Brutal abusive and ultimately boring
PugsAreUglyButPretty24 March 2019
I saw this at Karlovy Vary, for its premiere, and was hugely disappointed. The intensity on the screen was only there through the constant feeling of when will this end? It was just plain boring, and the level of brutality to his wife was unnecessary.

An intimate horror of the breakdown of the marital relationship and of the human body
alesisko23 May 2021
In the film, we look into the apartment of a married couple for a few months. The image and camera ingeniously depict the pursuit of perfection, the complete control of every aspect of life. From trying to conceive a child, through maintaining weight, to endless training, thanks to which the cyclist's husband would like to get on the Tour de France. The couple is going through a crisis because everyone takes care of their own goals. An intimate and brutal view of a two-career relationship. Music and footage make you feel like you're watching a horror movie. And in the psychological sense, you also watch.

Bloated, barbaric Warning: Spoilers
Described as a sort of horror, yes it's horrific in a barbaric sense. It's scenes are too long, bloated, the story is predictable to the extent that's it's boring to watch and wait it take 2 hours to get there. The gratuitous rape scene is unneeded and unwanted. The ending is a damp squib.

Overall, the most disappointing world premiere I've been to, at an otherwise great film festival in Karlovy Vary.
