BEAUTIFUL.
MandalBros-523 August 2021
I don't watch Malayalam films enough as then have to concentrate on the subtitle as well as on the visuals at the same time. But, when I watch, it took me to the beautiful world of Kerala. Njan Prakashan is not an exception in this case.

I never thought I would see Fahadh's acting with a Bengali song in the background, as a Bengali this was so satisfying for me. Every time Fahadh appeared on screen l laughed out loud. Not just Fahadh but the entire cast will leave you with smile. It's such a beautiful film. The 1st half is too much entertaining and the 2nd half is full of life and emotion. If you want to witness a beautiful experience watch Njan Prakashan.

Available On Netflix.

This man never fails to suprise me, a bunch of versatile actors and a minimal storyline makes the movie a feel good one

Another Unemployed Youth.
karna200700721 December 2018
Yes, This is a story of another unemployed youth (Fahad) that we've seen in Sathyan Anthikad movies, But when time changes unemployment doesn't, it's still there. And that's where the movies kick starts. Not much determined but to live life like a parasite is the new policy of youth. In between an unexpected guest from his past arrives at the doorstep, from there the story begins. . It's a character that we've seen but we never get bored because of Fahads own natural acting + Comedy, that script delivers (NOT made Comedy). . Afterwards, there's a shift towards the end of the story(lessons and learning) but that's how life is with turns and twists that can make everyman to realise and change his own attitude to life. . Sreenivasan as a script writer still have that potential to contribute. (Thirakdhayunde Thirakdha :)

Modern Classic by Sathyan - Sreenivasan combo!
jerrymathew-4553622 December 2018
Njaan Prakashan is this years' best Malayalam movie followed by Joseph. The Sathyan - Sreenivas combo is a great one indeed as we have seen time and again. Certainly, Sathyan's best movie since Rasatantram. Fahad is absolutely Hilarious as Prakashan and the Sathyan-Fahad jodi is following the footsteps of Sathyan-Mohanlal! The rest of the cast were good with their respective roles who made a simple story such an effective one, thanks to an excellent script. Hats off to all involved, the entire theater was wholly enjoying the movie, clapping and laughing throughout. Malayalam film industry needs more such films.

A fun ride.
amitrj-9606015 January 2019
Fahad as usual try to entertain you with a new subject. It will make you laugh in the first half even though the story lags a bit.But in the second half the movie takes a twist and starts to tell a new story. After watching the movie I felt the story was incomplete somewhere.Everything happens so quick in second half that you miss so many things.I felt the movie was a fun ride with a bit of emotion. But the emotion will not touch your heart in way that had to be.They could have told more.

A family entertainer with elements of nostalgia from the fabulous writer + director combo
surajpnair1 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Njan Prakashan (from now on NP) starts with protagonist discovering a new country on the globe and that country to no one surprise, it is 'Poland' - the great Poland debate from their epic film 'Sandesham' and that's how we get into the film. There are many other elements added that goes well with the film - usage of 'Oh My God' (a tribute to legendary Thilakkan Sir from the film Nadodikattu) and then the Vaishaka Sandhye song while the couple have tea from a tea joint. Fortunately these elements does not look forced and they gel well with the film, and they just bring in sweet memories of some great work contributed by the duo towards Malayalam Cinema. NP has a premise that mirrors the current scenario every other Malayali can relate to - unemployment, labors from outside developing Kerala, attitude of a Keralite when low profile job is offered, convenient escaping from situations that goes beyond manageable, breach of trust, jealousy, manipulative and many more. The first half delves with the character Prakashan played by Fahadh, it details out how grey, opportunist and manipulative is this character. The instant feeling that creeps in, how can this character be so indifferent towards his family's tiring economic situation and predictably I was waiting for a transformation in this character and that's the core concept of this film. The issue for me with this film widen in the second half, when the transformation of this character takes a very convenient route making it hard for me to accept the character's current state of mind and down the line I get the feeling - 'Is he still faking it?' Nevertheless, the storytelling is very casual, witty and very grounded. This old treatment from the duo (writer director) makes it very easy for the audience to relate to the characters, their surroundings, their hardships immediately. Lastly, NP has some terrific performances by Fahadh Fasil & Sreenivasan. Fahadh Fasil proves his caliber (yet again) in handling different situations with ease & grace. It was refreshing to see Sreenivasan getting back on track unlike his recent previous performances, there was no air of intellectual in this film - a character with vulnerabilities attached, it was hilarious at times. NP a decent family entertainer, way better than the maker's previous stints.

Good one
joppanLive15 February 2019
The movie gives us what we expect from a typical sreenivasan-satyan anthikad film. Fahad was living the character and all the actors did well. The film portrays a simple tale without much twists and noises. Felt the film ended too sudden, could have added something more in the climax. Overall a pleasant movie for everyone to enjoy.

