Tomberlin goes full cottagecore in the video for “Happy Accident,” the first taste of her upcoming album ‘I Don’t Know Who Needs to Hear This…’
The black-and-white clip opens in the woods, while a message about magic once ruling the forest scrolls across the screen. Sarah Beth Tomberlin enters behind a crunchy guitar riff: “What’s the point of this/If I know how it ends?”
“‘Happy Accident’ is a song about relational obscurity,” she said in a statement. “Trying to sort out who you are or who you were to someone.

(Warning: The following story includes spoilers from the “Black Mirror” Season 5 episode “Striking Vipers.”)
Marvel and DC Comics fans finally got their long-awaited crossover on the screen, just probably not in the way they would’ve expected.
The cast for “Striking Vipers,” one of the three episodes of the fifth season of Netflix’s “Black Mirror,” includes Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Anthony Mackie, Ludi Lin and Pom Klementieff. And if those names all sound familiar, it’s because they’ve all appeared in either a DC Comics-based or Marvel Studios film.
So we asked “Black Mirror” creator and co-showrunner Charlie Brooker if that was on purpose — hey, this is “Black Mirror” after all — or if the whole thing was just a happy coincidence. “That was an accident of casting,” Brooker told TheWrap. “We were just casting the best people for the job. It was afterwords we thought, ‘Oh this is quite a universes colliding.

It’s late April. Normally at this time TV business’ attention is focused almost squarely on the broadcast pilot season as it is heading into its final stages — network pilot screenings followed by new series pickups. But this is not a normal time. With the WGA-Ata standoff completely dominating the Hollywood conversation following the mass firing of agents by writers, it has been hard for anyone to focus on pilot season. Here is what I hear is hot at the networks. Keep in mind that the information is still incomplete as not all pilots have been delivered to the networks. We will have a fuller picture at the end of next week when most of the pilots will have screened.

It’s April, and Deadline is launching its annual Pilot Panic feature where we track buzz on the broadcast pilots as they go through production and and testing. We are late out of the gate this year, but that’s understandable — it’s been an extraordinary time of upheaval in the business, with 13,000 writers on Friday told by the WGA to fire their agents after the guild and the Ata could not reach a new franchise agreement.
The 2019 broadcast pilot season has been completely overshadowed by the WGA-ata battle. Still, handicapping broadcast pilots is a Deadline tradition, so let’s get to it. As usual, the first story is very sketchy and preliminary as many pilots are still in production and very few have been delivered. Here is a list of some pilots that are getting strong early buzz based on a combination of auspices, script, table read, taping or dailies.
