Yeojung saeng A (2018)
I cried a lot yet, and I hate sad movies, yet thoroughly enjoyed it.
This is definitely my favorite Korean movie, and I've watched a tonne.
This movie was truly one of a kind. I generally hate sad movies and avoid them, so I'm lucky I had no idea it was going to be sad. I enjoyed it because it wasn't really about how pitiful the girl was the entire time, like a lot of Korean movies.
There are many scenes where you will cry with the main character, and normally I hate it when the romance is very subtle but this one made it very enjoyable. I wasn't even sure they liked each other by the end or if they were just friends. And strangely enough, I did not hate that. In fact it was realistic.
The cinematography in my opinion was good.
There was only one thing I felt was a bit weird. The way suicide was conveyed at the end was beautiful, but in the middle I was unsure about the way the male character responded. By the end of the movie though, I understood the message well, which is all that matters.
