- Characters are chased and attacked by ferocious aquatic dinosaurs and relentless prehistoric sharks.
- During one scene, characters face additional danger from low oxygen levels.
- This film has a lot more jumpscares than the first, that's the scariest part of it though. Jumpscares occur throughout and are loud and scary.
- In an extremely gruesome scene, the POV of people swallowed by a shark is shown. Its teeth are visible cutting through their bodies with blood leaking from them.
- There are infrequent jump scares.

Violence & Gore
- Giant Octopus's tentacles get chopped of by helicopter rotor blades.
- The final kill of the shark is done by Jonas taking a helicopter rotator blade, and putting in through the top of its mouth, you see it go through the head of the meg. Blood is seen leaking from the wound.
- A girls head implodes and gets liquified.
- A shark's mouth is stabbed with a giant metal object, nothing too explicit even though is pretty realistic.

- A jump scare occurs when the shark eats a T. Rex.
