Spoiled by outstanding medical inaccuracy..

"Here- give one of these to everyone affected" "What is it?" "Hydroxycobalamin, counteracts the effects of cyanide" *hands over cyanide antidote kits*

Next scene:

"As everyone knows, there is no antidote to cyanide"

Seriously? If something counteracts the effects of something, it's an antidote. Cyanide antidote kits are not new and are standard first aid in many areas.

I know tv edits facts to fit the narrative, but come on. Not only wrong, but contradicting itself. Get a new medical advisor.

It's a higher rating than episode 4. I gave it a one star because I couldn't get any lower. I'm not in the medical profession and I know how ridiculous this episode was.

As a nurse I torture myself each week watching this show and wonder if they even have a technical advisor. On a weekly basis I see MD's ordering narcotics and nurses turning to what is obviously an unlocked cart in the room and dispensing whatever narcotic ordered without documenting it's removal. I'm sorry I don't think that the the state of Illinois or the DEA would be very happy. This week went even further when the thoracic surgeon struck an IV in her arm and connected it to the patient to give him her blood while assisting with his surgery?! There are multitudes of problems with that scenario like ABO incompatibility etc. Please guys the trauma and drama of an ER is exciting enough without that nonsense.

"Toxic Chemical"

Warning: Spoilers
I'm sorry, WHAT?!

Dangerous substances (like cyanide) are always stored in clearly labelled containers, not with an ambiguous "Toxic Chemical" label. That is ridiculous.

Also, there are several antidotes to cyanide, which even a basic internet search would have told whoever wrote this episode.

I know we don't watch the One Chicago shoes for their faultless accuracy, but come on, make SOME effort!!
