boat for no other reason than pleasure. That the crew should not just throw thrash in the water. Hannah, are you aware that there are living beings in the water where you throw broken glass?

I can't see anything, it's so dark
16 April 2021
It's a very sad story of child abuse. I don't agree with the other review, that it's unrealistic, how indifferent and incompetent the sosial services are. This happens every day. And even more so in the incredibly naive Sweden. They are the world's biggest pretenders. I don't wonder at Salle's having to work a lot either. How much do you think he earns at these jobs? The series evokes feelings, all negative. Most of the characters are irritating. AND there is no lighting. It's apparently a new dogma, only natural light. It's such a strain on the eyes, I don't see the actors half the time. OMG! I hope this stupid idea won't spread. If you want to see a good Swedish series, check out "Jagten på en mördare".

Terrible female lead
7 February 2021
So boring, so contrieved. I watched half. I don't understand how some actors become famous. Like Anne Hathaway. I have never seen her good. Now I know for sure, never to watch another movie with her. I know many go crazy under lock down. Not me, so I cannot really relate either.

It's real life, scary
31 January 2021
I am not one to give a 10 . But it cannot be anything less. All actors are good, no, great. And It's just the way it was at the time. Scary to see all the incompetence within the police, and the envy of those good cops from the mediocre. All the ridicolus blue tape. I guess it was about this time Swedish police startet going downhill. Today they solve 10% of murders. Against 90% in the neighbouring countries.

It's very scary, because it could happen to me. In my house.

Makes my skin crawl

Warning: Spoilers
Strange that a tv series caracter can get on everybody's nerves like that. He gets on mine as well, the infamous Adam. So why have I watched 4 episodes? I am the idiot. Who rummage around on the floor of their car on a road with no traffic? No one. You stop the car. Who draws out a bloody piece of cloth connected to a crime with people watching? No one. You leave it there. I guess they are both stupid. There is not one person to like. There must be someone. Or, the only one is actually the mafia boss. That says it all. Goodbye show. Hope I never see this Adam actor again, hope he never gets a part in an otherwise great show. I hope directors read reviews. People cannot stand this actor. He gets on everybody's nerves.

One long, out of date clishe
21 December 2020
I have only seen 30 minutes of the first episode. That is all the time I intend to give it. When you see how the old guy drives in the first scene, you know you are in for something stupid. And that this old unappetizing guy should be the dream of young, beatiful women, is just laughable. OMG! The dialog is stupid and contrived, the acting bad, the sexism in full bloom. How a country can even make something like this in our time and age is beyound me. I actually got mad that Danish public TV has bought this. But some people seem to like it. That is beyond me as well.

Entertaining, but why not hire a good actress?
11 November 2020
I can't remember if Nicole Kidman ever was a good actress. I believe I thought so in the Virgina Wolf film. But here and in Big little lies, I find her awful. She distracts with her terrible acting. How can an actress make her face immovable? The only expression is that strange blowing out of air. I get the feeling, that part of her cheeks is the only thing that moves in her face. Please, HBO, don't use her again. There are so many good actresses deserving a good part. It is just not fair, on us or them.

Boring
24 September 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I have watched the first two episodes. The second ends with Law being attacked. I guess it's meant to be a cliffhanger. I asked myself, can I be bothered to watch ep 3 and see how it goes? I realized, I don't care if he lives or dies. There's a cliffhanger for you. Actually, I don't think Jude Law is a great actor. I find him to be always the same. But I do like Emily Watson. And that husband is great. I really don't know, can I trust this man with my life or is he a beast? Well, I guess I will never know.

The soundtrack makes it cliché
8 August 2020
I don't enjoy British series anymore. I don't know what it is with the sound people over there. Sentimental, domineering, too loud, inappropriate music. Playing all the time. I can't stand it. And that Tamsin Greig! That strange, lifeless mimic. I guess it is supposed to look like subdued unhappiness. But it just looks strange. I have never seen anything like it. Anyway, she wears that expression throughout. Could be a very bad case of botox. Must have been awful for the director when he realized what he had to work with.

Boring
5 August 2020
So boring. You learn nothing about this rapist/case. They don't find out anything. Like the others say, it's an ode to this true crime writer. She was wonderful. She was also an addict, and died in her sleep from an overdose. She left a daughter. I am sorry about that, but it's nothing to make a series about. And the person is not even interesting, as she has so much gloss on, you don't see anything. The ad for the series is totally misleading.

Why the hype?
5 June 2019
Cannot understand why people live this show. So unrealistic, almost silly. I have watched 3 episodes, but cannot take any more. Hunting down a serial killer, no protection, no thought of danger! It is just so stupid. Like it is all a joke. Tired of the 2 main characters after 1 episode. And thst disgusting thing they are doing, making killing something exciting. I find the whole thing distasteful.

Hate the music
15 April 2019
I don't know what it is with many of these British period pieces. I used to like them. But now I find them artificial There is something a little manic to the conversation I am thinking, did people really talk like that ? If so, thank God I do not live among them. I would be bored stiff. But my biggest problem with this, is the music. Filmmusic is to my thinking, something that underscores the drama. But I find, nowadays BBC piles it on. It so loud and domineering, it takes the stage. Sometimes I want to turn down the volume. I don't know what has happened to BBC. I have dropped tv series because of the music. In Upstairs Downstairs the music was soppy and just awful. Here the music is beautiful in itself. But for a consert! BBC must have some absolutely deaf filmmusicpeople. Can't you hear how much it disturbes? I do not understand that the director goes for this. I think the quality of BBC series has gone way down.
