A Decent second half and an emotional climax makes with worth the watch!!
karthiknmech11 May 2019
As it was already declared that Ayogya is an official remake of Jr NTRs Temper (also remade as Simba by Rohit shetty with Ranveer singh), one can know what to expect from this offering.

Somehow I didn't get a chance to watch both the previous versions and hence thought of catching up this one. After having already known about the story line, there is nothing new that is being offered in the first half. Almost the entire first half is spent in establishing the character of Lead actor Vishal (who has executed a neat performance as Police officer Karnan). The romantic sequences were potrayed in a silly manner and doesn't fit in at all. As expected it is towards the interval the movie seem to pick up slight momentum.

Once the core plot is revealed through Pooja devaraya in the second half, the pace gets set in. The movie keeps moving at a gripping pace until the climax - thanks to the emotional and action sequences which makes the right impact with audience.

Rashi Kanna is Cute; Ks Ravikumar scores big as a honest cop. Parthiban as Kalirajan keeps reminding us of his performance from Naanum rowdy thaan - May be due to a similar role, but does well here too.

Climax deserves a special mention as it is well thought of and fits in nicely to give an emotional end to the movie. Given the social message this movie tries to convey, the twist executed by the protagonist seems to be the apt way to establish the seriousness and need for a strong punishment for such offences.

If you haven't watched the original versions like me, then this would definitely be worth the watch - atleast for the first time.

Ayogya

Good Movie. Everybody acted very well in the movie. Songs in the movie were somewhat good. BGM was good in the movie. The movie bored and lagged a lot at 1st half. The movie was interesting at 2nd half. Fight scenes in the movie were excellent. The movie had a different climax ever in a Vishal Movie. Good Movie.

Feministic Commercial Entertainer
saru202011 July 2019
Feministic genre! A racy entertainer with a neat twist in the end although it could've been much better, I guess this gives a comeback for Vishal after a long time.

Nothing worth to watch in the movie. It's the same old story over and over again... About cop avenging rape.

Worst.....
srikant-9748613 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Too much of built ups for a dummy hero with a dummy voice. Over acting.. This remake is no match for the original version TEMPER in telugu which was acted by Junior NTR. Even the hindi version is better than the tamil version. It's Such a waste of time.

Worse ever Vishal movie.
devsingh-1472516 June 2019
This is a remake of Hindi movie Simba. I think I'll give hats off to ranveer singh's performance. Ayogya is merely full of crap and totally a disappointment for visal fans. Baseless movie ending or climax. Total disaster movie too much drama rather than action.

Ayogya Review
Magow-Intermean19 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
An unapologetically corrupt cop realises his mistakes and stands up for a noble cause to ensure that a few criminals get severe punishment. The subject of Venkat Mohan's Ayogya is relevant in today's times as it deals with a brutal crime against a woman. An average audience can connect to the movie because the incidents in the film have resemblance to some of the crimes that shook the state in the recent times. The story begins with an insane cop, Karnan (Vishal), getting transferred to Chennai from Thoothukudi. His transfer was initiated by Kalirajan (Parthiban), a criminal, who is into various anti-social activities, for his selfish needs. Karnan, who has a self-confessed love for money, takes charge as the inspector and lets Kalirajan's brothers go scot free. Unfortunately, the brothers engage in unforgiving crime. How this affects the life of a few people and what Karnan undergoes later forms the rest of the story. Vishal is decent as the cop with zero ethics, and Parthiban, as the drug lord who is ready to go to any extent to save his brothers, isn't bad either. As the movie is a remake, comparisons can't be avoided completely. Ayogya is more or less the same as its original version (the Telugu film Temper, which was recently remade in Hindi as Simmba, including the characterisations and locations, except for the unexpected climax. The dialogues in the Telugu version are merely translated into Tamil in most of the scenes, and so, this film may not appeal to those who had watched the original. Vishal's over-the-top performance has shades of Jr NTR's in the Telugu version. Raashi Khanna manages to do what Kajal Aggarwal had portrayed, but KS Ravikumar's portrayal of an honest cop should have been more engaging. The fight sequences are interestingly shot while the music is okayish. The big plus for the film is its time of release as it helps audience relate to the film because of the real-life events. The uncompromising climax, too, is likely to go down well with viewers. It conveys the message without being preachy and underlines the importance of court giving their verdict immediately for sensitive cases.

Childish Script and lukewarm story...
saviokad-2938317 January 2020
As per our jurisprudence.....It says

"It is better that one hundred innocent persons should escape than that one innocent person should suffer."

This movie is against it...The court scenes are childish....No court can pass a verdict that way.

Instead of a positive message a negative message is given....Wasted my time watching this crap movie....

