The King (2019)
One of the greatest movies ever made!
This movie is artistically and perfectly crafted.
Acting - 10/10
Directing - 10/10
Writing - 9/10
Photography - 10/10
Editing - 10/10
Soundtrack - 10/10
Audio effects - 10/10
Costumes - 11/10
Sceneries and shooting locations - 10/10
A pure work of art. Maybe it isn't 100% history and event accurate but this is absolute cinema!
PS: What's up with all the 1/10 votes fot this movie? Oh right, I forgot, maybe this type of voters praise movies that have no artistic values whatsoever and are in absolute need of superhero action or maybe horror movies with screams and irrational events.
Succession: This Is Not for Tears (2019)
Maybe the best episode of the whole series!
Very well structured, written, played and directed! The most dramatic and also the best finale to such a tense season!
L'instinct de mort (2008)
Mediocre film
I would suggest watching it just to understand how a director has the power to ruin a very promising plot and make really good actors come out as mediocre.
It's not a bad movie but it isn't a great one either. Just mediocre.
If you're into action/gangster movies, I would suggest you watching Goodfellas or Casino or Black Mass instead. This is nowhere near any of them. Dommage!
The Son: First Son of Texas (2017)
No need for sleep pills!
I fell asleep after watching 10mins of it and I slept for like two hours. No dreams. One of the best sleeps I ever had. So if you're insomniac you might consider it. It might be a new alternative cure for insomnia.
First Man (2018)
But is it worth 7 stars?
The director of this movie has obtained beautiful and stunning visual and audio effects.
He has also tried to involve the viewer into the NASA-s routine of excercises and techniques but in wanting to make it as realistic as possible he has overaccentuated the terms used in communication between the astronauts and engineers.
The historical importance of NASA-s first attempts, the small steps and big failures that made many people question if the NASA projects should have been continued and financed for those "dreams" to touch the space and set foot on the moon, have been caught superficially in this movie and thus losing an opportunity to grow the dynamics and dramaticity of the times when not only the "dreamers" were affected but also the normal people and the american taxpayers.
The main actor and hero of the movie has given his best to portray the role of Neil Armstrong who is very unaffective, cool and especially psychologically stable after losing his daughter due to a heavy tumor in a small age but it lacks the transmitting of those emotions; maybe because of the unsuitable mimicry of Ryan Gosling for such a role.
The Favourite (2018)
Artistically different than similar movies
I would categorize this movie as artistically different than similar movies that bring us back in time. It's written and directed as a novel. It has all emotions involved like drama, romance, comedy and even grotesque.
The photography is very good but the dialogues are not impressive most of the time.
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
Unbeliavable
After reading some reviews, most of them negative towards this season and especially towards this episode, I found most of them are really making so many right points.
I am really surprised on how is it even possible to destroy in such a weird way one of the best films/series ever made.
To be honest, I dont know if this has to do with the fact that El Chapo fell to prison before the work for this started and the cocaine quality perhaps or the weed coming from Mexico that D&D might have been using has had a decline in terms of quality and perhaps it gave them side effects on their minds and vision.
Dissappointed how they ended up doing such a terrible series finale like this one. Shame!
