It's quite funny... If you get Brazilian culture and speak Portuguese.

I'm a bit of a movie snob and came across this film on a plane ride and decided to give it 2 minutes and ended up watching the whole thing. Is quite funny, but you have to be adjusted to Brazilian culture and preferably speak Portuguese to thoroughly enjoy it. The dialogs feel a bit improv and are quite fast. The role played by the gay friend is where the movie shines. Give it a go!

A whole lot of the same. Mildly funny movie

Warning: Spoilers
This is another politically correct movie. The woman, who is "trapped" in a marriage, the betraying husband, husbands are boring and uncaring to wives. Her best friend is gay, the final message is that women can live alone. It's a "slaying" movie. Very weak in terms of plot, the only significant moments belong to the performance of Paulo Gustavo, a talented comedian. Who is gay, in real life and in the movies. A whole lot of the same, the movie has its funny moments, but the idea behind the story is way too old-fashioned, as the politically correct is doomed. Mild entertainment and nothing else.

Worth your time!

As a Brazilian myself, I usually don't enjoy many movies from my country nowadays - a shame, really. This one, though, was the sweetest surprise, with beyond amazing chemistry between the leads and solid dialogue, very entertaining! Still, the story might sound too common or silly - what sells it is the golden acting and the way it's edited. It's great seeing serious themes explored in a light hearted way, such as divorce and gay dating, or even death, since nowadays everything seems to be taken too seriously sometimes. This movie doesn't take it this route, but take comedy on the other direction - very artistically. Well done! I hope everyone gets a chance to watch this and laugh it off every ten minutes like I did, you won't regret it.

Don't waste your time.

"Minha vida em marte" ( dec,2018 ) is a sequel inspired by the movie "Os homens são de marte e é pra lá que eu vou" in which the main character, Fernanda (Mônica Marteli), lives a 40-years-old woman that found the love of her life and nowadays lives a crisis in her marriage. During the film, her gay best friend Anibal (Paulo Gustavo) helps her to overcome the divorce and teaches her in loving herself. All these things happen in New York. It is very sad, isn't it? haha Paulo Gustavo is a talented comedian and his moments in the movie are very funny. I like his job, but it was not enough to save the script.

The feature is directed by Suzana Garcia, Monica Marteli's sister, a beginner in movies direction, maybe this explains something. However, the movie's tickets sold until March 2019 and it exceeded the 5 million mark in Brazil. It's a good number. Anyway, I think that this movie was not for me, and people of the same age as mine, because the plot is very boring and cliché. Nevertheless perhaps, there are a lot of people that live the same dilemma and identify with the movie. I didn't like the plot and for this it is not recommended.
