Radhe Shyam is a visual pleasure but a cinematic headache
SAMTHEBESTEST11 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Radhe Shyam (2022) : Movie Review -

One might say, Prabhas coming after legendary Bahubali makes everything look tiny, but that's not the case here. It wasn't the same with "Saaho" (2019) either, but his profile was kept high there. His larger-than-life image saved Saaho somehow, but here, in Radhe Shyam, the genre spoils it for him. Radhe Shyam doesn't belong to any single genre, such as action, drama, romance, adventure, supernatural, fantasy, thriller, or any other genre, but it's an unintelligent mishmash of all of them. Was it written in Prabhas's destiny that he would have back-to-back underwhelming films after back-to-back visual phenomenons? I think the answer is yes, and maybe he'll go back to the club with "Adipurush" (well, let's wait for that). Prabhas, with that handsome face, deserves an out-and-out romantic film, but definitely not a messy one like Radhe Shyam. It could have been much better with gorgeous faces like Pooja Hegde and Darling Superstar.

Radhe Shyam tells a story of a highly respected and celebrated palmist, Vikramaditya (Prabhas), who has 100% faith in palmastry. His Guru Paramhans (Sathyaraj) tries to convince him to reduce that 1%, but Aditya refuses. Aditya, who believes that he doesn't have love and marriage in his destiny, falls in love with Prerna (Pooja Hegde) and then things start turning around their destinies beyond medical and palmistry science. The film has a predictable storyline and also feels unnecessarily loud and slow on many occasions. The screenplay looks interesting once in a while, but loses interest due to poor writing.

Although Prabhas and Pooja Hegde's chemistry is beautiful, performance-wise, I think they could have put up a better show. Prabhas loses his newly built temperament over his "improved Hindi dialect" in some loud one-liners, but the rest of the time, he's pretty decent. His swag, looks, and attitude are kept intact for his fans, even though it doesn't suit the character. However, you can forgive it for its cinematic liberty. I mean, who wouldn't fall in love with such a good-looking fella? Even if he's a palmist and a playboy. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that Pooja Hegde has got the most glamorous role of her career (so far) with Radhe Shyam. She's a doctor, which means she's educated and smart, but at the same time, she has some crazy ideas about love and flirtation. The first frame of her: those eyes, smooth hair covering half of her face, and then her glowing face. Her male fans can drop dead right there. It's the writing of her character and scenes that takes away a lot. Bhagyashree, Sachin Khedekar, Riddhi Kumar, Priyasarshi, Jagapathi Babu, and Jayaram have small but important roles, and they all pass their time comfortably.

The visual grandeur of Radhe Shyam is definitely made for the big-screen experience. Every single set and frame (with VFX) is visually splendid. From nature's beauty to greenery, clouds, palaces, hospitals, railway stations, and that high-octane ship sequence in the climax, everything is shot beautifully. Those melodious songs by Mithoon and Mnan Bhardwaj are just fabulous. 'Aashiqui Aa Gayi' stays with you, 'Udja Parindey' is vibrant, and 'Jaan Hai Meri' is eye-catching. While most of the dialogues fade away right after the moment, some of them are really good and can be memorised for a long time. "Jinke haath nahi hote unki kismat nahi hoti kya," That was brilliant!

Director Radha Krishna Kumar's love saga is unconvincing from the start because of his scattered storytelling. The first scene of Sathyaraj: As he explains the difference between science and astrology, you notice a loud background score. Was that mandatory? It was more of a messy mass than a classy, hard-hitting dialogue. He repeats the same mistakes again in this weakly written script, and the final outcome loses all the impact created by Prabhas and Pooja Hegde's intimate chemistry. As a whole, Radhe Shyam lacks too many things, but most importantly, it misfires with the main logic behind the story, and that hurts more than anything else. It's strictly watchable for die-hard fans of Prabhas and Pooja Hegde, while others can only enjoy the visuals and music.

