Joar (Peter Mörlin ) is a viking who has been away from home for two years killing and pillaging. His family does not know if he is alive or dead. Runa (Moa Enqvist Stefansdotter) the eldest daughter is good with a bow and has been providing for the family, but it is not enough. Fifty minutes into the film, dad shows up and the film only remotely starts to pick up.

The plot could have flowed better. The dialogue was boring. The scare factor was associated with "smell" which didn't come across the screen too well. Rather than tell us about the viking antics, we needed a flashback to see what happened.

Guide: F-word. Near sex. No nudity.

Nothing much to say, the story is surpriseless the acting is average except for the main girl character ...she plays really poorly and she kills a few scene ...her little sister in the movie plays a lot better ( not difficult ) ...i expected something different from a scandinavian movie ..but no ...not better than an below average hollywood viking movie...you can NOT watch it ...you'll miss nothing good.

Boring and disorganized

I never imagined he could reach such a tall level of boring. Good background music, it's unfortunately totally without timing. Very poor movie lines. Poor script. In all, very weak. Without an educational touch, without spirit, without any imagination. A kid from elementary school could have written a better script.

Just Dull!! Nothing Exciting

Its not an action, Thriller or even Horror!!. Its a 97 % slow burn drama in the woods. A family waiting for 2 years for father to return home, venting their frustrations and longing through conversations, and a daughter who carries around bow and arrow and day dreams some bad stuff. That's it!! nothing much!!!. Watch it if you have nothing going on in life.

Funny when the Swedish people try to play Vikings after Norways Norsemen vikings serie. This was so B-movie as it gets. Boring as hell. Drama movie.

The movie took a lot of time to start the plot, that makes the movie very boring. I expect better twist, but unfortunately it's very old common story. Not bad movie, you may be love it if you have enough patience.

Waste of time... boring boring boring! What's worse is that it keeps you watching hoping that it gets better but take my word for it, it doesn't get any better and in the end you wish you would have just walked away five or ten minutes into the movie.

As often happens, most of the reviews are 10 and 1. If you want a zombie movie; or an action film; this is neither. It is a folktale style film; involving what some of our reviewers say, is the Scandinavian equivalent of zombies. Worth the time you'll spend watching. This was on the free streaming site, Tubi; which is a real odd mix of films. There are some real trash excuses for cinema; and a few real gems. This movie is one of the gems.

Borefest

Basically, nothing much happens in the first 70 minutes, and what little happens in the last 35 is totally forgettable and uninspired. Not an horror, not a thriller, not a drama, but rather a failed attempt at each of those.

Not really much of a horror, a slow burn suspense maybe? Either way, the acting is solid and the characters believable. The costumes and settings have an authentic feel. I found the soundtrack fitting. Not much happens until the end, they take their time letting you get to know the characters. With little things happening here or there... Just enough for you to know that things are just not quite right. Overall I personally found it an enjoyable movie but maybe not the movie for hardcore horror or action fans. If you can appreciate slower paced movies with a historic setting then give it a chance. Props given for the mixture of genre ... A zombie, viking movie... who knew! Lol.... Not much in the way of zombies through most of it, mainly the last 20 mins or so. So once again I am saying that if you do not do well sitting through slow paced movies then this one probably is not for you. For those that are ok with that then definitely give it a shot.

Not Vikings but good

Why do I even mention the Vikings show? Well in Germany they thought they'd cash in on the tail wagon of the show and call this the Viking Saga ... I guess that's clever, yes? Anyway, if you are a fan of slow burning movies with a touch of medievil, you could do worse.

This seems quite low budget, but has a lot of flair and flavor to boost. The tone seems also to hit all the right spots. And it has an ending that may be worth the wait up to that point. It's quite intriguing to see, even if flawed to a certain degree of course.

Overall this film is quite tedious to watch, which is a shame because the story could have been the basis for a something more engaging.

The story is very slow, and when something interesting starts to happen it is lacklustre and hardly peaks before the film finishes.

Don't waste your time.

I kept expecting something exciting to happen, but it never did. Throughout this movie, there is a constant and slightly underwhelming pace, with just enough tiny spikes of thrill to keep you watching and expecting more, only to be disappointed when the scene changes after absolutely nothing having happened.

Nearing the end, the movie finally introduces fighting and, lo and behold, it feels fake and staged. A few characters have sudden changes of heart and make nonsensical decisions.

The movie ends with such a lame twist, that it made me feel bad after wasting so much time on it.

The dead/undead do not turn up until about 1 hour into the movie but still an okay entertaining movie.

If you like vikings and zombies you might like this but its neither action packed or filled with horror.

Slightly bland.

If you are looking for action, there is none, if you have patience and enjoy long development this is for you

I decide to give it a try, i expect to see a total different thing, more hunting, i want to see a skilled woman with his bow and arrow being challenge by the vissicitudes of life.

But this is not the case, slow, very boring, nothing happens at all, i thought they could save a lot of time and skip or remove several scenes in this movie, using more elements that make a huntress a huntress, you can't be deceiving with the title of a movie, the only thing this girl is hunting is boring.

See a lot of people give this movie a 10/10, i guess that come from people involved on the film, could be from the director, the actress or even from someone on the staff.

A Lot of Heart

First off genuine Norse Saga lore of "Zombies" The "Sendegar" are a "real" little known physical ghost in the Norse Sagas who take a physical form. This was not for those who want coked up Vikings smashing beer bottles over the head but real folks who had a life outside of going a "Viking". They handled the social life and the midwinter festival so well without the need to make it "Pagan" because they were it. Brilliant movie. I liked the mainly Scandinavian actors. You don't have to be the ethnic culture you play but it is refreshing when First Nation actors play" Indians" or Jews play King David or oh my even Jesus. Really unique with a lot of heart and the soul of the northern forest.

A Refreshing Story

Ok, it is not Thor, The Avengers, or even the Viking series. But I would put is on the line of "Thule" or even "Troll Hunters". An interesting movie by people who live in the country it is about. A bit of thought is needed if you do not know the stories of the people it is representing. Does anyone know the child's song she sings at the end when all the "zombies" drop?

Snoozefest that tries to cash in on the viking hype.

A mother with her daughters are waiting for their father to return (or something, I don't know or care). The first 90% of the movie is just talking with some occasional scenes of a woman walking through the woods with a bow in her hand. In the end there is some fight(s) but by then you've fallen asleep. Avoid at all cost.

terribly slow and boring

It is so slow that I could not connect with this film at all. After watching it during half an hour I decided to waste no more time and quit. I have seen pretty bad movies but since I started rating movies in IMDB this is the first time I am unable to finish a movie thus my low rating.
