Chambers learns that the town had an advanced research facility being funded by a big businessman and conducted by Dr Oscar Totem.
It was looking at communicating with pigs. Chambers participated in the experiment. With an implant he communicated with Napoleon, the pig he raised.
For the first time a sci fi element has been introduced as well as some sinister people that might have been responsible for the fate of Limetown.
To add to the conspiracy context. There is also a literate element to this episode. Napoleon is the pig from Animal Farm. Chambers also quotes from Moby Dick.
Chambers was a great character. You can sense the journey he took from here to become the Reverend.
