Opposite Sex (2000)
One of the best shows that's being canceled
As you may already know, Fox is dumping this show along w/ the other great show Get Real. In return they're getting new shows such as Dark Angel which doesn't look all that appealing to me. But then again, every time i find a show that I like it's always canceled. Malcolm in the Middle and SNL are the only exceptions. Anyway, I really liked this show. It had a good premise and a lot of great "new" actors that are up and coming. I especially like Milo Ventimiglia (Jed), Chris Evans (Carey), and Lindsey McKeon (Stella). The scenes w/ Carey and Stella are hilarious and clever. I also love the music that they use, such as "Good Things" by Everything and that song that they played at the end of the episode where Miranda was going to sacrifice two virgins at her birthday party. I have all the episodes on tape (six of 'em) and was looking foward to the upcoming episode where they are left behind at school. However, Fox yanked the show before it aired, so you could imagine my surprise when I watched the tape last night and instead of Oppisite Sex, I had taped Ally McBeal. I'm p'o'd that Fox would cancel this show, but then again most networks dump the shows with the most unforseen promise without giving them so much of a chance.
I Love Trouble (1994)
Awful title, cute movie
As with the other reviewers, i admit that I was skeptical of the title at first. But Julia Roberts is my favorite (non teen) actress so I decided to get it just for kicks and giggles. I liked it. It was funny, romantic, and scary (at the time I saw it, i was ten). It had a clever and interesting plot; it made you think-could that really happen in the future? and even though Roberts and Nolte's chemistry wasn't that great, it still kept me entertained for two hours. Not Robert's best movie, but if you're looking for a movie to rent and all the ones you want are gone, get this one.
Big Brother (2000)
Better than "Survivor"
"Big Brother" is MUCH better than "Survivor". It's kind of like MTV's "The Real World" and I LOVE that show. You never get bored watching it and it's cool that you can call and vote people out instead of having them randomly pick someone to leave. And I like how you can watch it on the website bigbrother2000.com 24/7. Almost all of them are likable-with the exception of William who's-how can I say this without using any obscenities?- a jerk. I hope that he gets kicked out of the house next Thursday (I already called to kick him out-if you haven't you should). I'm rooting for Josh (hot!) or Jamie to win. This is a great show and I reccemend it to anyone who likes watching other people's lives.
Malcolm in the Middle (2000)
From the first time I saw the pilot episode I loved this show!
From the first time I saw the pilot episode I LOVED this show! It's really funny and surprisingly has great acting. I love how they actually get kids who look the right age (even though Frankie Muniz is 14) and can actually act. They're all so CUTE!! Especially Frances, Dewey, and Reece. The writing is creative too-I loved the episode in which the mother comes up with all these ways to try to make her sons tell her who burnt her dress, when in the end, it turns out her husband did it. I also love the music (the theme song by They Might Be Giants rocks!) It has become one of my favorite shows, along with Saturday Night Live, Mad TV, and Get Real (which is totally underrated in my opinion). I give it 10 stars out of 10. Keep up the good work, guys! :)
