Mind-blowing for a big fan, still great for others
umimelectric25 February 2019
I have a wide range of musical taste, and I've seen so many live performances, concert movies, and documentaries on musicians ranging from The Beatles to Led Zeppelin to Tupac Shakur to the Grateful Dead to the Talking Heads to Pink Floyd and many others. Taylor Swift's Reputation Stadium Tour movie was immediately a classic in my world. As a fan of hers, I really enjoyed her previous concert film for her 1989 tour, but this one is just so much bigger & badder. The production value is likely the best I've ever seen for a concert film. It's just done so well. Her performance speaks for itself- she's astonishing. If you're reading this review, you're probably already aware of that, but it should be said that she takes her game and raises it beyond another level. I was not able to attend any of her shows on this tour, regretfully, but this film shares the experience for fans all over the world, while simultaneously immortalizing one of the greatest tours an artist has put together in the history of music.

An enjoyable concert for fans, nothing groundbreaking
mr_bickle_the_pickle1 January 2019
If you like Taylor Swift, then you'll like the film. However, this film is really limited to her own fanbase. The film is literally just the concert. I was maybe hoping to see it paired with videos of her behind the scenes or making of the tour...something that would have provided more insight. If we compare to other music docs like Gaga's Five Feet 2 from (2017 - was it?) or Katy Perry's Part of Me Movie from 2012...you get more of an insight into the person or the makings of the tour (or in Gaga's case the superbowl). I think it would have been a tad more interesting and would have opened itself up more to non-fans. However since it just the concert, I will say that it is really enteratining and a good mix of old and new. Although I had to laugh when she talks about how her fans asked her to do her older material and she obliges by doing "All to Well" from Red. Like, I was expecting her to "Teardrops on My Guitar"...(a song from her first album) not a song from 2 albums ago. Like, that song isnt THAT old lol. And the production value of the concert/film is pretty good too. However, I am gonna rate the film a 7 just because I needed more.

The repuation Stadium Tour is definitely a tour I wish I had experienced. This is the best way to experience this entire thing.

The repuation Stadium Tour is definitely a tour I wish I had experienced. This is the best way to experience this entire thing. The film version of the concert has now utilized some new cinematography and camera filters. I also think this tour utilzed some new musical arrangements, making some of these performances some of my favorites she's ever performed, and I'm quite happy these have been captured on screen for us all to remember. Memorable costume changes, lovely insights, speeches, and cute little views of the audience... It's all so nice to see! Reputation is my favorite Taylor Swift album, so out of all of the album tours to be remembered... Happy it's this one.

Wow what a performer!
muamba_eats_toast25 April 2020
I liked the odd Taylor song before watching this but in truth I just stumbled across it and missing live music atm put it on not expecting to much. Less than half hour in I was already blown away by both the performance and the level of detail put into the set was one of the better shows I'd seen will certainly try and get tickets next time she tours the UK.

Taylor Swift slithers her way to the top again!
thecritiquer1 January 2019
Taylor Swift has always been a perfectionist. She never leaves a single stone unturned and this tour is a marvelous example of the same. Performing hits after hits mashed up along with the songs off her latest album which was the highest selling album of 2018 in US, Taylor Swift really showed why she's a force to be reckoned with. From captivating visuals to firecrackers to ginormous stages to intricate details to amazing choreography to live instruments and vocals (something we rarely see in pop culture anymore), Taylor Swift impressed the millions she played to on this tour and now she's impressing millions more with the new netflix movie. Watch this 2 hour movie and get lost in its marvel!

Taylor Swift in her most awaited stadium tour ever. I've got one word for it, WOW! She really wanted everyone to enjoy, she thought things through from the concert goers up to people who'll watch this. I felt like I was with them. Made me cry as well.

Congrats to Taylor Swift for releasing her stadium tour in Netflix, large number of people will get to view it including countries who never got to experience Reputation World Tour.

I saw the tour in Dublin and it was such an amazing experience! I got to experience it all again in high quality on Netflix which I find very fortunate. The tour movie just shows how passionate she is and hardworking and how loving she is to all her swifties !

