Munich (2005)
True Art
I don't remember another movie entering into my dream life. Munich did. Seamlessly constructed, one follows image upon image as in a dream and its substance seeps into your soul. The plot is carried so you do not have to use your mind to sort out the sequences. You can lay back to receive the story...the Dream. You are given enough time to digest the powerful images but none are cheapened -- sustained beyond dream time -- as artifice -- either to manipulate emotion or ideology. Each character rings true. You meet the assassins from your heart. The ruse of the word "terrorist" is made manifest. What empowers certain people to legitimize their violence and eschew the label, "terrorist"? You understand that it IS a tough world out there, baby. That is starkly made manifest. This is not a film to be entertained by but to be enlightened by; enlightened, not in the sense of weight, for it is heavy...but in the sense of widening insight into the nature of Reality; to see its truth to help you walk your walk with a clearer vision. I honor Spielberg and Kushner Bana for their gift, their artistry. Thank you.
Par 6 (2002)
A delight
The movie is on a par (no pun intended) with Waking Ned Devine. It is another wonderful story of a small community coming together to beat the system...this time represented by the interests of an international corporation, in kahoots with the local established (old boy) real estate interests. Set in west Texas, it is the story of a family of four grown siblings living in a trailor on desert land that belongs to that outside corporation. However, the dead father has been channeling through the eldest brother and tells him of his dream to have a golf course built right on that desert land. The bro.s and their sister with the help of the local sheriff and eventually the full town, Pull it off! I won't tell any of the adventures or side lines....but it is full of them...Great comedy. Wonderful sound track and excellent acting all around! A real plus to the culture! Let us hope it gets some serious distribution.
