Back in 2022, Get Out, Us, and Nope writer/director Jordan Peele‘s production company Monkeypaw Productions acquired the genre film pitch Goat from writers Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie, the plan being that Peele would be producing Goat as part of Monkeypaw’s overall deal with Universal Pictures. The sports-related horror project made its way through production under the title Him earlier this year, and now – even though the movie won’t be reaching theatres until September 19, 2025 – the finished product has been given its rating from the Motion Picture Association ratings board. Him has been rated R for strong/bloody violence, language throughout, sexual material, nudity and some drug use.
Justin Tipping – who made his feature directorial debut with the 2016 drama Kicks – directed the film, with lead roles going to Marlon Wayans (Scary Movie), Tyriq Withers (The Game), and Julia Fox (Uncut Gems).

The movie was originally set for a December 2024 release but was pushed due to the strike.
As is standard, all is kept secret on this production.
“I do feel like my next project is clear to me,” Peele told Conan O’Brien on the latter’s podcast in January, “and I’m psyched that I have another film that could be my favorite movie if I make it right.”
Peele’s three genre films — Get Out, Us and Nope — have collectively grossed $683 million at the worldwide box office.
His socially conscious horror movie Get Out was released in 2017, blasting out of a cannon at the Sundance Film Festival, and went on to win an original screenplay Oscar for Peele, as well as an overall four Oscar noms including Best Picture,...

Jordan Peele is undoubtedly one of the most talented and important filmmakers of today. Although he was initially known as a comedian because of his Key & Peele series, he has since evolved into a complex and versatile filmmaker who is able to blend horror with strong social commentary. Get Out, Us, and Nope are the movies he directed, but he also produced several other major hits and also worked on the short-lived revival of The Twilight Zone. Now, while we do know that Peele himself is working on a new movie, while we’re waiting for more updates on that movie, we have more information about his next project, a movie he is producing!
The movie we are talking about is going to be directed by Justin Tipping, who has some experience with movies and television, with his most important works being Kicks (2016), Flatbush Misdemeanors (2021), and Joe vs. Carole...

Hot on the heels of the final trailer for Jordan Peele's latest film, "Nope," comes the news that Peele's Monkeypaw Productions has won a bidding war for a new psychological horror movie pitch called "Goat" from Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie, the duo behind the "Limetown" TV series. Go watch any A24 horror film, and you're liable to see a goat somewhere; perhaps it will even be a talking goat, recruiting a young Puritan woman into a life of witchcraft by encouraging her to "live deliciously." However, in the case of this Monkeypaw project, "Goat" refers not to Black Philip or some such farm animal, but to the acronym used...

Exclusive: Following a competitive bidding war, Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions has landed the film pitch Goat, with Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie penning the script. The pitch will fall under Monkeypaw’s overall deal with Universal Pictures.
Though the title hints at something revolving around everyone’s favorite farm animal, it is actually in reference to the sports acronym “Greatest Of All Time,” aka Goat, which is thrown around when debating today and yesterday’s sports legends. For this film, the story centers on a promising young athlete who is invited to train with a team’s retiring star.
The pitch goes into Monkeypaw’s diverse slate of projects as the company continues to stay busy. Next up on features side is Peele’s film Nope, which marks his next directing gig and is already building buzz following the final trailer release today. That comes out July 22 with Universal.

The pitch goes into Monkeypaw’s diverse slate of projects as the company continues to stay busy. Next up on features side is Peele’s film Nope, which marks his next directing gig and is already building buzz following the final trailer release today. That comes out July 22 with Universal.

For Jessica Biel, nailing down the specific look of Candy Montgomery, a real-life 1980s Texas housewife that is not all she seems to be, “was my most important thing.”
She told IndieWire in a recent Zoom interview that her and creators Robin Veith and Nick Antosca went into production on the new Hulu limited series event “Candy” trying to make sure their titular character would not be perceived as a caricature, “but when we tried on the wigs, we thought, ‘Oh, you know what, this actually is going to work.’ And then we put the glasses on and we all went, ‘Oh my God, this is going to work!’”
Biel recalled that her daily transformation into Montgomery was “Wig, costume, and then I’d step on set, glasses, and that was the linchpin of the look. That was the last thing that always went on.” Though it was only a half hour endeavor,...

Jessica Biel has turned in powerhouse performances on The Sinner, Limetown, and 7th Heaven, but her next role might be her best yet.
Hulu on Wednesday unveiled the full-length trailer for its five-night event series, Candy, and it looks like another nuanced performance for the star.
"Candy Montgomery is a 1980 housewife and mother who did everything right—good husband, two kids, nice house, even the careful planning and execution of transgressions—but when the pressure of conformity builds within her, her actions scream for just a bit of freedom," the logline teases, adding the following:
With deadly results.
The trailer shows Biel as Candy and how her relationship with Betty Gore, played by the wonderful Melanie Lynskey, comes to a grinding halt.
Betty has a soft spot for Candy, with the two women forging a strong bond in such a short time.
However, things get complicated when Candy has an affair with Betty's husband,...

Reconstructing the work of a documentary filmmaker named Melody Pendras (Dina Shihabi), he is drawn into her investigation of a dangerous cult at the Visser apartment building.

Oscar winner Marlee Matlin is set to make her directorial debut in an episode of Fox’s new anthology drama series Accused, from Homeland EPs Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa, and David Shore.
Developed by Gordon, Accused, co-produced by Fox Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television, is based on the BBC’s BAFTA-winning crime anthology. It opens in a courtroom on the accused, with viewers knowing nothing about their crime or how they ended up on trial. Told from the defendant’s point of view through flashbacks, Accused depicts how an ordinary person gets caught up in an extraordinary situation, ultimately revealing how one wrong turn leads to another, until it’s too late to turn back.
Matlin will direct an episode which features a deaf woman who becomes a surrogate and commits a crime of advocacy and protection.

