Addictive in the beginning, lose interest at the end
marissareeka4 May 2021
Just like the title of my review, it was really addictive in the beginning, but the storyline was dragging and dragging with so many unpredictable plots and twists to the point I lose interest with it. It was too much I guess.

Actually, the main leads, Akin and Ebru, did such a fantastic job with their characters. However, their good chemistry in the beginning wasn't shown well in the end. I don't know, it's just my opinion though.

Lastly, the ending seems to be in a rush and it's way too far from what I expected how it should end. But again, it's fun to watch Miran and Reyyan could finally have their happy ending. 👍👍👍

Worth watching
louceclarie3 July 2020
This show will never make you feel bored the characters the scenario the acting it's just too good. This show is also a mixture of so many emotions love hatred betrayal revenge and the way everything changes towards the end of season 2 is beautiful. The chemistry of Reymir is magical. Reyyan's beauty has captivated me since the first episode. Then little Gul will never bore you. One thing about Türkish shows is that they are so absorbing like i really get really into it whenever i watch it.

Great show!
rashashm30 November 2019
Watching the show Hercai, it's a really great show, captivating...the music is so beautiful, the love is so sincere between the lead roles and also the most amazing thing is that I saw the beauty of the turkish traditions and felt the fresh air in the countryside there all through the beautiful shots...My only problem lately is the last couple of episodes I feel a change in the way the shots are taken, the beautiful countryside dresses that Riyan used to wear now turned into a short and tight outfits that doesn't blend into the easiness that once was there...her hair has become stiff like a commercial, when before it used to flow with the breeze, and her makeup also totally unatural!! These traits were what made the series so unique and beautiful now turned into a modern day look that doesn't match the authinticity of this countryside series... Thanks, Rasha

A Fairy Tale for Grown Ups
lfeisee8 October 2019
You're hooked from the first episode. The lead actor and actress are gorgeous, the videography is excellent, the setting of Mardin Turkey is stunning, and the set decor and coloring are breathtaking. The story is about a young man who sets out for revenge and falls in love with the target of his revenge. Sounds like an old story, but it has an interesting twist. The young man is under the influence of his manipulative grandmother who has woven a web of deceit and lies. There is action, there are secrets, there's romance and excellent, excellent acting. I can't recommend it enough.

I have seen so many stories, so many films, but I have never ever seen something like this story and sacrifice in Hercai! After you see just a part from the first episode, you will be addicted on to story. The way the actors fo their job, the way Akin and Ebru bring to the screen this amazing love, with do extreme effort and sacrifices, you will never see anything like that!!! PURE TREASURE!!!

Too much over dramatic crying.
carlota-197271 August 2021
Love the love story between Miran and Reyyan and honestly that was my favorite part of this series. The vengeful story line is dumb and the over dramatic crying is just too much to take I had to fast forward during some of the same old crying. Reyyan's parents constant crying, Azat crying for Reyyan, Gonul crying for Miran gets old. I really thought it would be much better.

Dissapointing, considering the hype around it
Louie7772 May 2019
The first couple of episodes are actually good, and there are some very talented actors among the cast. But for me, that's where the good things end. The script really lacks logic and common sense. Also, people wanting to kill a woman because her husband has left her, and cousins getting married are not my cup of tea.

Addicting
nidakazi2 April 2019
When you see the first episode, you get an overall idea what you're going to see but the upcoming episodes will surprise you to no end. The level of intensity, the character's performances, the cinematography, the beautiful stone palaces, brilliance.

Awesome actors but..............
Rossis902 February 2021
1. There is too much violence over women, too many weapons 2. Love story is so romantic, even the world burns they are together in the end. 3. its sad that Reyyan and Miran have to pay for mistakes and hatred of their relatives. 4. they marry Reyyan for someone she doesnt know??? thats not normal nowadays 5. scenes are not real, you must have great imagination. 6. its strange that they spend all life to hate each other and wait revenge. 7. i watched scenes with miran and reyan, others are not so interesting.

Hope that scenes are not real with women in Midyat and that part ot Turkey.

I have never seen this much of crying in a tv series before, in every scene of this series at least someone is crying, I don't understand why this has to be this much dramatic!!!!

Very good
yongkirry20 January 2021
Its the fist "telenovel" that i wasnt pushin fast forward in the scenes i didnt care much, actually you have to see all as you can miss something as its all connected (ok in the last episodes too much bla bla love bla bla between miran and reyyan-i guess couse is a love story so has to be as it is). From my point of view is the best i have seen untill now, the acting is not that bad and the filming is not bad either, and the trama very catchy. Its true, as some say its a lot if screaming, crying(ok a little bit too much),revenge, greediness and bla bla but thats why is a drama (telenovela with a different cultural background). Overall i loved it!

sarahgiv198 April 2019
This drama show, based on "HERCAI" Sümeyye Koç book, is very good with a really interesting script, a great musical composition and the acting of the actors is totally amazing! It's surprise me but i'm really in love with this drama.

