Pleasant time waster

I didn't find it horrific at all.

I aimlessly cane across it, watched it. Enjoyed it. I mean sure it's not going to win an Emmy but it happily filled in a few hours.

I didn't know anything about this guy and I honestly felt bad for him.

Dont hate!Not a classic but it is a good one.6/10

I dont know why the people in here hating so much! This is a realistic mini movie about the organized crime in Australia. Not a classic but as a fan of the gangster/prison flicks I liked it.

This movie/2 part series shows all that can wrong when an inept Australian film production company is let loose. The worst Australian crime show/movie/series I have ever watched.

The main character and story is centered around the Pasquale Timothy Barbaro. He is an Italian crim apparently, who wants to live the good life in Sydney. He doesn't give a lot of thought to the decisions he makes or the consequences. Alexander Bertrand who plays the Italian Pasquale, plays him with an Arabic accent? Supposedly based on a true story, if it was a true story, it was must of been a bad story.

It seriously looks like the crew from Fat Pizza/Houso's made this mess.

How anyone could rate this rubbish at a 2 or more is a total mystery to me.

Pasquale Barbaro make Tony Montana look like Albert Einstein. Thoroughly ridiculous Ozzy gangster tale that take ineptitude to a new low. Was there actually a script for this piece of trash? Seems like it was made up on the fly with actors pulled out of a local Sydney gym. Watchable only for how not to do a mob film.

Criminals are often very unpleasant

Thought I would try to counter some of the other reviews. Violent criminals are mostly very unpleasant people and this show is full of such people. Paz is not a lovable crim like Ray Shoesmith (Mr Inbertween) Paz is man of low intelligence and high energy trying to climb to the top. He and his colleagues are deeply unpleasant individuals who should be locked up or shot depending on your point of view. They are violent and deeply unpleasant asshats. In that respects they remind me of the characters in Goodfellas, a film I can no longer watch. Much as I love Ray Shoesmith as a character, I hate Paz, I want to see him dead. This is not bad acting, bad acting I wouldn't care. I will admit I find the film hard to watch because the show is full of authentically nasty characters.

Anyone who has been on the receiving end of such people would most likely agree (if they are left alive.)

I normally enjoy in aussie shows because they are fresh and quite different from the shows their US cousins make. But this one..omg..I dont thin ive ever seen such a bad acting..directing..everything.. Avoid this at all cost lol.

I almost didn't watch this because of the low rating , glad I ignored that , found it a very entertaining watch , has quite an underbelly vibe.

Edgy funny. Suspenseful and ultimatly sad.

I read online the poor wife asked them not to broadcast this show for her children who are struggling emotionally with their father death. She said the show was not accurate and was filmed without her consent. The shear audacity these incompetent and immoral clowns have shown is disgraceful. If you want to make a film first please do not disgrace the Italian community making two Italians sound like western suburb housos straight out of Fat Pizza. Racist and unethical, Channel 7 and Roadshow should be called Australian Pranksters after this stunt. If you are going to make a film based on a so called True Story make the story true please! Where did these clowns get their facts from exactly? The acting was shocking, the storyline was boring as hell and the set design was even worse! I cannot see what anyone would find as entertaining about this even an ex cop said to the daily mail recently that this show was not based on facts. Just the figment of some sick persons imagination. So the question is what was the point of this? Alot of my friends have said it was a vindictive attack on a widow and her kids after watching this crap I 100% agree.

If people knew anything about southwest Sydney, they'd understand the reason actors talk and behave in such a way, spot on acting , spot on performance.

Disgraceful maybe the people doing the show should actually look at the facts and not make up the whole thing.

Acting was terrible and the main actor did not act like Pasquale one bit. 👎🏻

The shorts were full of promise but the actual show was terrible. The storyline was lacklustre and was really rushed. The acting was good however it was let down by the poor script. Such a shame.

Some people will find the way the main character talks and acts annoying but anyone that's ever dealt with criminals, will know that this is accurate the ones that hang with lebbo gangsters and Nikie bikies more so act and talk exactly like this. Great show so far.

I only watched this show because I thought it was about Pasquale Barbaro. I think this guy had a much better story to be told about him. Very disapointing.

Went into this hoping to see something along the lines of the underbelly series of period crime drama! By that i mean at least half way decent writing and acting! This is just out and out terrible with not one redeeming quality! Maybe in ten or so years it might get cult status as one of those shows that's so bad its good but i doubt it.

Australian Disgrace

I thought this would be a great show I was excited to watch it. But for someone who was actually there and worked with Pasquale Barbaro for many years the entire connotation of this show was appalling extremely shocking and disappointing. On what planet is George Alex a good guy or a property developer? I almost fell off my chair and choked on my popcorn watching this hack job of a production. Watching this was literally 4 hours of pain. I feel like sending an invoice for my time. To the writers of this disaster please get your Facts straight before you start garbaging one of the best guys to have ever lived to the nation. The guy never spoke like a flop from Fat Pizza when he walked into a meeting people listened he could know nothing and get a 5 minute briefing from me and close the deal. Ive never seen anything like that in my life! Clearly this was concocted for George Alex and a couple of westy jailbirds who made up nothing but lies to get some clout. Ask big Jim Burns about that DEVIL George Alex. I hope he gets whats coming his way in Darcy when he gets convicted this year! I feel sorry for the actors in this show who were directed to literally destroy their careers! How they are proud to present this as their work astounds me! I hope Dan Edwards and Gregor Jordan never interfere in True Crime again as the only category Australian Gangster can possibly be classified as is True Garbage. Can a real production company do the REAL STORY please? That would be something worth watching...

I rarely watch anything made in Australia and this is a prime example why, the acting was bad, really bad. I am not a fan of children in movies and TV and in this mini series they were especially annoying. Give this a miss.

Don't waste your time

I loved Alexander in Les Norton so I was very excited to see he was returning to TV with this show. I usually love Underbelly and mini series like those so I was expecting this would be up there, but I was very wrong. I got through most of the first episode but it was so bad that I was cringing. The accent he put on didn't sit right with me personally, because I feel they should have cast someone else. It made it hard to take the show seriously. The acting by everyone involved wasn't great. Wouldn't recommend it although I never finished it either.