Not Recommended 👎🏻 by Hit Ya Flop - Movie World
nitsvirusboyz11 March 2022
A huge disappointment. The film does not live up to the hype it created. The makers failed to deliver a compelling love story. The weak story, dragged screenplay, and unbearable dialogue delivery makes this movie a passable affair.

The movie is visually grand and it has been shot on a grand scale in different parts of Europe. Some positive points of the film are songs, background score, cinematography, and the VFX but that can not save this clueless script and flat narration.

Prabhas and Pooja Hegde shares decent chemistry and the lead pair have delivered an average performance. Kunaal Roy Kapur, Bhagyashree, and all the supporting casts have nothing to offer here, a bunch of talented actors are simply wasted. Except for Sathyaraj and Sachin Khedekar, all other actors are just there to fill the screen space and spoken merely two or three lines. Why did Jagapathi Babu, Murali Sharma, Priyadarshi even agree to do these roles?

Direction 2/5 Acting 2/5 Cinematography + VFX 3/5 Story 1.5/5 Screenplay 1.5/5.

Photoshopped Prabhas?
shwetank-547235 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Was prabhas made by CGI for most of the film? Almost fell from couch in the train coach scenes and when I saw the rooms, interiors made by arts department, literally, out of the world, coz nobody keeps that in the world. Disappointed with how prabhas was made to look.

This movie isn't for everyone.
lalithmailipilli12 March 2022
The movie isn't a regular Indian film. Its has a strong plot weakened by slow narration.

With Prabhas as hero, many would expect action sequences, stylish fights, a villian face-off plot and much more. But this is a completely different movie that has only drama which may end in disappointment for many viewers.

The Good 1. Plot 2. Visuals 3. Songs and BGM 4. Location

The Bad 1. Slow narration

Conclusion: Its a good movie but for a one time watch. Go to theatre only for visuals. If not for visuals, then its best to prefer OTT over theatre.

Crores of rupees given to a teenager wannabe director.
VamshiGK31 March 2022
What the hell did I just watch. I understood the value of money at every scene in this movie. It was suffocating, cringe and such a disappointing feeling throughout. I seriously don't understand who would dare to put so much money on such a low grade story/direction. I was desperately waiting to have one awesome experience while watching this entire film. I feel ashamed how desperate I was just because I am a Telugu film lover. The director- please don't make anymore movies. I have no doubt you can't make a good movie ever. The producer- I pity you and hope you gain good taste at least the next time. Actors- I feel sorry for you. Especially Pooja hegde while she was having a good run with good decent movies. I don't pity Prabhas as he must have worked and known the story before even it came on to the sets. Overall, save your time. Watch almost anything that you come across on ott and theatre's. I'm sure that will still be 1% better than this trash of a movie.

Justified as per Genre of the Film
nagarajugumpenapalli12 March 2022
First and Mostly films are made into different Genre as per the Concept/Script of the Director.

As per director point of view RADHESHYAM is completely out and out Romantic Genre Film which is made on a Concept of War Between LOVE &DESTINY Director Radhakrishna justifed it.

The movie will be completely Slow Paced as we have already seen some TFI films like Geetanjali, Em Maya Chesave etc., How can You guys expect Comedy track and Action Sequences in the Out and out Romantic film.

Coming to the Soul of the Film concept itself is the soul of the Film which we can witness it in the 2nd Half of the Film which is show when Prerana reads Aditya diary and the Sequence of the Pain which she feels and Aditya pain before Prerana Accident.

Most of the Lovers witnessed the Love between Prerana and Adity at the Pre Climax and Climax Sequences

Please Don't Spoil the Film

Don't Expect any Action and Comedy from the Film.

Absolutely a Trash, how come Prabhas and Pooja accepted such a corny script?
This movie was supposed to be released in 2004s, I mean how come the guy who directed this movie has the idea of releasing it at 2022? This kind of stereotype based movies always make people walk out of theater. No wonder Prabhas and Pooja justified their roles in this lousy script. And specially Prabhas must need to choose the script wisely.

