Velocity Trap (1999)
though the plot was simple I felt the Characters made the movie
Velocity Trap, is a better than avrg movie. The affects combined with the character acting, pulled off by virtual unknowns, truly carried the movie. Alicia Coppola, who played Beth Sheffield the navigator, performed an outstanding job! She was tough, funny, and believable. In watching this movie I enjoyed the association between characters more than I did the plot.
Rumble Fish (1983)
A Gem of a movie
Rumble Fish ranks with the best of Coppolas work. The camera work combined with the symbolism adds to the meaning of Rusty james race against time. Time always being the prevailing back drop. Mickey Rourke, the motorcycle boy, is superb as Rusty's older brother. One can appreciate the displacement in time felt by Mickey Rourke's character, via the sights and sounds observed through his senses. Coppola does an outstanding job in delivering this to the viewer. Where "Apocolypse Now" failed, "Rumble fish" compensates. If ever there was a movie that could be categorized as a work of art this one is it.
