Maybe I am whack but I think this show is heartwarming and crudely enjoyable! I have been a fan of Kathryn Hahn awhile so I don't mind her character in this. Also I really like the soundtrack although I do understand the hate, I won't be one of them.

PROS:
-Short entertaining episodes with a good pacing.
-The actors fit right with their characters and they do a good job in the acting department, giving every character a unique personality.
-Good plots about self-discovery in a new environment. Mrs. Fletcher is trying to find out who she is when she's not just a mother and his son is trying to discover who he is when he's not the popular guy. There's a lot of sex discovery too. It's a very sexual show.
-Inclusive. They have transgender, lesbian, gay, bisexual, fat, black, white, straight, old and more representation and it doesn't feel forced or trying to make an statement about today's world.
CONS:
-It feels unfinished. Like, I know they want us to believe that is a limited miniseries but I don't felt like that was it. I feel like, yeah, they really close many plots of the season but I feel like they open many plots for a second season with that ending. It feels like they were cancelled and give it the excuse of a miniseries.
-Sometimes the sexual aspect is like too much that I just couldn't focus much on the plot.
-The son's a jerk. I didn't empathize so much with him so I didn't care about what happen to him. It feels like he didn't fulfill his character arc.

At only 30 minutes an episodes without advertising this is well worth the time. My only complaint is that it is too short.
Being a huge fan of Kathryn Hahn since Crossing Jordan in the early 2000's I will watch almost anything she is in. This is just one of those shows you will either love or hate, my partner is the opposite of me, she didn't like it.
This is timed well with the Me Too movement in full swing. I like that women are speaking out and putting males who don't treat women right in their place.
Men have gotten away with it for far too long.
I found this show very funny, also very sexy and sometimes sad and also it didn't try to be PC, but it is ultimately a really enjoyable show and well worth the 3.5 hours of watching if you are lucky enough to be able to binge watch it.
Bring on season 2, cant wait.

I loved Eve, and rooted for her, was on the edge of my seat wondering how she would finally break loose.
The parts focusing on Brendan...the kid is such a schmuck as to be unwatchable. Maybe this was by design, but I eventually just fast forwarded any segment where his face appeared.
Figures he would end up messing up the whole deal.....

Wow I was anxiously awaiting the next episodes and come to find out there are none! 7 is quite an odd number, but it was great and I want more! Love these characters and we are only just getting to know them!

I have never written a review here before but need to let people know not to miss out on this! It's funny and surprising and sexy but not sexist, and most of all, it's so important!
There are no other shows out there that give such a true and varied display of today's porn culture and how you are confronted with and affected by it, whether you be a 19 yo male or a 45 yo female. It's a super important topic that is not being talked about in series & movies, and I love how it is portrayed from all sides here!
Please keep this show running so the next generations don't keep thinking choking and degrading sexual partners is actually the only way for people to have sex!

First of all, Kathryn is so talented, her acting is so natural and sophisticated. Love her.
The story is interesting, even though I haven't read the novel yet, but so far I love this female self-exploration journey, trying to figure out what she truly feels and wants.

I laugh out loud every episode. I've seen the first six episodes and it's really not like any other show I've ever seen. Kathryn Hahn is fabulous. The awkwardness feels real. Hard to explain. But people are flawed and this shows them in a funny way.
Kathryn Hahn was great. Unfortunately, that was not enough to salvage an otherwise unremarkable production.
I would've given a 5 stars if her son
( Jackson w. ) Wasn't in the show. He ruined the show to me .

Great comedy and great characters that seem to fulfil their roles. The casting and the acting was good. The series lacked a little depth though. The pacing was really good, but the ending felt really open.
Based on the merits of its premiere episode, I'm cautiously predicting "Mrs. Fletcher" to be a potential winner.
The critics who've viewed the entire limited HBO series (based on the eponymous novel by Tom Perrotta) seem to be giving it restrained praise, so we'll see.
My brief take is thus:
It has a tight half-hour format, fresh premise (dual stories of a sexually curious, middle-aged empty-nester mom and boorish, un-woke college freshman son simultaneously "coming of age"), realistic dialogue and nicely drawn secondary characters.
And it showcases the ever-wonderful Kathryn Hahn. God, I love that woman! I could watch her do her taxes.
My only wish is that "Mrs. Fletcher" will live within the confines of its limited series format and won't overreach for more episodes- even if it rates well with viewers.
Because sometimes less is...perfect.
This series will hopefully ripen in its subsequent episodes and leave us with completed sense of satisfaction after its brief stint.
But this is Tom Perrotta territory, so we might end up with vague and uncertain conclusions...
But as long as this short-run series stays lean and avoids the bloat of tacked-on future seasons, I'm wagering it will be worth the watch.

