Good timepass movie
maruthuk-8230716 September 2019
Felt like watching a drama, as there are not too many characters! Some of the comedy scenes were very good and movie has been shot on the picturesque locations of Mauritius, really liked those locations! If they are planning for a sequel, they should make it better!

It's a bad sequel

This is a bad sequel of the first movie, it's not really that enjoyable but I liked the first 15 minutes of it and it's what's good in it.

Pathetic film
jprakash-69322 August 2019
Considering how the first part fared at the box office and below average critics reviews, there was absolutely no need to make this film. Even if they had to make one and cash in on the franchise, they should have invested in a decent storyline. But after watching this film, you can't help but abuse the makers. There is absolutely no story, no entertainment, no fun at all. The lead pair seemed to have gave in even before the filming begun and seemed to be going through the motions. Tamanaah, a beautiful actress no doubt, but she should at least think for a whole why she is signing a film. There was nothing for her to do here. Same for Prabhu Deva who seemed totally lost and disinterested. A pathetic film by all means. Avoid this headache.

Devi 2 Review
margulanabutrlov11 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
A doting wife goes through a hard time trying to save her husband who is possessed by two spirits Many films in the recent past which were billed as 'horror-comedy' were devoid of both the elements - Vijay's Devi 2 is the latest to join the bandwagon. The first part which had Tamannaah and Prabhu Deva in good form is wasted here, thanks to mediocre writing. Contrary to the prequel, Devi 2 has Krishna (Prabhu Deva) possessed by two spirits, while his wife Devi (Tamannaah) has a tough time dealing with it with the help of a friend (Kovai Sarala). How Devi resorts to various ways to save her husband and their family life is narrated in a dull manner. The story, this time, is set in the backdrop of Mauritius for an unconvincing reason and many scenes appear staged and unreal. The parallel tracks involving Nandita and Dimple do not leave any impact and the mash-up of scenes from other films in a crucial scene shows dearth of originality. Sonu Sood and RJ Balaji make brief and ineffective appearances, and Kovai Sarala does what she does in most of the films. The songs do not add any value to the film, and the conflicts and antagonists are poorly written. A half-baked story with a decent star cast with good potential is let down due to lack of interest which is evident throughout. Overall, Devi 2 joins the long list of unimpressive sequels in Kollywood.

As good as the first part. Every scene works and is good simple fun. Prabhu deva keeps chosing and working on good movies. Tamanna is super as always. Everyone has done a good job.

My Krishna Or Your Alex/Ranga Reddy?!
TharsheyN17 February 2023
Devi 2 is a sequel set 2 to 3 years in the future, after the events of Devi. This time however Ruby has given out Krishna's name as your go to person to possess to solve the problems you had while alive. Unfortunately Krishna gets possessed by 2 ghosts at the same time, Alex and Ranga Reddy. Who each loved 1 of 2 sisters but was brutally murdered by the same guy who wanted to marry them for their wealth.

Anyway long story short, Devi 2 has Devi now having to deal with her possessed husband and fulfill the contract terms made with the ghosts to get them to leave her husband alone. However this is where the movie loses all it's points for me, Instead of Krishna figuring out what's happening to him which he should have considering his wife's previous possession and behavior he seems completely unable to. Like seriously his "waking up" in strange areas missing memory of an entire day or week and doesn't put 2 and 2 together. His wife was the same when possessed yet he can't connect the dots. Really, really stupid script writing there.

Anyway besides the kinda lousy story which I feel they could have done a much better job on the casting was really good this time as well. Prabhu Deva and Tamannaah both reprised their roles and once again gave amazing performances. Like seriously if their acting was not as amazing as it was this movie would have been 100x worse. Even Sonu Sood's little cameo in the end was top notch and I loved it. They did however add a new character Lalitha played by Kovai Sarala and she was soo annoying I wanted to shoot myself in the face. Seriously got a headache from listening to her character ramble on on screen.

Music wise there was one absolutely fantastic song performed by Tamannaah that will leave you mind blown. Besides that though the other songs were just average I feel.

Anyway to sum this review up, Movie was alright, lacked some pretty basic logic and reasoning and had an annoying asf character but besides that was a good laugh and I enjoyed it. A 7/10 from me purely because of the amazing performances by Tamannaah, Prabhu Deva and Sonu Sood. I hope they don't make another one or if they do poor Krishna and Devi can live their lives in peace...

1 rated 10 because first time I saw a horror + comedy movie.Such a awesome creation.Actually there is nothing in the movie, not at all a good story .But the way it created is good. Casting is really suited. Music is so poor. The one of the best is the movie shows the beauty of Mauritius.
