A szerencse lányai (1999)
Fine study of human psyche in extreme situations.
This Polish-German-Hungarian production is one of the best Polish films of 1998. The main point of this film are the feelings of Russian woman forced by misfortune to become a luxurious prostitute. There are lots of nude scenes, but made with exquisite taste and not unsuitable even for underage viewers. The next positive flaw of this film is the fact that Ewa Telega - one of the actresses - has been awarded the prize on the Festival of Gdynia - the most prestigious film festival in Poland. Is it sufficent recommendation? I think yes - you should see it, if you only have opportunity - at least once. You won't certainly regret.
Egoisci (2000)
Worth seeing, but only once.
This film causes ambivalent feelings in me. On the one side, it's quite a neat summary of the nowadays generation of yuppies and the whole rat-race. But on the other hand, it is way to noisy, the music in it accompanies the plot quite well, but it certainly is not my favorite gender. The other bad flaw of this film is uneven plot. It has a few really great points, but in general it's quite boring and lacks logic thought. I know that this review is complicated and hard to understand, but it is like the whole film - trust me, I've seen it an hour ago.