Compared to fleabag or SMILF this show is so tepid. It tries to be fresh, sexy and funny and it is in fact stale, unsexy and as funny as a hangnail. After episode one it gets extremely predictable and repetitive.
OMG a 40 year old woman watching porn and rubbing one off!! Yawn -- who doesn't???

This show made me very uncomfortable since the beginning but i can understand it is made to show how pornography has altered our mentality. We should not be like that , we should not expect those things from our partners. Fantasies are ok but fulfilling it like that , noooo. Kathryn is a great actor and she deserves everything.
After episode 6 , i really liked the show as a whole it was all satisfying. After episode 7 man are you kidding leaving this show's ending like that , i m like wtf , did u guys just created this show to prove a point not for any kind of closure and proper ending. I m gonna get a lot of nightmares becoz of this show. If this show would have ended on great terms as episode 6 was i would have given a good rating but no not now . Sorry i believed in hbo. If you want a peaceful life dont watch it.

"HBO" has once again did it as they push the envelope with an outspoken and sexy series this one called "Mrs. Fletcher" is one to watch. As it's an empty nest like comedy in which self pleasure replaces the lonely feel of one single mother.
Eve Fletcher(in a good turn from Kathryn Hahn) is a woman who by day takes care of the elderly then by night and other times at home her teen and pretty boy son Brendan(Jackson White) has ruled the kingdom only once he goes away to become a big man on campus Mom is faced with plenty of worry and emptiness. As only some drinks with girlfriends can ease the pain.
However after a search engine sheds new light for Eve her focus is taking care of and loving her own self for the first time in many years! Call it internet porn or whatever this makes this single divorced mom happy she's a okay! And many scenes push the limit even for "HBO" as her daydreams of sex and moments masturbating with cookies are blunt and open! Plus the nipple and bush scenes of her are revealing and expressive.
Some wild card moments and subplots are the life of Brendan while away at college as he sees an open whole new world with different views and attitudes which challenge his mind and life. Also to help Eve get thru life she joins a writing class taught by a transgender instructor, and it's in the class that Eve meets a 19 year old named Julian(Owen Teague) who has a crush on her!
Really in this series you see the emotions of a middle aged woman who at her midlife starts to spice things up and have fun for herself by exploring new methods of pleasure and good physical feel thru isolation as she pushes herself for new liberation and freedom for herself. This series may not be everyone's cup of tea, still give it a watch for it's brash laughs and open feel of pleasure and intimate freedom which rescues a lonely middle age woman at mid life.

Hoping it's picked up for 2nd season, will definitely watch! Kathryn Hahn is perfect as Mrs. Fletcher. Adore the cast, especially Owen Teague, Katie Kershaw and Jen Richards. Wish there had been more episodes.

First of all, I need to clarify that I have no bad sentiments for the show and the last thing I want is to say, that this show is obsolete. It has a valid point. Stay at home moms and especially only parenting ones do have a crazy shift in life, once the bird leaves the nest.
But does it have to be this shallow and superficial? I don't think so, but the son and his friends are annoyingly misogynistic, the girls do everything for the hot high school jocks. It is a network show for women to feel more young than they are. And this is absolutely fine and should be put in video. "Mrs. Fletcher" tries to do it with no guts. It puts on as many stereotypes as they can find and sure, everybody will change and evolve to a better human being in the end of this series. But for me, this is just a sign of lazy scripts.

I don't generally think of Kathryn Hahn as a leading lady, but she acquits herself nicely here, and this show is entertaining (at least it has been so far, two episodes in). what does figure into the plotline here, but let's be honest, if that bothers you, you won't be watching this or reading reviews of it, either. I think the limited series arc will serve it well.

Forget the scenes with the stupid son, but enjoy the fantastic scenes with the mom. Hahn is amazing and it's really nice to see a modern series liberated from the PC morality pies that usually are shoved down our throats.
