South Park: Cartoon Wars: Part 2 (2006)
Hilarious episode.
After watching these two episodes, I am giving up on Family Guy forever. This episode only made me laugh some of the time when I first saw it (the ending was totally hilarious). But the episode really became funny when I watched Family Guy. Every criticism this episode makes with regard to Family Guy is 100% accurate. It's scary to think how the Family Guy staff comes up with their jokes now. Are they just swimming around in a tank with some idea balls? Probably. I really think that South Park showed in this episode why they are miles ahead of Family Guy. The Simpsons used to be as funny as South Park is now, but recently they have gone the way of idea balls too. Hopefully the upcoming Simpsons movie will provide some good humor.
As for this episode, I think you will enjoy it. If you don't find it funny, then pop in a few Family Guy episodes and watch it again. If you don't laugh harder the second time around, then I am much different than you.

Tom yum goong (2005)
I like it!
This movie is what it should be; an action movie first and foremost. Considering that, the movie is pretty sweet. The action is totally out of control just as you might expect. I do like the realistic style of Tony Jaa when compared to movies like Kung Fu Hustle that are a little too crazy at times. This movie certainly stretches the imagination, but that's why we go to see movies isn't it? If you are looking for strong acting, watch Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. If you are looking for an interesting story, leave Tom Yum Goong on the shelf. However, if you are looking for a good time with the boys (or girls I suppose) this is your movie. The fights are intense, the chase scenes are crazy and the cinematography is actually pretty impressive. You will have a fun time watching this movie if you approach it in the right frame of mind. I look forward to Jaa's next masterpiece.
The Big O (1999)
Anime for beginners or veterans
The Big O. An anime series that has appeal to those that don't like anime. But don't be fooled! The series can be appreciated by anyone that has half a brain. I will give you three reasons to see The Big O for yourself: #1: The characters. Each one unique, and they all interact with each other very well. The voice actors for the English version are superb. It is hard to believe that the series was originally in Japanese.
#2. The depth. The series is as deep as any I have seen which makes it good for second and third viewings. There are subtle nuances that really set this series apart. The depth you will find in The Big O is impressive, but it is a show that you can enjoy completely on the surface as well.
#3. The music. The soundtrack for this series is simply breathtaking. Of course there are some tracks that are a little silly, but they fit the scenes well. The main tracks are ones that will rope you into the series even if you don't like the story. Finding music of this quality is not common at all.
The only thing I regret about this series is that more people haven't seen it. I would love it if this series was one that all people at least tried out. Then maybe the producers would make additional acts for our viewing pleasure. The story is left open for additional seasons to be added, let's hope that they do.
Gaslight (1944)
Solid remake
This movie is certainly made in the old style fashion. It is a little slow by today's standards, but it has an appeal that should not be overlooked. The actors in this movie deliver excellent performances that help to capture the audience and carry them through the story. It was in fact this film that Ingred Bergman won her first Oscar for. It was also the acting debut of actress Angela Lansbury. Although somewhat predictable, the movie will still have you tense at times, especially at the end. The premise is solid and even quite believable. Any fan of the Hitchcock style mystery should give Gaslight a try if they would like a bit of a different flavor. It is one of the better early mystery/thriller movies.
The Matrix Revolutions (2003)
The Matrix 3 was not to be
Well I finally saw the Matrix 3, and I must say that I was kind of disappointed. This is coming from someone who was truly impressed after seeing the second Matrix. But the third Matrix lacked intrigue, and here is why...
I don't think I need to say that the first Matrix was very original and well worth watching numerous times. After it ended, I expected the second Matrix to be without plot or interest. I assumed that it would be a purely action based movie with nothing other than special effects holding it together. But I was pleasantly surprised to see that the second Matrix had some unexpected twists and turns. I must say that I was quite impressed by the second Matrix movie.
So when Revolutions came out I changed my expectations from low to fairly high. That was my first mistake. I should have realized that there was no good way to end this trilogy. The writers spent all of Reloaded digging themselves into a hole. It became clear in Revolutions that there was no real way to end the movie in a way that was interesting. So the movie just sort of ended, leaving a stunned crowd trying to figure out what went wrong.
Now, I won't go so far as to say that the movie was bad, because I don't believe that it was bad. But I will say that when compared to the first and second Matrix, this movie did not stack up. I still liked the special effects and the fight scenes. But that was all that there was to hold on to when the movie was over. The Matrix Revolutions was pretty close to what I thought the second Matrix was going to be before I saw it. A mindless movie that focuses only on special effects. So the reason I walked out disappointed was due to my expectations. Had the second movie been a mindless action fest, I would have probably liked the third one. But because the second movie was interesting, I couldn't enjoy the third one nearly as much. When it comes right down to it, there was no good way to end this movie. I can't think of a single scenario that would have saved this movie from being a let down. At least we still have the first Matrix to hold on to.
G2 (1999)
This movie is Blow'd Up
Why? Why did they think this movie would be cool? I don't think that anyone who has seen this movie could seriously enjoy it. The reasons for not liking this movie are infinite but I will focus on 3 that really blew me away.
1. Nothing and I mean NOTHING in this movie is given even a poor explanation. From start to finish, it is assumed that you know what is going on without the slightest indication as to why.
2. This movie has no action. I found this movie listed as an action movie and for some reason. But take it from me the action is minimal and the little action that does surface is very poor.
3. The title to this movie is "G2". If anyone can tell me why "G2" has anything to do with this movie in any way I'd love to hear it.
The fact is that this movie is a real hard one to finish and I recommend never starting in the first place.
The Alien Dead (1980)
So, Zombies are aliens?
Oh man, I just got roped into watching this movie AGAIN, and I must say it was quite a ride. This movie is worth seeing for some strange reason, even though it is too bad for MST3K to touch. There is some fabulous dialogue, especially the first scene. The "special" effects are to die for. And let's not forget that crazy music we have come to love. The audio is, well, really horrible but quite amusing. Check out the scene where they use a chainsaw sound file in place of a motorboat engine. It is quite amazing. Cap it all off with one of the most legendary endings in any movie and you have yourself a blockbuster film. Seriously, you and your friends should all get together and watch this movie. It would be a good idea to bring all of the beer in the world though, because watching the Alien Dead sober just doesn't do it justice. If you do take the Alien Dead challenge, you will be talking about your experience for years to come. I DARE YOU TO WATCH THIS MOVIE!!!