Heart touching movie
amitrajput-1660911 March 2022
Best movie which I have seen in this 2-3 years after bahubali 2. Song are good and the story of the movie is unmatchable and too heart touching. Prabhash is my best actor and after bahubali it's become favourite actor for me and last scene of movie is too merorable. Thanks to the radhe shyam movie team to bring this lovely movie around us it must break all the records of the Indian cinema.

Decently Written, Extra ordinarily Filmed and fairly connected with audience.
harishmadireddi11 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
There is 100 percent science behind the divide talk of the movie. Having prabhas as lead actor, there are no elevation shots, no fights, no set songs and mainly there is no high points a 'fan' is bound to anticipate doesnt get any of these but a regular movie goer would love the movie for the same reason and not over doing the things the hero does just because he is a hero where the hero does whatever fits for the story. Beautifully presented by the director his writing in few scenes is top notch. Few more intimate love moments between the lead actors would help us connect to their emotion more. The dailogues at the crutial scenes are very well written which makes us get the connection between the desriny and love. Please watch this movie without heavy expectations. Consider that Your going to watch a love story and please dont bother the buzz. You will love the film.

A cringe-y tale about flirtation-ship that will make you face palm every few minutes!
tkmce200817 April 2022
Pan-India movies are all the craze right now. We have had four already this year. The first one had Prabhas of Bahubali fame (the film that started it all). And I watched this film back to back with Mohanlal's Araattu; so you can imagine how excruciating/mentally draining it must have been.

Radhe Shyam is the story of one Aditya Vikram, an acclaimed palmologist/palmist. He reads the palms of famous people including Indira Gandhi (no idea why this movie was set in the late 70s). Aditya doesn't believe in love/relationships; he only believes in "Flirtationship". But (for obvious reasons) he falls in love with a girl, Prerna, a doctor. This also paves the way for arguments on science & palmistry. The rest of the story is more or less anyone's guess (multiplied by 100x cringe & continuous face palms).

Radhe Shyam is cringe from the word go. The character introductions are one of the worst till date. Microsoft Windows wallpapers feature heavily during most songs and during train sequences. Pooja Hegde's Prerna has a death wish as she requests random (some drunk) strangers to dangle her from the door of a running train. Prabhas is ridiculous & invincible as Vikram Aditya. A bus literally rams into him and he survives with just a small scratch on his head that happens to bleed profusely.

And don't get me started on the "epic" ship sequence at the end. It serves no purpose whatsoever! Just a way of showing that - we are spending a lot of money on this film (by shooting it in multiple languages & on the ship), so please go watch it. It also gives Jayaram additional screentime in a movie wherein he is only known as Ship Captain. Also, Indian Airlines is owned by the Emirates in this parallel universe. If Instagram permitted I would have gone on but sadly there is a word limit.

Watch it if you love cringe else just skip it.

An extremely bad movie
dev_alok13 March 2022
Watched this movie in my local theater. We were the only one in theater and that should have given me a clue. This movie is extremely bad and should be avoided. Firstly it tries to prove that palmistry is a real science and it tries to prove that in most illogical ways. Movie has many characters that have no business being there and are mostly there to fill time. Prabhas and Pooja were not convincing in the lead roles they were playing. Overall, me and my family were waiting for movie to end so we could go home.

Avoid it at all costs.

Radheshyam by radha krishna Kumar
anudeepnarayan12 March 2022
UV creations tried their best to keep best out put infront of audience..and they succeeded.. then music 🎶 is not up to mark... Thaman given great support with his BGM score... VFX team given their best... When comes to story radha krishna Kumar done his best from his side but this is not to the mark of prabhas... And chemistry between Pooja and prabhas is not as expected some scenes feels like forced.. and comdey us soul less.. lot of time taken to elevate side charecters.. ship sequence is good.. and first half is very slow.. and second created little intrest on movie... Finally good attempt by radha krishna Kumar.. and prabhas need to work more on strory selection.. this is my opinion..

