Cindy Brady was supposed to have loved Lidsville (1971). Actress Susan Olsen later recalled, "I was mortified that people might think I really liked it in real life. I found it quite fitting that Cindy would like it, and that added to my belief that Cindy was an idiot."
The Brady Kids had visited the neighboring set of H.R. Pufnstuf (1969), but this was their first time working one-on-one with Sid & Marty Krofft's characters. They went on to appear in other Krofft productions, including The World of Sid & Marty Krofft at the Hollywood Bowl (1973) and The Brady Bunch Variety Hour (1976).
Charles Nelson Reilly portrayed Horatio J. Hoodoo in Lidsville (1971), but he had such a miserable experience with the makeup and wool wardrobe that he never donned the costume again. This was the first time that Paul Gale played the role, and he went on to reprise it in other Krofft productions, such as The World of Sid & Marty Krofft at the Hollywood Bowl (1973) and The Bay City Rollers Show (1978).
