Sex & Nudity

  • There's a running gag where men show Vinnie their penis in the first series.
  • About 5 sex scenes in series one, one takes place off screen however he hear it. One sex scene is pretty explicit.
  • Lots of strong sexual references.
  • One of the main characters runs a sex club.
  • A few scenes take place in a stip club. However it's mostly scantily clad women show with only few instances of nudity beyond that.
  • There's a porno played on a phone we see brief glimpses of it but nothing majorly graphic. Moaning can be heard.
  • A man masturbates in a restaurant cubicle and accidentally gets his own semen on his phone screen then in his hair.
  • It is mentioned the meds Vinnie takes give him a low libido meaning he has an extremely low sex drive.

Violence & Gore

  • Some instances of violence and threats of violence some are more severe than others as most are played for laughs.
  • One episode involves bare knuckle boxing.
  • A few non graphic fistfights and moments of slap stick comedy. A man gets a nail stuck in his head and another man pulls it out some blood.
  • Not very violent aside from one or two scenes.

Profanity

  • Frequent uses of 'fuck' and 'shit/shite'.
  • A few uses of 'cunt' every few episodes.
  • Strong language throughout.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Characters smoke and sell weed the protagonist is seen growing it.
  • Some use of harder drugs such a cocaine but never frequent and usually brief however it is mentioned a man is bad on hard drugs especially cocaine.
  • Social drinking and cigarette smoking.
  • Season 2 contains far less drug content than the first although an episode revolves around the main characters starting a music festival to sell weed. Some weed smoking is seen and a few scenes show weed being grown however nothing too graphic. There are mentions of "E" ecastacy but it's never shown or went into much more beyond a few references.
  • The protagonist takes medication for mental health purposes and are proscribed to him by a GP.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The show is mostly a comedy with dramatic moments.
  • Some tense situations the protagonists get into each episode has the main character Vinnie comically dealing with several situations at once and being extremely overwhelmed. One situation he gets into with a local mobster is pretty intense.
  • The show deals with petty thieves as they plan a heist each episode occasionally leading them into intense encounters however they usually end up in mostly comedic situations.
  • The show has some heartfelt moments a long side the comedy and drama.
  • The show deals with a number of serious topics that won't be mentioned here due to spoilers. The shows protagonist Vinnie has bipolar and the show occasionally explores mental illness.
  • The show deals with some heavy material such as mental illness, suicide and other serious subject matter. The protagonist deals with bipolar disorder however the show is mostly comedic but isn't afraid to get dark and serious at points particularly in season 1.

Sex & Nudity

  • It is revealed Vinnie is Tyler's dad after a drunken one night stand with Erin. The one night stand is never shown.

Violence & Gore

  • A mans head is severed by a stop sign whilst his head is outside of a moving car. A group of men then cut the head off of a dead body and attach the severed head to the dead body. This is the most gruesome content in the show and is darkly funny rather than being disturbing.
  • Erin's new boyfriend's brother punches her in the face a few times in a car. Then tries to run her over.
  • A man is shot with blood splatter. This is revealed by o be staged later.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There is a scene where a gangster threatens to cut off Vinnies penis it is pretty intense. This is the most intense scene in series 1.
  • Erin aborts Dylans baby this is extremely sad as we get the perspective of both characters and what they're dealing with.