Same old cliche and too predictable
shabin-sajan4 January 2019
Went to watch the movie after hearing rave reviews but it's disappointed big time . First half is good and the second half was damn predictable and the same old cliche inspirational stuff. Nothing new but few humorous scenes from Fahad (as usual he was too good ) and few satirical scenes which you could expect from a script by Sreenivasan. Any how an average flick and didn't keep up like the Indian pranaya kadha .

Any other average mallu in this below average movie
cool_andhot3 January 2019
You have seen it all already in other Sathyan anthikkad movies, other Sreenivasan Scripts and in other Fahad Fasil movies... So it's a mix of all these 3 in a very poor state... I watched it yesterday and I already forgot all other character's names except Prakashan. ( That too only because it is the title ). There is no flow and skips from one story to another. Even ever green KPSC Lalitha was disappointing... Not worth to watch it even when it comes to Asianet.

The vintage combo is back !!
anuragcm-4057222 December 2018
This movie is the undoubtedly the best family entertainer released this year. The movie has a humorous setting throughout and the vintage Sathyan Anthikad-Sreenivasan team has done it again.Fahadikka's performance was as usual great, his change from a character to another is exceptional(from varathan to this). We got a great performance by Sreenivasan which reminds us of classics like sandesam, vadakkunokkiyanthram and so on...This movie has got a lot of heart and everyone involved has done their part beautifully.Fahad's mannerisms and even the smallest gestures made it hilarious.Sathyan Anthikad has done it again,I find the movie better than jomonte suvisheshangal and fahad's indian pranayakadha...from the beginning of the titles to the end of the movie Sathyan sir has brought us back to the typical movie type which we have been watching in the 90's & 80's lalettan's and Jayaramettan's Sathyan Anthikad directorials. If you are expecting to watch an entertaining, classic movie with your family then go for it.Undoubtedly, this is the Christmas winner of 2018 and also one of the best movies of the year...!!😘

Nice and slow
mayurpanchamia9420 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The story of a man named Prakashan who yearns to go to foreign countries, particularly Germany. He finds that his name is a bit old-fashioned so changes his name to P. R. Akash just to sound more modern. Prakashan aka PR Akash is a typical Malayali man, a nurse as he says he's done B.sc Nursing is looking forward to leading a luxurious life without too much effort. He vehemently opposes the idea of entering the nursing profession because of its lower pay and thankless nature. He shows a sexist view toward this career, believing that it is suited to women rather than men. He actively tries to go abroad by marrying a foreign citizen and thus acquiring a family visa, followed by dumping her and living his life. All this changes in the end with stereotypical lines like Kerala is God's own country and all.

The satirical comedy does the work throughout the movie. The film does give a feel of The Fault in Our Stars towards the end.

Njan Prakashan has a shaky first half, and a relatively more convincing second half. I went surfing something else on Netflix after few minutes but when I came back the movies takes a deeper and narrower turn just like Kerala's roads.

Tina unexpectedly dies during one of Prakashan's stories despite his efforts to revive her. This has a profound impact on him, with Prakashan transforming himself into a realistic and grounded human being, a sensitive nursing professional where he realizes that nursing is more than just a way of income, but rather, a way to help people in need. Does play a message to nurses and other Mallus who madly want to migrate to Gulf or any other place leaving thier own lands.

Devika Sanjay does a decent job and Fahadh Faasil does create real magic with subtlety.

Malyalam Cinema has relevance, is charismatic, and does touch the right chords unlike its south Indian counterparts.

At the box office, it grossed 52 crore worldwide in 40 days into release, becoming one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films of all time.

Available on Netflix watch with Banana chips and other Kerala snacks. (Just randomly :P)

The movie ends with a Malayalam song translating "Someone Sprinkled colours on soul today.."

A tale of life!
santoshambekar1916 April 2021
Njan prakashan is not just a movie but a tale of life!

The narration of how we expect things from life at far places than from the things that are near to us!

This is yet another good movie lead by and beautified by Fahadh fassil!!

When you start watching a movie you will think a movie going in one direction whereas it's going completely other way!

Great story, great narration, great directorial and great acting!

Must watch Malayalam movie!

Not as good as it gets.
Azanspy14 January 2019
Njan Prakashan has its plus points and it has many minus points too. The movie is funny at times and so senseless at other times too. Performance wise, we have seen Fahadh Faasil perform better. Personally, I think he did a lot overacting at some areas. Sreenivasan was as good as always. Overall, Njan Prakashan is just a cliche old Malayalam family entertainer with a predictable story and funny at times.
