- Frida, Hilda and David both get killed by rats, though it is revealed to be a dream.

- The antagonists of the episode are ghostly creatures who look like teenage girls but can disappear in a puff of smoke and enjoy giving people nightmares. One of these creatures enters a kid's bedroom as a shadowy form to scare him. Several nightmare scenes are seen where the protagonists confront ghosts and a variety of frightening scenarios. No character is physically hurt, although they are shown to be distressed by the bad dreams.
- The protagonists meet the Rat King, a big rolling mass of rats who talk by whispering all at the same time.
- This is one of the two episodes of Season One (the other being Chapter Eight) where the supernatural creatures faced by the protagonists are portrayed as creepy and malevolent rather than cute, funny or weird. The nightmare scenes, the Marra entering David's house at night and the Rat King, in particular, may unsettle younger kids.
