Stylish but leaves you feeling empty

I have to admit I expected more from this film. It was widely praised in the festival circuit but now that I have seen it, I feel like it had a lot of style, but little interesting substance. Director Cheuk Pan Lee debuted with this film and he shows promise in the way he depicts immoral characters trudging through life without perspective or purpose outside of what they deem as acceptable. The almost depressing urban backdrop serves the film's sometimes noirish tone well. Yet, you get the feeling there's not much to say here, and what is actually said is done so with a complicated story structure that distracts rather than builds intrigue. By the end I was also left slightly annoyed by the film's lack of subtlety and the whole G-letter gimmick, the latter proving to be of little importance to the story.

I dunno, just didn't sit well with me.

The director is addicted to show his skills but foget the story

The reason that the director wants to say seems to have caused a serious split with the picture he presented. Just like the role of the mother in the film, the lens is much better, and the reason is a big paragraph, but what do you want to express? The director is addicted to the show, but no matter how close the head and tail are. Please understand the idea first.
