Much better than it gets credit for
26 January 2002
Any person who doubted this movie from the beginning would say it was just a cliche. The story was far from a cliche, and since it's a quality book and not just some movie written for a teen idol, it deserves much more respect. Jamie Sullivan is never an ugly girl, and never becomes pretty, she just happens to look especially nice one night because she dressed up for her performance in the school play. People should stop commenting on it like she got a makeover and then was the most popular girl in school.

It was a story of a girl with a good heart and good morals, who was able to accomplish a lot and make a guy who used to think he was something special, realize what special really means. Mandy Moore did a very good job and proved that if she wants to act, she most certainly has the talent to.

Those who say that people who like this movie could only be Mandy Moore fans or anything else with a negative connotation...are wrong. It was a heartfelt story that was portrayed very well. Whether the actors have staying power is totally irrelevant to the quality of the film. I would never dissuade anyone from seeing this movie, it is very touching and worth the hour and change of your time that you will spend watching it.

Zenon: The Zequel (2001 TV Movie)
This was absolutely horrible compared to the original
16 January 2001
The only things that I found remotely entertaining about Zenon the Zequel were her new wardrobe, the alien's spaceship and Protozoa's new song. This movie was terrible with an overall boring, stupid plot. The fact that Zenon, Marjie, Commander Plank and Protozoa were the only returning characters was extremely disappointing and took away from the fun cast dynamic that was present in Zenon Girl of the 21st Century. It bothered me that they couldn't even give the new actress who played Nebula a different name (and make her Zenon's new best friend) instead of pretending to be someone with the fame of Raven-Symone. I hope that Kirsten Storms is prudent enough to keep with her role on Days of Our Lives and look back on this film as her career flop, vowing never to let something like this happen again.

Zenon Girl of the 21st Century was the first disney movie I ever saw and I went on to love others such as Alley Cats Strike, The Other Me and Brink!, but I hope to never incur the unfortunate circumstance of having to view Zenon the Zequel again.