This was awesome
Nastybedazzler1 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I hardly like pop music really but I'm open to everything and if it's good I'm cool with it, and if I do like it it's only a few artists that write their own songs. That's important to me I don't like pop music from someone hired to do other people's songs. Everyone that does pop mostly sucks in my opinion. I like metal and rock mostly, the last show I went to was slayer with lamb of God in Grand rapids. I saw this come up on Netflix and gave it a shot and it was awesome. Taylor Swift is one of those artists that I always liked because she writes her own songs and can sing them live, that's important to me as I hate the pop stars that sing other people's songs and then lip sync live. Taylor Swift put out a show that is on par with the last Slayer show I saw. Pure talent and trying hard to cater to every fan in the crowd even if she has to take a crane held platform to get there. Then she plays guitar herself for a couple songs. Ask any metal guy, we mostly care about talent and we care about stuff like this, and while it might not be our cup of tea, unlike most other people when it comes to our music, we can appreciate the hell out of this. This girl is talented and apparently she puts on a great show.

Ruined by the distracting editing
joesayl3 January 2019
The editing is so lightening quick, no single shot lasts for more than a half second or so. After 5 minutes I could no longer focus on the music or the performance because the visuals were popping by so quickly my eyes we're exhausted. It's a real shame. I would love to watch a better edited version.

Note to editors who use this annoying style: you're asking the human eye and brain to do things they aren't designed to do and ultimately creating a distraction from the experience.

Taylor Swift's best tour and one of the best tour movies of all time
jerryswift4792 January 2019
Paul Dugdale brings Taylor Swift's impeccable "reputation Stadium Tour" to the small screen so wondrously. Despite having a cold, Taylor was still able to hit every note and ever move. But the quality of this film and overall concert doesn't come from the vocals or the chereo, it comes from Swift's effortless ability to make EVERY fan feel like they are right in front of her face. Not many artists can make a 2 hour concert film fun to watch, but Taylor changes that by her ability to simply own a stage, but remain humble. Swift shines vocally in "I Did Something Bad" and "Don't Blame Me" while she makes bold statements with "...Ready For It?" and "Look What You Made Me Do". She also shows how vulnerable she really is with "Delicate," "Dancing With Our Hands Tied," "Getaway Car," and "Call It What You Want". The overall concert film was a ride that I want to ride over and over again.

A fitting next level concert film for a next level live show.
joshhandley-276971 January 2019
I was excited for this from the beginning, however mostly expected them to take the feed from the cameras used to relay video of the stage to the audience...

However I was blown away by the cinematography, camera movement and image quality and did not expect them to fill the stadium with 22 cinema cameras! The audio was also as close to perfect as you can get throughout, all the stops were pulled out for this film!

Taylor is obviously an icon and owns the stage along with her band and backup dancers with an exciting set of new songs and throwbacks, epic moments and more intimate ones with the audience. The actual stage is impressive in scale (In the credits a crew-member mentions it is larger in width an length than a Boeing 767!) and is a step-up even compared to some of the biggest stadium productions!

A great way to end 2018 and a fantastic show of not only Taylor's live talent but also the technical capabilities of what is possible in live music and video production!

I'll watch it over and over and over again if I could
davidgriffin-910-2271261 January 2019
This is hands down the best tour ever ! Her vocals, the visuals , the dancing , the fans. She should be called Slaylor because that's what she does, slays ! The high quality edition of all the songs live is amazing because you can see all the hard work that's gone into every song such as the dancers' movement. Taylor Swift is the artist of the 21st century and she has no competition because it's hard to find an artist these days who writes their own material.

I am so so in love with the production for this tour. Amazing choices of songs with throwbacks scheme, lighting and cinematography. So sad that I cannot enjoy it with all five of my senses live, but hey, the movie really satisfies me.

TAYLOR SWIFT ON TOP OF THE GAME
ali_zergham30 March 2020
They said she is done. They said she will perform in empty stadiums. And what happened? With just 53 concerts she made 350 Million $. It was the highest grossing tour in US history and the second highest by a female artist worldwide ever. Every single one of the 2,9 Million tickets was sold. She performed in front of an average of 55000 Swifties each night. She put out an imense show with effects, dancers, choreography and playing her instruments very well. Before and after each show she hosted free m&g. In 2018 she also had the top selling album, signed a 200 Million $ deal with UMG and is now the second most awarded person in American Music Award history. QUEEN TAYLOR we love you.

