For many longtime Resident Evil fans, Project Resistance‘s announcement has been somewhat of a disappointment.
The upcoming title is a spinoff of Capcom’s illustrious franchise and represents a drastic tonal shift for a variety of reasons, chief among them being the introduction of multiplayer. Unlike the mainline games, which have, by and large, been traditionally single-player affairs that task you with surviving a living nightmare on your own, Project Resistance is, well, the opposite of that.
The premise is simple. Using an asymmetrical format similar to that of Dead by Daylight, Resistance pits a team of four survivors against a single human-controlled opponent, the Mastermind. The survivors’ job is to escape a series of increasingly difficult scenarios filled with zombies, Lickers and puzzles while their opponent does everything in their power to prevent their success. Choosing enemy spawn points, triggering environmental effects (e.g. turning out the lights...

Michelle Pfeiffer, Tracy Letts and Academy Award-nominee Lucas Hedges have signed on to star in the surrealist comedy “French Exit,” based on the international best-selling book by Patrick deWitt.
DeWitt (“The Sisters Brothers”) adapted his novel for the big screen, and Azazel Jacobs (“The Lovers”) is set to direct the film.
The film will follow 60-year-old penniless Manhattan socialite Frances Price (Pfeiffer), whose plan it was “to die before the money ran out,” but things didn’t go as planned. Price’s husband Franklin has been dead for 20 years and with his vast inheritance gone, she cashes in the last of her possessions and resolves to live out her twilight days anonymously in a modest apartment in Paris, accompanied by her directionless son, Malcolm (Hedges), and the embodiment of Franklin in the form of “Small Frank” (Letts), the family cat.

Tragedy struck in December of 2016, when Carrie Fisher, known to many as Princess Leia of the Star Wars series, passed away at the age of 60. While The Last Jedi had already debuted to audiences and had our princess alive at the end, ready to continue her fight alongside the Resistance, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker had to be retooled entirely around her very noticeable absence. Director J.J. Abrams, however, greatly respected Carrie Fisher and immediately pulled a possible CGI rendering of her off the table.
So, with that in mind, how will Leia be in Episode IX? “You can’t replace her,” J.J. said to Stephen Colbert, host of this year’s Star Wars Celebration. Continuing on, the director added:
“Me and co-writer Chris Terrio…we all talked about how to move on. You don’t recast her, and you don’t replace her…but the magical thing...

Want to give Star Wars Resistance a shot but don't know where to start? Here are the show's best (and most essential) episodes!
This Star Wars Resistance article contains major spoilers.
Fans had very high expectations for Star Wars Resistance, the follow up to the popular Star Wars Rebels, when it premiered last year. Unlike its predecessors, which take place during the Clone Wars and the days before the Original Trilogy, Resistance tells a new story set six months before The Force Awakens.
The show was an exciting prospect, especially since so much of the post-Return of the Jedi timeline remains a mystery, even after two movie sequels and a handful of books and comics. What would fans learn about days leading up to The Force Awakens from the show?
Season one never quite hit the heights of Rebels, with a low-stakes story struggling to engage with...
