Monkey Dust (2003)
Dark, slick, surreal and very very nasty.
Monkey dust is not a show you should let your kids watch. Or your parents. In fact, Monkey Dust is pretty much unsuitable for everyone. Basically, It makes South Park look like Scooby-Doo.
Its a very fast-paced cartoon sketch show, mostly set in london, its all very grim and bleak. Topics it covers include Pedophilia, suicide, child murder, and the Nazis. The funniest moment so far was "The Diary of Anne Frank" as made by Jerry Bruckenheimer. Its not pure comic genius, its dirty, dark and filthy comic genius.
Its compulsive viewing if you're into stuff like Brass Eye, Big Train or Jam. I cannot recommend it enough.
Teachers (2001)
Best TV since "spaced"
This show owes a lot to Alley McBeal, not in terms of Drama/Comedy ratio, but in terms of the imagination thats gone into it with loads of weird out of place hallucinations. Funny as hell, and not as bogged down in neurosis as McBeal, and with not a hint of romance in the air.
Great soundtrack too, with at least one cool song per show. 9/10
Angus (1995)
Worse than spilling acid on your groin
If I had a choice between watching this movie again or eating my own ear I would opt for a nice ear sandwitch every time. Angus is one of those rare film that make you want to hunt down the director and force him to shoot his own pet dog. Angus deserves everything he gets, the evil pantomime baddies make you want to shoot yourself and dont mention the little sidekick. The comedy makes you cry, the romance makes you laugh and the overall message of the film is possibly the most sikening aspect of the whole """"""movie"""""" (Fat people can fit in too)
I enjoyed other teen movies like american pie and road trip cos they didnt waste time with preachy messages and pointless sentiments. The movie almost is worth watching for James van der Beet's (Dawsons Creek) foul hair. Interestingly this is the only film rated "12" that contains the word F*** I've seen. (but that doesnt justify actually watching it)
-1 /10
Manos: The Hands of Fate (1966)
yes it really is this bad...
the find this movie i'm guessing you clicked on the link on the bottom 100 movies. this is the only movie on that list i've seen and it is absolutly terrible. thats it. It makes speed 2 look amazing american ninja look cool and freddy got fingered look tastfull. The tagline is right...it really is shocking.
Dead Man on Campus (1998)
better than american pie
if you dont find this movie funny then you were probably one of those people who thought "unbreakable" was supposed to be an action movie. This is similar to american pie but the characters are much more likeable and far funnier. the only strange thing about this film is that another film "the curve" (or "dead man's curve) was released in the same year and has exactly the same plot premise. Which came first? or is there something fishy going on here.......
Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997)
Shagadelic
If you can't find this movie funny then you probably should give up cinema, as this is comedy at its best. Whatever you do, only watch it a few times as it will get less and less funny every time. I can understand why some people don't like this film, as it seems very much aimed at UK audiences, despite the fact that Myers is not British. Personally, I thought it was hiliarious. Some people just can't apprieciat bad puns, and brilliant parodys.
Unbreakable (2000)
better than the sixth sense?
If you liked the 6th sense for its fear value, then you might find this a bit dissapionting, but if you appreiciated it for its brilliant filming and twist at the end then this is the perfect follow-up. I imagine that M Night will eventually have as big a cult as Hitchcock if he keeps this up. this is'nt a movie for those expecting a high budget superhereo action film. If you want to hate this film for being boring, then stick to jerry bruckenheimer.
Cruel Intentions (1999)
Better than Wild things?
This movie is the perfect balance between superb plotting and characters. The characters are either brilliantly vile and the way the plot develops is excellent. I love this film. There is not a single false word in the film at all. Sarah michelle Geller sheds her cross from Buffy and slips into the role perfectly. Ryan Phillip proves that camp is cool and practically makes the film. Joshua Jacksons role as the gay gut is inspired, if only his character appeared more. Less sex than Wild things, but far more clever. 8/10
Starship Troopers (1997)
top notch stuff
At first glance this is simply another American Jingoistic film with loads of gore and explosions that we all love so well. But when the cheesiness gets too much you begin to wonder if it was all deliberate and you get the impression that this was intended to be a clever parody of American warfare. A lot of this is lost though as your mind is brought back to the action and you forget all you ever thought about "clever parody" Basically, this film is some of the best fun you can have with your trousers on.
