Warning: Spoilers
Noah saves a robot from the scrap pile. Evil adults. Cute robot. A girl friend who helps. Chase. action. Disney ending.

This was your typical kid's film. It was not the worst film for adults to sit through, but the characters are not unique or well written. Boring even during the exciting scenes.

Dumbing Down of American Viewers
westsideschl2 September 2020
Within 30 seconds it reeked of cheap. First, the dialogue was the most juvenile of pretend science, and would easily fail middle school science. Second, overused effects found in all cheap sci movies such as large electrical (lightning wannabes) discharges to create a cheap wow effect. Third, the usual evil/bad corporate head out to create a weaponized robot - so non-creatively & overused a plot hook it's embarrassing. Fourth, the usual teen nerds (lately to be gender neutral in movies there's a female co-nerd; the only thing missing was a minority representation). Fifth, also done many times before is the search for the "lost" robot creator. Saving grace an extra star for the puppy cute robot.

Barely enough to fill a trailer.

Warning: Spoilers
Kudos to the marketing department and editor - Worth the $5.99 rental? Sure, only because and the amount of work that went into making , finishing & marketing.

Who is this movie is made for ? I watched with my 11 year old who commented how bad some of the effects looked. I rated 3 stars because of major flaws. #1, #4, #5 and especially #8. When it comes to being a Family Movie.

1) The Robot Friend was simply to big to fit into that Backpack. 2) IF the Robot's power life is based on the amount used - Why waist on - un necessary activities. 3) The Robot knows he has USB port , but not how to charge himself. 4) Flying cars, and Unlimited power, yet these are not discovered or used. 5) The Robot suit ( a rip off of Ironman ) way to small with to many wires to fit Josh. 6) Josh instantly knows how to operate the suit. 7) The bully scene - So many things wrong with it. It is a good thing that the actor knew where a perfectly good tomato is. Josh seemed to have done nothing to cause the 1 bully and not so bully run off. 8) It is OK to not do your assignment, steal, and blackmail your brother who sneaks out at night. That's a good Kids movie. 9) The urgency? As my 11 yr. son pointed out - if your phone battery dies - You simply recharge and turn it back on. 10) Two Microwaves? - not sure why the restaurant was the only place. AND not sure what the doctor ( Robot's dad) was going to do if an Employee didn't have 2.5 glasses.

Hope the movie makes enough money to make another - AND more thought goes into the writing.

Wasted Potential
Hammer-Rocks17 November 2020
The movie had lots of promise but was undelivered. The cheap sets and substandard acting, let the movie down. Plus the more you get to know A.R.I., the more unrealistic he becomes - not that an AI robot with child like qualities is realistic to begin with.

Having said that, the design of A.R.I. is surprisingly nicely done. Very likeable character with a suitable voice to suit. But from time to time the CGI is made obvious compared to the quality of the background. Or rather the overlapping of the CGI over real images does not match well.

There is some style-ist violence, so parental guidance is recommended for viewing for the much younger audiences.

A fun film for what it is.

Sometimes you just got to accept the predictability for what you know the film is about.

Ok movie for kids.

Warning: Spoilers
The robot is cute but the villains though kinda weak for me. They have this cool mercenary guy but doesn't seem they use it right. They made him to look scary but that's it. No funny fight or escaping scene. Just some tough talks. The mad scientist guy was mad though.

Very impressive production quality and the main characters are very believable in their roles! My kids (nieces and nephews) loved this and so did I.

I was excited for this movie to come out because my children were extras. I was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable it was to watch. The whole family can get a great laugh and lesson watching the film. Kudos!!

Fun Movie

This was a well done movie for children and adults. The robot seemed very realistic and it was a cute story of how a young boy saved it from destruction. I liked it. It reminded me a bit of The Flight of the Navigator.

Not worth the effort.

Short Circuit, meets D.A.R.Y.L., meets Chappie, was never going to work without a decent original script, decent actors and, decent special effects. One of the reviews sums it up completely. Their children were in it, gives a whole new meaning to "family movie".
