Well
ayal6276 April 2020
It was ok. Gave 5 stars because of the message. I do believe God is a God of second chances. They messed up but they chose to do the right thing. Actors not showing a lot of emotions, they should've put more in it.

Good message of Faith
silva_mario16 July 2022
The message was good but the acting was just sub par. At the end the child was like 5 months old and they were trying to pass her off as a newborn. That was very funny. If you don't have anything else to do give it a watch. It's a good message about God and faith.

Worse than a LifeTime movie
ikkin-587136 April 2020
This movie was not good. Typical plot. Bad actors, no character development. Could have been okay with some decent actors. I had time to waste so I watched it.

Wooden acting and a terrible script
liamkavanagh-7819418 October 2020
I expected this to be a movie based around a child who lived a sheltered life and then learnt how the real world worked. Sadly the movie is very religiously rooted and doesn't stray far from the spiritual path. The movie fails to provide a sense of timeframe and a year passes by without you even realising it's not just a week later. Although the whole script is unbelievable and the acting is wooden, I held on to the end and was rewarded. They give a 'where they're now' update at the end which had me in stitches.

A good College boy Fighting Temptation
KATO-SUBZERO10 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
9 April 2020: Not a bad film. Acting is fair, but I really liked the message from the African actor, Benjamin Onyango whom I saw in the film "God's Not Dead". He and his wife instill good family values in their children to follow God's {Adonai, Elohim} way, but that is very hard to do for a young man in college surrounded by an atheist professor, actor, Greg Williams and in a world of young boys in college and the temptation of a sweet young pretty Latina nicely played by Hispanic actress, Natalie Dominguez in the role of Marcella. I Love the fact of the Interracial Love story between them because God does Not see skin color, but sadly too many people who only see skin color and prejudge other races. Love comes in all races and skin tone and sadly so does hate. Diallo in the role of "CJ" does a fairly good acting job as a young do right nerd who always wants to do what is right and Biblical, but his roommate and buddies make it hard for him with drinking and partying. I like that he is a young Black man who does the right thing by his pregnant girlfriend. Good acting by Ed Moreno as "Hector". I know in the world that we live in, it's girl's or woman's right to have an abortion, but my personal feelings are abortions should Never be done unless a woman is raped because she did Not ask for that to happen to her. Overall, it is worth the Matinee price of admission.

Horrible actors ruin a good chance to tell story!
billiegoat-7610613 July 2021
The story was an important and good story, but it was ruined because of inexperienced, unmotivated, and otherwise disconnected acting. These folks giving this movie a 10 are just delusional. Could have been as good as Courageous and Facing the Giants.

Even an atheist can like this film
vincentlynch-moonoi29 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The audience that is most going to like this film are the very christian religious folks. It hits all the values they love -- family values, sin, forgiveness, and second chances. So how come this atheist liked this film? Well, if you get past the soft-core preaching (and there is some), and focus on the story of individuals, then there's a good story line here. After all, pretty much anyone can get reckless during college and make some bad choices. The question is, of course, how do they come out of it.

VERY christian young man goes to college, meets a girl, she gets pregnant, and hence the consequences.

The acting here is very mixed. Diallo Thompson, who plays the young man, is really good; I was impressed. The actor who plays the young man's father (and minister) -- Benjamin Onyango -- no thanks; not impressed with the acting, and not impressed with who they chose to play the father...doesn't work. The young lady who gets pregnant is Natalia Dominguez, and she seems like a fairly decent actress. As was the woman who played her mother. Ed Gonzalez Moreno, who plays the hunky Latino brother shows some promise. As does a supporting actor -- Wynton Odd. Desalene Jones, who plays the boy's mother...not impressed. Gregory Williams, who plays a professor...difficult to tell; it's an unlikable character.

All through the move I was able to set aside the christian message and focus on what was happening to the main characters. As a result, I enjoyed the film. I could easily imagine real people experiencing and reacting as these characters did. And that brings up one thing I don't understand. At the end of the film they make it appear that this was a true story. I'm not sure that it was, or wasn't.

Bottom line for me: I'm glad I watched this film.

Loved this movie. Not at all predictable and great acting by the lead characters. Realistic storyline that isn't often seen in today's movies. I'd love to see more from this writer/director and this cast. Excellent job!

Just an excellent movie! Straight to the point!
kivonscottglows16 April 2023
I would say this is my tenth time watching the movie from the time it was released to Netflix and other streaming platforms. I just recently watched it on Easter Sunday when I was coming home from church and nothing wrong watching it again because it's a Faith and Spirituality movie ; 90% of it actually. I actually do know the top lead actor in real life too. When I was researching the movie online and see all the recognition and accolades that the movie received, I was like man they did such an amazing job that the Director, was really happy to have accomplished this from all the cast members, crew, etc.
