"TDF Really Works" is an American live action short film from 2011, so this one is moving closer to its 10th anniversary and it was written and directed by Ari Aster who enjoyed his big breakthrough not too long ago with the Toni Collette movie Hereditary. And I know people loved that one a lot, more than almost all horror films in recent years with Collette getting a great deal of awards recognition too. But now as for this one here, it shows that no matter how great your career may turn out to be, the way you started is always a completely different story. This ons is so bad honestly. But at least filmmakers don't have to worry about the stuff from their early career when wondering if they can ever make it because if Aster can despite how he started here, then everybody has a chance. By the way, he also acts in here. We have two guys in this one joking around until one takes it a bit too far and apparently gets criticized by the other, but it is all fairly harmless because immediately afterwards the film turns into a fake commercial for well the thingey of which you can read the letters on the photo for this film here on imdb. There is graphic animated explanation and elaboration on how it exactly worked, stuff you don't really want to see and I am already talking about how the ring is put on, not just when things turn bloody. It is a mess though, this explanation and the film itself. In the end, it turns back in some sort of frame work to the two buddies and we see one try out this project, also pay attention to the final picture when we see the offer and also what you may get as a gift in addition. Yep females get their fair share too. Anyway, knock knock jokes are really almost always unfunny unless Tom Hanks delivers them, but in this one here they certainly are not a success. Huge thumbs-down for this stinker of a movie. Glad it did not even ran for three minutes. Writing, camera work, acting and most of all comedy all sub-par, frequently even on failure territory. Highly not recommended.
