Dead in the Water (2002)
terrific thriller!!!
This is a terrific thriller set against a beautiful South American backdrop. The gorgeous settings fade only to the ravishing charm of the leading lady who kept me fascinated with her every breath.
POSSIBLE SPOILER:
what I enjoyed most in this film, was the ability in which the filmmaker subtly transformed an atmosphere of a dreamy vacation into a deep descent to jealousy, rage and madness.
An absolute must see!
P.S. The actor who plays the Brazilian guy was wonderful, what else has he done?
The Visit (1964)
Great underrated film!
Although many people have not seen this film, it is one of those rare films that stick with you over the years. The cast is extremely strong (Quinn and Bergman), the directing is well done, but what stands out in this low budget psychological drama, is the script. One of the best scripts I've ever encountered, ever!!! A must see!!!
Armação Ilimitada (1985)
The anthem of a generation.
This off-beat and highly underrated comedy series, was as a revolutionary breath of fresh air, amidst the still existent archaic soap operas. The show's sensibility (not plot) resembles somewhat "moonlighting", For it's blend of fun comedy, romance, and a certain sutle mockery of the film medium itself, by spoofing certain horror and adventure genres. Great stuff!
Imagens distorcidas (1999)
Action-packed social crime thriller
This films intricately manages to assimilate hard hitting action, an intriguing murder mystery and compelling characters. While dealing with an important social issue of police violence and street kids. Truly the work of a master.
And a guest appearance by the world renouned brazilian actor Chacal!
