Overall a very good, sometimes great season, but the finale is a bit underwhelming. It starts out very exciting, with a perfectly executed blindside, but the other tribal council is less thrilling, and the final tribal is just extremely predictable. Regardless of how I persnonally feel about the winner (never liked him, found him pretty stale), he IS a worthy winner. Especally with his three consecutive immunity wins. The problem is, he is sitting at the Final 3 with a person whose money and real-life success would always take away the focus from his impressively slithery game (arguably better than the winner's - he certainly masterminded more vote-offs), and another person whose conplete lack of self-awareness is embarrassing to watch (to completely misplay an idol, be taken in the finals as a 100% goat, and pretty much be told as much to your face, and still think you have accomplished a triumph when none of the jury is even taking you seriously, is shocking). The result was never in doubt (though the runner-up's three votes were somewhat of a surprise). I will give a shoutout to Kara, who played by far the best social game of the season, was always included in other people's plans, and NEVER received a single vote against her; If she had won that F4 immunity or the firemaking challenge, she might have been the winner. I won't claim that she was "robbed" (she missed two huge opportunities herself), but I WILL claim that she deserves a second chance as a zero-vote elimination. Gabby and Natalia have potential as returnees as well. *** out of 4 for the finale as a whole.
So long season 37, it's been fun....bring on season 38!
P.S. I do hope they start coming up with some new challenges, they need to stop recycling the same ones all the time.
