A Blade in the Dark (1983)

An edge of your seat thriller

This movie was brilliantly directed by Lamberto Bava and stars Michele Soavi(before he started directing).This movie is similar in style to Dario Argento's movies especially TENEBRAE and you can tell that Lamberto Bava was influenced alot by Argento.I really enjoy these type of movies they've always got realistic gore,a suspenseful story, excellent actors, beautiful women and a good mesmerizing score. So if you're in the mood for a good (Giallo) thriller rent A BLADE IN THE DARK.

NOTE: Also other movies I recommend are TENEBRAE, DEEP RED and THE STENDHAL SYNDROME.

Cannibals in the Streets (1980)

An enjoyable cannibal flick with zombie touches

Renting this movie I thought it would be the usual cannibal carnage only set in the city and it was but with a surprising difference it had a zombie type virus in it as well.Two of my favourite genre's in one and I thoroughly enjoyed it.Its about a group of vietnam vets who return to America with a cannibal virus and anyone they attack also become cannibals.It stars John Saxon,Tony King and Giovanni Lombardo Radice(my favourite actor)as the vietnam vets. I recommend this movie to any cannibal and/or zombie movie fan so check it out if you can find it.

Hell of the Living Dead (1980)

Not Bad

I've seen quite a few zombie movies over the years and I have to say that the european ones are the best. The gore effects in these movies are very realistic and provide quite a few scares and Night of the Zombies is no exception.The gore effects and storyline are good and is what I expected from this type of movie, but what I didn't expect was the overlong use of stock footage from a National Geographic special which was not only unnecessary but very annoying and the dubbing could also have been handled better, but overall not a bad movie storywise. Just remember to keep the VCR remote close so you can fast forward the stock footage.

Warriors of the Wasteland (1983)

A brilliant action movie from start to finish

This is a brilliant action movie from start to finish.It has good action scenes (including slow motion scenes that are evident in most films by Castellari) an excellent music score by Claudio Simonetti and excellent actors including luigi Montefiori who Also starred in Endgame.I recommend this movie to anyone who is a fan of Enzo Castellari or anybody who enjoys sci-fi/action movies

Zombie (1979)

one of the best zombie movies ever made

This is one of the best movies Lucio Fulci has ever made.It has an Excellent story,excellent zombie makeup effects(alot better than the zombie makeup effects for the Romero zombie trilogy)and an excellent musical score,(I've got to get the soundtrack for this movie)I only wish Australia had the complete uncut version instead of the cut to shreds hardly any gore 82min version.

NOTE:This movie would have made a better prequel than an unofficial sequel to Dawn Of The Dead.
