Jackie's BEST.
16 March 2000
This is defenitely Jackie's best, really. Although I have yet to see Project A, the only reason being I can't find a copy of it. 1984, Jackie in his full prime, the action is great, so is the comedy, and the general feel of the movie. Ohh, and the music, ohh, the music, I can still hear it in my head, HUM HUM. Heh.

This is just the best, so go out and rent it now.

One of my favorites,
10 March 2000
It was my favorite, but long since, I don't have any, I mainly divide movies into horrible, bad, mediocre, bad, ok, good, excelent. So, this would be excelent. Everything in this movie works extremely well, the acting of Jeremy Irons is, well, as always wonderfull. Reminds me, I don't know why, but, of Stealing Beauty, which Jeremy Irons is also in. To finish, very good, if you haven't seen it, go out and rent it now.

Not so good.
22 February 2000
To say I hated it, would be a lie, to say I liked it, would be too.

The good : Unique script, has bads see below. Nice touches, here and there.

The bad : Story, thought interesting, doesn't go too far in, it has good premise, but we're left watching close to two hours of what is basicly Christian announcing that he was molested by his father. The first half-hour or so is useless, completely boring.

I can't really stand Dogme 95, the organization that believes, that movies reached it's top in 1960, "In 1960 enough was enough! The movie was dead and called for resurrection" (ohh and you can read their menifesto, where they repeat this twice), so this wundergroup is going to save movies, right? ok. let's trash everything that came after 1960, and replace it with something that was shot with a hand-held camera.

I think it's a nice change, but I couldn't stand more movies shot the same way.

The other thing, is that, a lot of these movies are mostly an excuse to shoot something shocking, from child molestation to schizophrenia, sometimes mixing them together, without any real reason to. They call it art, film, a lot of times garbage is just garbage.

Hope my words weren't too harsh, but that's the way I feel.

Many inturpertations,
21 February 2000
Seing this movie several times now, I think there's more to it than what many consider a dark comedy. It goes into a lot of directions, some are less subtle than other.

One can argue that it's all about how disfunctional suburbia and life really is, but I think, that, in the end it's about what your life has meant, you notice everything, sometimes you feel like you're seeing it all at once, and it's too much. The heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst.

After all, there's nothing worse than being ordinary, totally ordinary and boring, which, again, leads up to what your life has been. I wouldn't think I'm alone here, but this is a very positive note, that, after seeing it, I wasn't depressed, but certain, and not as maybe scared.

We are all scared, to die, and this is something that comes up, the character Ricky Fitts, often sais he is not afraid. He saw god, and god looked back, such as Lester did once he was killed.

Have no idea what I'm talking about, do you? don't worry, you will soon see.

Great.
14 February 2000
Lately, I've been just watching all kinds of movies there are, from westerns to whatever, greats to epics.

This movie I was not very eager to see, at the time I couldn't stand someone even mention Brendan Fraser, so, him being in it, you'd understand. However, I got around to renting it, after sometime and seeing how it was on the top 250 charts.

Everything from the cinematography, to acting, to the feel of the movie is great, I felt connected to the characters, Ian McKellen gives a powerfull performance that is just, the best I've seen. Bredan is ok, performs like he should in the role.

There is so much that is in it, the story, which gives emotion to the movie, it's all very real, and exciting. It centers around James Whale, of whom I didn't know a lot about, and his friendship with Clayton Boone, who is the yardman.

I still don't know what is it about it, that I concider so great, but I just love it. And consider it one of my favorite movies.

The Godfather (1972)
Kinda Impartial
14 February 2000
Well, it is no.1 on the list, and on many others, very influential an all. But I have trouble seeing this as the greatest movie ever made.

Sure it is good, excelent even, but not at all close to being the best. I feel there are other movies that are more better, some of which came before The Godfather, and are generaly more important.

I hope I can understand why this is what it is soon.

Thrill Seekers (1999 TV Movie)

WEAK !
18 October 1999
If I had to choose one word to summarize this movie, and I did, it would be "weak". Which the movie certainly is, even weak for a "TBS ORIGINAL". There are several things that are just too wrong : 1) there's no subway in chicago, and you can clearly see that they shot the movie in canada. 2) There are no copps hockey in chicago or atlantic city. 3) it's just all too weak. It's fun to see for a chuckle or two, but inexperienced viewers may suffer head injury. Thank you.

Frosty (1965)
A Classic
8 October 1999
Well, I can remember this as far back as I was a kid. And I loved it, still do. I don't know if many people remember where they used to tell fairy tales on radio, or fables, it was the most fun to liten to them, ohh and if you had old records with some, nothing beats it. Ofcourse, you'd have to be russian to remember all this, which most of these people aren't.

Russian cinema is intended towards russian people, there are simply too many things that would be uncomprehinsable to other people. Most importantly no one seems to understand this is a fairy tale, just like snow white, and is intended for little kids, people who comment that the movie is on drugs don't understand that. It's like saying Snowwhite is messed up because there is a witch in it, or dwarfs talking, come on...

I also saw it on MST3K, which I'm a fan of, many of the MST3K people that commented mentioned that MST3K made this movie famous, I don't think so, it's been a classic for much longer than MST3K has been, and will continue to.

Again, most won't understand since they don't come from that culture. I wish I would have some of those recordings now, of the stories I remember, because they mean so much to me.

The Corruptor (1999)
The best !
3 October 1999
There is a lot of negativity about this movie, from the reviews. But the truth is it's one of the best in it's kind, it's not drama, or your action flick, it's a mix of both, and it think it was done quiet well.

First we have the story, which is a bit complex, so you have to pay attention, it has a surprise element which i won't give out, but it will give it an edge. Overall it's a really good story. Then we have the action, which is again, done quite well. I would suggest getting this on DVD, which is what i did, it's quite nice. Anywho, this is better than all of the "lethal weapon" movies combined together.

Outbreak (1995)
Really look into it.
27 September 1999
It's an exciting movie, and that's the whole thing about thrillers, they're supposed to hold you on the edge of the seat, you know what's going to happen before you even seen the movie, you know not every thing in the movie is realistic, including the dialogue, but why care ? The movie entertains, and that's what's important.

Please watch 'Dangerous Liaisons' (1988)
26 June 1999
I had the pleasure of watching 'Dangerous Liaisons', a superb movie. What I found strange is the almost identical plot as that of 'Cruel Intentions'. 'Dangerous Liaisons' by far is much better. I suggest you rent or buy a copy of it tonight.