Won't rate it because I'm not the target audience
icymi-3790619 January 2019
Made a resolution to watch the new shows with high ratings, so I caught up with this on Netflix. I've heard her music off and on over the years, nothing special imo, some nice songs but I wanted to witness the cultural phenomenon that is Taylor Swift. Impressions? Very beautiful face, nice normal figure that's healthy not stick thin, gorgeous sets, average music. She has the personality of a very charming politician. It's not like she's disingenuous, it's just very polished and likeable and she always says the right thing. Probably a fascinating study on how to raise one's Q rating with the general public.

As a 50 year old, I wondered whether I was being biased because I grew up in a different era so do I think the songs in the sixties, seventies, eighties were more profound because I grew up with them? Or are they actually better?

Until she comes out with her version of the White album, I'm going to have to go with the older stuff is better. But she seems like a sweet woman, and she makes people happy, so that's probably the most important thing in the grand scheme of things.

Her old songs are much better
ivan20125 January 2019
She's clearly a great performer and adored by her diehard fans, but I didn't think any of her new songs on this 'reputation' album were that good. No catchy tunes and nothing that I would really want to listen to again. She does perform several of her old songs during this concert. Those are the only moments that made this concert watchable.

Spectacular
mollycardetole1 January 2019
Taylor's Reputation Stadium Tour is the kind of show that can feel both a global event and an intimate moment at the same time. It's her power. In this one, Taylor perfectly blends smash hits and global superstar production with her classic acoustic and intimate guitar set. She can effortlessly go from belting under a 40 feet inflatable cobra to a teary piano ballad that brings the audience to tears. I recommend this Netflix show to both die-hard fans and casual listeners of Taylor's music. It's a powerful statement of her stature as of the biggest popstars on Earth. 10/10!

This film is really like a new year's gift to anyone. We can feel like every words Taylor sings on this film is for her fans. This film makes you appreciate in a close range how big the efforts, loves and dedication that both taylor and her crews put to make this tour a success. What a year! Definitely the best way to end 2018 and to fresh start 2019

I wasn't a fan of reputation until I saw this. I was like wow since the begining. Ready for it plus lightning plus the smoke is PERFECT. Every song is led by taylor's speeches, giving the audience the closeness to her. Everything is STUNNING. I've watched it like a billion times, and I can even remember what she was going to say. Loved it

The rep Tour: A One In A Life Time Show That Must Be Watched
vickyalberto1 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The reputation Stadium Tour was a one in a lifetime kind of situation, one of those concerts that will take many decades to be surpassed, if that ever happens. When everyone thought Taylor Swift had reached her peak, she came back with a game-changing record-breaking show that summed up her full-of-hits career perfectly, along with celebrating her latest album, the best selling of 2018, 'reputation'. Taylor was in every detail. She sang the very best of her tunes, gave very eloquent and inspiring personal speeches for her fans (of all ages may I say), danced (YES) and sang like never before and, even despite all the heavy production of the show, she took time to strip the music down for a minute and sing some of her oldest songs acoustically, just for the fans, like in the old days. Honestly, Taylor had never been as personal and raw as she was during this tour, even when it could seem like the total opposite, since she would sing for a +60k crowd each night. The show was an event of massive scales: there were fireworks all over the place, a gigantic screen (biggest made for a concert), a huge stage that would reflect images, two extra stages in the middle of the field and flying carriages (yes), not to mention the light up bracelets each fan would get, that would create figures along the crowd! It was no mean feat to make this show a movie. There were too many sides to cover. However, it was perfectly accomplished. The movie sums up perfectly how incredible the show was. Fans who attended will relive all the memories again as many times as they want and those who didn't get the chance to be there will get a full glimpse of the reputation era and the marvelous artist Taylor is. Overall, Taylor Swift took this concert to a superior level and this movie reflects that. She keeps re-doing herself over and over again, for the better, even when that seems impossible! Her perfectionism and creativeness did wonders, as per usual. I feel lucky that I got the chance to attend the tour and grateful that now I get to watch it all over again in my living room. Watch the movie, it's amazing!
