That was a powerful hour of drama.

That was one powerful drama, an hour of TV drama, which felt uncomfortably true to life. Fair play to The BBC and writers for giving us a story on drugs, spice and fentanyl in particular, the scourge of many a community.

The episode focused almost entirely on the gritty drama, with very little time given to The Lyell Centre regulars, possible last week's format will be repeated, with the concluding episode allowing more time for them.

I thought the guest performers were terrific, Colin Salmon in particular, a tremendous actor, with as much screen as physical presence, he was superb, and I'm sure will have a large part tomorrow. Great to see Samantha Womack, toying with Jack, and of course Radoslaw Kaim, a very good actor indeed who seems to pop up in favourite shows, did a great job of making the audience despise Rudi.

Timothy Prager's script was excellent, very relevant, the opening scenes were totally captivating, and harrowing. Only one criticism, Thomas's rant about legalising marijuana, time and place BBC.

Can't wait for the next episode. 9/10

Uncomfortable Truth

As is written above this is one of the most powerful dramas I have seen. I would normally have not watched it after reading the synopsis but was rewarded with one of the best episodes ever of this series.

Award Winning stuff here!

I just watched season 22 episode 3 & 4...the main guest actor is superb on everyway...the subject matter can be disturbing at times however it deals with the reality of the curruption of drugs sold on the street and how young people get pulled in ..if you like crime series that are really good ..don't miss this one...it stays with you after it's over..the integrity of this man is phenomenal..I found his character deeply inspiring!

The struggle to watch this left me speechless

The primary actors carried this episode through the hour of what can only best be described as torture. With no major plotline or points of serious interest, the only mystery (and minor at that) of this episode was solved within the first 10 minutes, leaving another 40 for us to be bored senseless with aimless drivel. The topic, despite being one that desperately needs an effective and hard-hitting dramatisation, was not done justice due to an overall aimless script in which I failed to find much good drama or effective storytelling.

The guest actors for this episode, despite some of them being successful and effective actors in their own right, were severely let down by the lack of good writing structure, poor choice of dialogue and complete ignorance of real social situations. To read that Timothy Prager, the apparent author of this episode, is a semi-successful screenwriter was surprising to say the least as what was put on screen felt more like the writing of a struggling high school drama student.

The mere 2 star rating for this episode was kind at best and only given due to its tackling of the content and the intention it had in exposing the truth behind drug addiction in the UK.

I would suggest skipping this story which (regretfully) carries on for another episode - it doesn't add much to the overall storyline other than incorporating things we've already seen in previous episodes. Do yourself a favour.