Average story, decent production value...
atehababy13 March 2022
Story is oxymoron as hero believes in something& emphasizes on the same, --till the end, but then he decides to think otherwise... not sure , why this story was even considered , as its not very smart plot?? But , if story can be discounted...the rest of the elements - setting, characterization, cinematography and theme looks real good....not a boring movie, neither very convincing...songs are soothing though..

The Einstein of Pharmacy who believes in Flirtationship
jetkot26 April 2022
I was surprised that they spent crores to make this crappy film on a huge budget. But I will recommend you to watch this for a good headache in the stomach.

Prabhas (Bahubali fame) plays "The Einstein of Palmistry". His predictions never go wrong. He even reads the palm of Indira Gandhi and tells her that she is going to declare an emergency.

Sadly he does not have the love line in his palm so he becomes a flamboyant playboy and sleeps around with women. He says lines like "I am not the relationship type guy, I am the flirtationship type guy." He maintains a diary. But he does not write it in the past tense like us mere mortals. He writes about what is going to happen in his life today, in future tense. So if you read his diary you will come to know about the future.

Pooja Hegde has an equally crazy character. She travels frequently by train and when she sees random guys looking at her, she tells them "Can you handle my weight?" and then ties her dupatta around her waist and swings out from the train. The poor guy has to hold on to the other end of the dupatta to save her from dying. Then when she does not die she screams in orgasm and asks them for Coffee.

Our Einstein predicts that Pooja Hegde has a long life but the Doctor says she has a brain tumor and cannot be cured. So then it becomes a battle between Medical science and Palmistry and you may have guessed who wins. Science wins because they luckily suddenly find a cure for her disease. Coincidence ???

What does Pooja Hegde do after Prabhas says that he does not have the love line so he cannot love her and only flirtationship can exist ? She tries to commit suicide by running into a speeding car. Behen tereko itna mushkil se brain tumor se bachaya usne aur tu hai ki gadi ke neeche aake marna chahti hai, Well, In the end all is well because Guruji had told him that Palmistry is only 99% accurate and there is 1% chance that he will fall in love. So our hero marries the heroine.in the end.

Visual effects are great. The locations in the background are stunning The performances by Prabhas and Pooja Hegde are decent.

I personally do not believe that someone can read my palm and predict my future and hence I found the plot of this movie obnoxious. Although the fantasy genre demands you to suspend your logical brain and believe in the story.

Technically Brilliant Emotionally Blank
magadalwarmayur11 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
2.0 , ad astra , sahoo, tenet, Interstellar these are one of the best technically Brilliant film which lacks emotional touch to the film which i call a soul of the Film. Radhe Shyam lacks this human element to the film. I rather watch a film with decent VFX but good story and has a "soul"

Another significant reason that goes against the movie is the weak story. There is hardly anything. Fate could have been used more judiciously in the narrative. What we get is too simplistic.

Overall, Radhe Shyam is a love story that sticks to the genre. But, it fails in generating the magic via the lead pair chemistry, and that's where the whole thing falls apart. It eventually settles as a glossy affair with no soul. The only reason to watch the movie is first and foremost the visuals, and later followed by Prabhas.

ROD-a-shyam
best-review11 March 2022
The plot of the film falls into the average category, lacking a strong impact.

Unfortunately, the screenplay is poorly executed, accompanied by weak dialogues that fail to make a significant impact.

The narration is disappointingly flat, lacking the necessary depth and engagement.

Prabhas is too big star for this role, and gives his best in the part, showcasing his dedication and talent.

However, it would have been preferable to cast someone who possesses the ability to deliver a more compelling performance for the female lead. Pooja Hegde's portrayal comes across as lifeless and lacking in energy.

Visually, the film boasts rich and visually stunning scenes, although they appear somewhat artificial.

The music fails to make a lasting impression and lacks the ability to enhance the overall experience.

The film is a complete disappointment.
