A movie about enabling a bully

There is nothing acceptable about the way the father acts in this film and the enabling of it by everyone around him - plain disgusting

This is a really irritating and tedious film of someone who drops their faith during hardship and thinks God is a puppet they can manipulate - and people you love are too.

Not Bad

Tender tearjerker with Christian overtones. Similar to "The Notebook", as a woman whose husband is dying after a car crash is intermixed with the scenes from the beginning of her romance. Nothing extraordinary, but it was decently played.

Good story

Well done! In all kindness the role of young Jan was so lethargic and melancholy - she showed no emotion and barely smiled. I don't see what attracted Steve to her (besides her hair??).

Ok there something good in movies. It's about the Love story among them. It's incredible love!!! I didn't believe that there's a loving like this in real life! Anyway the problem is the scenes move slowly. It's a little boring

Bad story and worst acting skill

Couldn't believe it got 7.1 in rating. The story is almost identical with Notebook except it's v. blunt. The acting skill of the casts is the worst in century , i can even feel the awkwardness and stiffness of the actors, of course, Bonnie Burroughs is an exception.

The story is so cliche and unoriginal. The dialogue is boring slow and seem to have been scripted by a 4 year old.. The ending is also unbelievably bad. At the end the old man is about to die, but then has one more breath. You would think oh it is a miracle he will survive! No he won't. The nurse tells them it is normal when someone is about to die.. Only good thing about this movie is the somewhat cute girl with way too much make-up. Wow, such a waste of time..

Sweet Movie

If you want to see a Christian love story this is the one to watch. Without giving away any details , all I can say is this movie had me in tears. It makes you realize, as a Christian, sometimes things are out of our control but we still need to rely on God to get us through.

Terrible. B movie with horrible script and acting

The script is terrible and low budget. The 2 diff time lines look like all of the movie was spent on the old part but the new older couple look like shot on low budget with terrible acting. The message is trite and not worth watching. B movie 1 star for cute younger actors.

Sad, but good "Hallmark" movie

Based on a true story. Low bugdet? Um, it's a made-for-TV movie and two-thirds of it is set in the 60s. Bullying dad? Possibly, but real life for many who grew up in the 60s had this type of family dynamic. Christian undertones? Well, they visit with a military chaplin a few times - if you believe we should all coexist & celebrate each other's differences, then it shouldn't be a problem. Inconsistencies? Yes, some, but when have you seen a TV movie without any - never. Overall: good, heartfelt, love always prevails movie

Man's lungs are not working but he has no respirator

Very bad movie and only waste of time. The man is paralysed after the accident and neither his heart nor his lungs are working on their own, but he is lying on a regular hospital bed (without any respirator and machines pumping the air to his lungs), but then with some strange metal ring around his head. This is one of those movies, you could watch on "Church TV" channel.

The acting is terrible

The acting is the worst I have ever seen and the dialogue is so flat. I would have given only 1 star. I gave 2 because it shows the struggle of Faith. However as a Christian I found it quite insulting to my Faith.

Disappointed

I have never watched a movie that hinted at a promise of a happy ending over and over again, only to leave the viewer anxiously anticipating a miracle, but sadly left completely depressed and disappointed. I appreciate that it is a true story but most people watch faith based films to regain a sense of hope and God's ability to perform miracles in our modern world. This ruined my afternoon. The ending, which makes it seem as tho the highly anticipated miracle is finally about to happen, was designed to fill you with hope and then drop you in a ditch. Maybe this movie would be better suited as a resource available for checkout at a hospital for families dealing with a terminal diagnosis of their loved ones.

For all you haters out there who hate it because of the ending or even the plot, it's based on a true story. The acting was great, the story line was good and directing was very well done. Yes, it's sad because what happened was sad. But overall, they had a happy life together and kept their valuesm

If you like stories based on true ones, this is a great one to watch. At times it seemed to move a little slow but I think it was necessary.

It reminded me some of The Notebook because it switched back and forth from the present to their early days when they met and were dating.

I know this is based on a true story, but it is so unbelievable. I come from a religious background & am happy with that! I think this movie could have touched people's hearts if it took a more real approach. These syrupy movies leave me cold! There's nothing real I can hold onto.

Not worth watching

An elderly man gets serious injured in a car crash. His family pray for his recovery. There are flashbacks to his courtship. The girl has a father who doesn't want her to be with a military man and is super nasty to the man. After reaching the end the movie felt like a waste of time. They prayed for a miracle but he died anyway. And the Father in law was too opposing without good enough a reason. The young couple is quite cute. Makes Nicholas Sparks seem great by comparison.

Fabulous

This is one of the very best Christian movies I've seen. I was raised Catholic and have a strong faith. In the same respect, I don't need religion consistently thrown in my face. I think that's what impressed me so much. It didn't push actual religion. It pushed faith. I thought the acting was excellent. Corbin Bernson never disappoints. And I loved his character!! I could easily see a 1960's dad, especially military being exactly as he was!! And how nice to see Dee Wallace as Mom again. I thought Caylee and Travis did outstanding jobs!!

A struggle to watch at times

The story line was okay, but continued to misdirect the audience with false promises of the story direction. The dialogue was stilted and on-the-nose. There are no surprises.

The mom's face healed so quickly that it made me smile - and not in a good way. In what, six days, she goes from serious cuts to light pink spots on her face? And no one researched how much pain you'd be in if your shoulder is out of joint, and she stopped wearing her sling after the first day.

The editing was poor. Someone decided we could never tell the difference between the past and the hospital, so they consistently showed the exterior of the hospital EVERY TIME they came back to present time. Give us as the audience some credit. We really could figure it out if you cut straight to action, instead of a bland exterior of a hospital.

Jenn Gotzen Chandler may have her best work in this film. She had more depth to her character than I've seen in some of her other roles.

So this is more of a c movie and that doesn't stand for Christian. It's got some bad acting and the main blonde girl, well let's just say putting a mannequin in her place with voice over would have been a better choice. It had its moments. But not much after.
