Until I Kill You (2024)
Gritty, real, confronting and a must watch!
This is an excellent series. Great acting from the leads; superbly cast.
Definitely a binge set, you won't be able to push the pause button.
All the settings are very authentic looking and time adjusted extremely well.
Shaun Evans just continues to improve in his acting ability (Male lead). In this series he is unbelievably good. At times, the hairs on the back of your neck will stand up and shiver.
Anna Maxwell Martin continues to impress immensely (Female lead). She is incredibly convincing in her role.
I'm certainly not going to add any spoilers, I think that is the worse thing you can do, especially if the series or movie is a good one. If you want to find out what happens, watch it.
Tremendous! Thoroughly recommended 8/10.
Gone Girl (2014)
Convoluted Illogical Rubbish.
It starts off fairly well and proceeds steadily downhill into a horrible mess. An incredibly overrated movie. Rosamund Pike's worst performance ever - including hideous overacting.
David Fincher has directed some of the most amazing movies such as Fight Club and Se7en, to name a couple. Gone Girl is utterly disappointing and is nothing like his previous work.
Ben Affleck does okay, I think from the anguish on his face at times he understood that it was a lemon. It is just unbelievable that critics / voters have not seen it that way - did they watch something else or were they blinded by the hype?
Highly NOT recommended.
Q & A (1990)
Reasonable movie until the last 5 minutes.
This is a pretty good cop movie until the last five minutes, that bit should have ended up on the cutting room floor.
Good to see Nick Nolte playing a bad a$$ for a change. 7/10 if you cut off the secondary superfluous ending.
Best Laid Plans (1999)
Ultimately disappointing.
This could have been a good movie, there were strong performances from Reese Witherspoon and Alessandro Nivola. However, Josh Brolin was a bit weak and unconvincing. In addition, the script was convoluted and improbable, which sunk the sinking ship for me. Zipp0 rating of 4/10.
Swingers (1996)
Boring rubbish.
How tedious, a movie about a bunch of losers trying to get laid. This has been done about 1000 times before, yawn. It plays like a drama striving to be a comedy but missing the mark by a continent.
Do not buy, rent, or otherwise see this movie. There's plenty more celluloid in the sea. Zipp0 rating of 2/10.
Armageddon (1998)
This movie is hideous. 2/10.
What a c**p movie. Do something else, don't rent this movie. What an awful script, it's so silly it's laughable. 'Deep Impact' is a much better alternative.
What a c**p movie, did I mention that? Zipp0 rating of 2/10.
Crash (1996)
Sexual fantasy meets metallic nightmare, head-on. (8/10)
Based on the novel by J.G. Ballard, Crash is a marvellous encounter which assaults the viewer on many levels. David Cronenberg, the director, has another cult hit on his hands. It definitely earns it's 'R' rating, so keep this movie away from the children. A Zipp0 scar-licking rating of 8/10.
Double Jeopardy (1999)
A lot better than the trailer indicated.
I watched the trailer for this film months ago and thought that it looked a bit lame. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the full feature was quite good, with a pretty solid performance by Ashley Judd. Zipp0 rating of 7/10.
