Rapid Exchange (2003)
Bad acting and horrible script.
The acting was so bad that is so difficult to believe in a movie with so crazy ideas. The expressions of the guards and their reactions were so bland that not even rookie actors in a high school play are so unbelievable.
So much money on a plane an such lousy and so few guardians on board. Okay a 747 is a huge plane, but you don't transport that amount of money so frequently as to have such an elaborate electronic equipment and a vault on board to "safeguard" the valuables. And also the interior of the "vault" is so unrealistic with high ceilings and very ample rooms, you are not inside a building, but a plane and don't have the luxury of empty spaces.
Blowing a hole on the side of a flying plane is no small issue but here the plane keeps flying as if nothing happened. There are so many inconsistencies that made me gag.
Van Helsing (2004)
Could have been a great movie, but...
... they packed too much and spend a lot of money in a movie that is not quite as good as it sounds.
The CGI leaves a lot to wish for, specially after watching The Lord of the Rings. The movements are great if you are playing a video game, but this is a movie and the CGI creatures sometimes look too "robotic" and the action scenes are like playing Super Mario Bros. Is a pity that ILM animators didn't do a better job. I would like to know in which parts is Weta involved.
The story sometimes packs too many ideas at the same time as to try to get the viewer confused or lost. A love action movies, but in this one, they overdid it. Although the performances are very good, the film at sometimes feels over-saturated and in other tends to be a little bit boring.
Loved the Dracula's girls dresses and their performances.
In general, not a bad movie, but could have been much better.
No debes estar aquí (2002)
Weak script, could have been a good thriller
the story is not that bad, most of the actors do their best trying to save the movie. Unfortunately the writer lost a lot of facts that are crucial to the story.
***Warning kind of spoilers ahead****
If somebody bugs you on the phone, you stop answering the damn thing, not just keeping on nicely answering it again and again. In todays world there is caller ID and also you can report this kind of problem to the phone company. If somebody breaks in your department, and you are really afraid of it, you report the incident to the police immediately. In the movie, the cops are never mentioned or just though of. In the subway, if the driver sees somebody -even a little shadow- he/she will report it to traffic dispatcher immediately and stop the next train. In case of an accident, it will stop the train as fast as possible. And the thing with the video camera, avoid the window, close the curtains, do something.
To finish, it could have been a good movie.