A faithful remake of Temper.
Achyut_Prashast_Singh28 June 2019
After seeing Temper, I was sure no other film could ever top it. It's still my favorite cop action film till date, but since I'm a big fan of Vishal, I couldn't stop myself from watching Ayogya, the official Tamil-language remake. Usually before, during and after watching the remake of a classic, it's quite normal to make comparisons. Trust me, while there were some parts where I did that, I mostly found Ayogya a different film despite of mostly being a scene-by-scene remake.

What actually changes it course is the ending and the few minutes before it. As known to all, the climax was changed as Vishal wanted it to. And this is the major reason why I became more eager to check it out. Despite of being a remake, what differentiates Ayogya from Temper is the tone. Temper too was an outstandingly crafted, serious-and-spicy film, but Ayogya turned out to be more grounded in terms of storytelling. Another thing that changes is the action. Temper's action sequences were more realistic and less stylized while Ayogya's action is stylized and at times even better than those in Temper.

The color tone in Ayogya is also something that has to be praised. It's exactly what a cop action film should be like: action-packed, emotional, tension-filled and gripping. The director has adapted it well to suit the Tamil audiences, despite of the fact that a film of this subject appeals to viewers of any kind.

Vishal's impressive as an action hero, but this time you get to see him as a performer too. It's hard for me to compare his performance with that of Jr. NTR since the original is original, that's true. But Vishal truly owns Ayogya with his outstanding act. Other actors have also done an impressive job.

Yes, Ayogya is a full-on mass action entertainer with terrific action sequences, heroic elevations, peppy dance numbers, a little bit of irreverent humor and mass emotions that are the real highlights of the film. But the climax is what really turns this into an offbeat action film instead of a fully commercial one. That being said, while I still love Temper to the core, Ayogya too joins the top spot along with it. Because while I agree that Ayogya has a grounded climax, Temper too has a climax that entertains and connects emotionally.

not so good
r_soorya18 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This film starts out fine, and Vishal's acting works as long as he is an "Ayogya". However, what's regarded as a daring climax for this movie is absolutely horribly done with no reality and in fact mocks victims of gang rape. It is no surprise that cop movies nowadays mention rape in one form or another. As such is done in this movie, but it feels like Vishal and Venkat Mohan have used the victims of pollachi for their own movie profits. This movie goes south once "Karna" turns into a good guy over night. Rather than providing a good climax, the directed has made a mockery of the audience, the justice system, and most importantly the real victims.

DOES NOT SUIT VISHAL!
najib-0274925 June 2019
This movie is a remake of Telugu movie 'Temper' enacted by Jr NTR, about a corrupt police office reforming after a personal loss. Despite its flaws, it was a great commercial movie with good social message and enough scope for Heroism.

BUT

This character does not suit Vishal at all!! In many instances, you can notice he is trying too hard to imitate Jr NTR to be a corrupt police but.....he FAILS!

VIshal is more suitable for a positive, honest roles like in Satyam and Irumbu Thirai. Even the song 'Vera level', which is a remix of megahit Telugu song 'Blockbuster', requires a powerful fast dance choreography which VISHAL will definitely cannot match!

I personally think someone like SIMBHU or AARYA would have been a better choice to play this role. It's a missed opportunity!

Super movie.
JoKuCh21 August 2021
Eventhough the first half is soo slow and irritated... The second half will give the worth of of watching. The second half is tightly packed with emotions and the truth that can happen. When I started to watch the movie I didn't expect this emotional ending, also thought this was all about comedy.. But from the starting of the second half entire flow of the film changes to the most emotional and sensational truths around us.. Anyway this film is awesome and worth watching...

The surprising and hard-hitting climax makes Ayogya a watchable entertainer
kumarankulam5 February 2021
Ayogya is the remake of the Telugu film "Temper". It features Vishal in the lead role and has Parthiepan playing the antagonist. Well, this is the first time that I see Vishal playing a grey shade role. He is a corrupted police officer and with so many flaws. His only desire in life is money, money, and money. Vishal's performance in this film seems to be the only breathing element that keeps us driving along with him. The other supporting actors have nothing more than accusing Vishal's Karnan for his bad deeds or encourage him to go further. Parthiepan who enjoyed a very interesting negative role in Naanum Rowdy Dhaan seems to have not so much to do in this film. Ayogya has unnecessary subplots and deviating songs which reduces the pace of the film. The not so interesting first half seems to have a better second half. In fact, Ayogya's main strength lies in the second half where the film changes its color. We are getting more serious and we get what we need from the film. There are so many things that are happening through the narration and Vishal's transformation from the corrupted police officer to the reforming responsible police officer shines brightly in this middling action film. Sam C.S's soundtrack doesn't add anything to the film but his background score is worth it. As a director, Venkat Mohan packaged Ayogya with the usual commercial elements and a very strong and sincere social message. Honestly, the climax is the place where Ayogya becomes unique and refreshing. The intense dialogues and the bold performance of Vishal seems to lift that special portion to a new extent. Overall, the surprising and hard-hitting climax makes Ayogya a watchable entertainer.