Boring and same dialogues
saadi18 May 2022
I started to watch this series for Ebru Sahin but after few episodes it looked monotonous. The story is based on the hostility between two families. The dialogues are same throughout the series. This is an example of extreme family violence with women. Few characters continued useless conversations. For example, conversation between Mr. Hazar and Ms. Zehra was always the same and viewers can easily skip them considering nothing useful. Most of the characters are short tempered and always want to shout and argue everything. The positive characters discuss on the middle of the open field even if it is secret and others can easily hear them without no reason. Grandmother and Yaren used to fix their ears to the wall and they could hear even whispering. In the middle of the second season I got tired of watching all these stupidity and arguments and could not proceed further. However, I loved the acting of beautiful and intelligent Ms. Gul and Reyyan. My thought is that they could shorten the episodes and avoid repetitive events.

Best couple the history ever known.
MaryamAlarraby27 December 2019
I have never been so attracted or attached to a couple's love as I am to ReyMir. The acting, the progress of their relationship, the ups and downs, the tears and laughs, and most importantly the passion, are all on point. Once you get involved with Hercai, these two won't allow you to leave!

Nice but drags on
zahraalribei20 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
So much drama going on, its good, although you get bored of it as it drags on too much after about the 30th episode. Love the plot and twists, just wish it had less as it gets annoying. Has a happy ending though!

Domestic violence is normalised
papm-201438 July 2020
The plot is taken place in modern Turkey. The female characters are beaten, threatened, kidnapped, forced to marry against their will, kept prisoners , almost killed for honour, starved. And I am wondering, is this what a woman in modern Turkey has to deal with?

Just WOW
fragmentedstate22 March 2020
These Turkish series are absolutely the best! This is one of the best ones I've seen and I've watched many. The story is great, fantastic actors, cinematography is excellent, editing well done. With all the twists and turns you never know what is going to happen. I think they needed to get a bit more involved in the romance scenes. For example, the Valentine Day episode was a bit blah. Not like the beginning love scene between ReyMir on the wedding night. You can still get involved without it going too far. I miss that on some of the other romance scenes throughout the series. Other than that EXCELLENT... American cinema can really learn a thing or two from the Turks...American TV and Movies are going through a dark age. Turkish cinema is engaging, has plenty of fantastic dialogue, fantastic stories with plenty of plot, actors are OVER THE TOP... Quality over ethnics....REFRESHING

laughing or crying?
sabash-3845815 April 2021
I hope that the salaries of the actors are worth the shame of playing in this series. There may have been a good idea at the beginning of the series, but very bad storytelling and becoming a scandal (even as a regular series) embarrasses people from wasting time on it. It seems that lately, the actors are ready to die, but leave the series.

And another thing: If Rumi had seen this film, he might have said: Die, die, die of this pain (shame) From this pain, when you die, do not make another film.

Perfect love and terrible people.
sandraluz-3027214 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Great love story, specially from the beginning till the point Miran and Rayyan got together again totally in love. Rayyan finally forgives Miran and trust him, and they make love! Such a beautiful Scene. After this point, the plot got so twisted that I was done with it.

The constant changes in the plot, the violence, the hatred ended up tiring everyone. I'm under the impression that even the actors were exhausted by so many hatred scenes, resentment and malignancy.

I think other characters could have more opportunities in the plot and make it more interesting and less dramatic and violent.

Everything was about the antagonists and their thirst for revenge.

Good series - drag on too long
tempresident18 October 2020
Even though this is a very good series with very good acting, the story line is becoming too much & dragging on for too long. The constant lying is too much. I'm considering to stop watching as it really needs to get to a conclusion. Can't the writers see the popularity of the series is dropping? It's not because of the actors but because of the writers. Reach a conclusion already!

Episode 44 - ffs! This episode will make that I change my rating from 7 to 0. It's too much...waaay too much. This is story is one good example of overkill. Overkill in the department of intrigue & suspense. Too much of the same happening over and over and over and over and over and over again (see how annoying repeating things are?). This story should've ended episode 30 already.

Mind blowing
tcs-3127228 December 2021
After seeing Reyyan & Miran's chemistry it totally feels like they are dating in real life. Many watchers may find this show boring and repetitive but i strongly disagree, hercai is far better than the typical overrated romcoms. Hercai was overall was unforgettable. Even thought the actors in this show are newbies the acting was 10/10. I recommend this show to everyone.