TV creators are constantly searching for inspiration for their next projects, and in the past, books, comics and movies provided the source material for many series. In the past few years, podcasts have become a fertile source of ideas for documentary series and dramatic shows as well as comedies and talkshows. The episodic nature of podcasts lends itself perfectly to TV, where six to 10 episodes lets the viewer really dive into complicated stories like “Dirty John” or “The Shrink Next Door.”
For faithful podcast listeners, it’s fun to see which actors were cast to bring the real people to life and which elements of the story are emphasized. If you started out by watching the TV series, you’ll get a deeper understanding of the story by going back to the podcast to listen to all the supporting details. Dare we say Jessica Biel looks pretty killer in costume as convicted murderer Candy Montgomery. Photographers captured the actress in a very '80s blue dress, oversized glasses and heels as she filmed the upcoming Hulu series Candy in Decatur, Ga. on Tuesday, Feb. 15. True crime fanatics cannot wait for Biel's portrayal of Montgomery, a housewife and devout Methodist who killed her best friend Betty Gore with an axe in June 1980. Biel has become a trusted storyteller in the thriller genre after starring in and executive producing USA's The Sinner, as well as Facebook Watch's Limetown. Not to mention, she's an executive producer on the popular Freeform drama Cruel...

Archive 81, the latest TV horror hit from Netflix, feels completely unique at first glance. Based on a successful podcast of the same name, Archive 81 brings a lot of compelling elements to the table. Not many other stories dare to try combining demons, cults, comets, corporate corruption, and the sublime joys of restoring old VHS tapes.
In-between finishing the series’ eighth and final episode and waiting for a season 2 announcement, you might find yourself wondering what other Archive 81-esque content there’s out there to watch. Thankfully, there are quite a few intriguing candidates to consider. Most of Archive 81’s thematic companions can be found in the film world. Movies like Hereditary, V/H/S, and The Ring all feature the demonic, horror, and found footage elements that made Archive 81 so watchable.

Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for the upcoming horror series “Archive 81,” which draws upon nostalgia for the videotape era of the 1990s to weave a chilling tale that plays out across dual timelines.
Loosely inspired by the podcast of the same name, “Archive 81” begins in present day with a character named Dan (Mamoudou Athie) being hired by a shadowy organization to restore video tapes that were damaged in a fire 25 years ago. As Dan restores the tapes in a remote location (“for his security” he’s assured), he witnesses the story of a woman named Melody (Dina Shihabi) who begins videotaping residents of an odd apartment building to create an oral history, only to discover something incredibly strange about the building and its inhabitants.

Jessica Biel is going to take a whack at playing Candy Montgomery. E! News has learned that the actress and producer will portray the infamous axe murderer in Hulu's anticipated limited series, Candy. Biel is picking up the axe from Elisabeth Moss, who was originally tapped to play the titular role. However, according to Deadline, Moss had to depart the project due to a scheduling conflict. This is certainly good news for fans of Biel, who haven't seen her in front of the camera since her Facebook Watch series Limetown in 2019. And we have a feeling Biel will slay in this role, both figuratively and literally. For those unfamiliar with Candy's legacy, the...

When Olivia Holt rose to prominence on Disney Xd’s “Kickin’ It” in 2011, she was barely 14 years old — the same age as Jessica Biel when she began working on the family drama “7th Heaven,” 15 years earlier.
Now, the two women are teaming up for “Cruel Summer,” Freeform’s psychological thriller in which Holt stars as Kate Wallis, a high schooler who goes missing. Her classmate, Jeanette Turner (Chiara Aurelia), is accused of being connected to her disappearance, which becomes the central mystery of the series, told in a nonlinear fashion over the course of three years in the mid-’90s.

James Wan has found his latest horror project.
The “Saw” and “Insidious” creator is set to executive produce “Archive 81,” a supernatural horror series which has received an eight-episode order at Netflix.
Loosely inspired by the found footage horror podcast of the same name, “Archive 81” hails from writer, showrunner and executive producer Rebecca Sonnenshine. The series will star Mamoudou Athie, who is among the cast for “Jurassic World: Dominion,” and “Altered Carbon” alumna Dina Shihabi.
Here’s the logline for the new Netflix show: When archivist Dan Turner (Athie) takes a mysterious job restoring a collection of damaged videotapes from 1994, he finds himself reconstructing the work of documentary filmmaker Melody Pendras (Shihabi) and her investigation into a dangerous cult. As Dan is drawn into Melody’s story, he becomes convinced he can save her from the terrifying end she met 25 years ago.
“Stranger Things” and “Limetown” helmer Rebecca Thomas is on...

Exclusive: The first of many Power spinoffs is set to debut in September and a lot of the Courtney Kemp-created series is still under lock and key. However, today we have more of sense as to who the new players will be and who they will be working for.
Coming off a shapeshifted role on the first season of Netflix’s Locke & Key, Sherri Saum has joined Power Book II: Ghost for its first season, I’ve learned.
The Fosters alum will play Paula Matarazzo on the Mary J. Blige, Michael Rainey Jr, Naturi Naughton and Cliff ‘Method Man’ Smith-led Ghost.
Picking up not long after the fatal and incarcerating February 9 airing conclusion of the sixth and final season of Power, Saum’s Matarazzo is the top investigator and right-hand of Smith’s arrogant defense lawyer Davis MacLean. All of which means the hard-driven ex-law enforcement character could prove...
